Re: Switch 2 Game-Key Cards Aren't Tied To Nintendo Accounts

Chocobo_Shepherd

Remember people, if you only buy true physical media, it won't die. Vote with your wallet!! We should have put our foot down 20 years ago, but we have to do it now before it's too late.

Sure, some indie games could never have afforded physical, so that's fine to support them. But if it's a title from a big enough studio, hold out and voice your demand for physical until it comes!!

(Heck, even some small indie games get physical releases via LRG, etc.)

Re: Digital Switch 2 Games Being Cheaper Than Physical Is A "Challenge", Says Retailer GAME

Chocobo_Shepherd

When digital distribution first hit the scene everyone gobbled it up because they were like "surely it'll be a lot cheaper!" And, it is for things like indie titles or the thousands of Steam titles that can be sold for a dollar. But, for full retail games digital was basically just surrendering ownership for convenience.

At least now you can save a few bucks if you don't care as much about the ownership aspect*.

*and code in box games are just the absolute worst of both worlds.

Re: "Don't Let Nintendo Ruin The Entire Industry" - Is $80 For Mario Kart World A Bridge Too Far?

Chocobo_Shepherd

Gotta get those clicks, huh?

In the '90s, game prices had not settled into a norm. Some games were $90 back then (adjusted for inflation that would be $188 today). And that didn't "ruin the industry."

In addition, I feel like Sony, MS, and PC hardware have been making needlessly expensive tech and passing that cost onto consumers for 20 years now. Nintendo joins their trend and it's them who might "ruin the industry"?

C'mon, people. Use your brains.

Re: Select Pokémon Card Pre-Orders Cancelled After New Expansion's Disastrous Launch

Chocobo_Shepherd

I'm obsessed with collecting Pokemon cards, but I'm never going to let the hobby turn into a stressor. When the cards are on the shelf, at a reasonable price, I will gobble them up. Otherwise, I can wait.

I enjoy them for the cool art, the glimpses at the lore, and that dopamine hit from opening randomness.

I don't treat Pokemon cards like a stock market or a retirement plan, so, stressing about stuff like this, while it is a bummer, would defeat the purpose of my hobby. (imo)

Re: Forget The Lawsuit, Pocketpair Says Palworld On Switch 2 Is "100% Worth Considering"

Chocobo_Shepherd

They are just straight up trolling at this point. They never really had a game to begin with, it's all been a scam to get attention and money for "bending" the rules (breaking imo), and then crying victim when they were punished for it.

If they are serious about being game devs, make original designs, tweak the capture mechanic, and stand on your own merit. Stop kicking a bee hive and complaining about stings.
