Wii was better. We actually got a very good pack-in title, which was actually amazing for free. Also, excite truck.

I’m on nso+ but I’m not considered the main user, as I’m part of a family plan and I’m not the person who set it up. So not expecting an email but if hours played were the only proviso, I reckon I’d definitely qualify.
Not preordered elsewhere but have looked into it. Trouble is, it’s so bloody expensive I will have to look at payment plans. Just for the record, I don’t think the console itself is overpriced (in the Uk). Although I think it is a little too expensive here, as it’s above what a strict dollar-to-Sterling exchange rate price would be, I’m pretty sure.
The games though, they are hugely overpriced! If I do preorder it will definitely be the mkw bundle though because as much as I prefer physical games, with the bundle it only costs about £30 here! I will miss that box art tho.

My most pressing question is:- if you move your whole profile from OG switch can you still play games on the OG with those on your friends list who haven’t upgraded?
Will you even still have access to online play?
If not, can you crossplay OG titles with those still on OG switch, from the switch 2?

I really can’t see any of these “switch 2 version “ games selling much at all. Surely most people will either own the OG switch version or buy it, then pay whatever it costs to upgrade to S2 version. That’s those that don’t have the + online membership who get a free upgrade. Surely doing it that way is cheaper than buying the “Switch 2 version”? I can see these versions becoming white elephants and outside of collectors, barely selling. I’d be surprised if any of these switch 2 versions sell even 1m copies, unless the price to upgrade the OG Switch version is prohibitively high.
Especially if, as suspected here, the upgrade has to be downloaded separately and is not on the cart!

Oh yeah I suppose it is. 3,4 and 5 already available and now this crossgen release. Will probably get it (but not necessarily play it there) for the switch, especially if it’s £20 cheaper there.

Mario kart and ridge racer definitely. Rune factory (which you strangely left off the list), I may get for OG Switch depending on pricings. Also quite a few maybes.

Happy they appear to have gone back to purely “Mario” kart rather than the “Nintendo kart” it was becoming. I knew there would be enough characters in the Mario roster to fill all playable roles after remembering Moped mayhem. This was a minigame from Mario party (8 I think?) which had a field of 50(!) unique Mario universe racers. This was a while ago too, so more unique characters have been added since. I have my fingers crossed that chef bro is in, even if it’s just a hammer bro costume!

Meh. A 5/10 for me, dragged up to 6 coz….. Chibi Robo!!

Cool to see a ridge racer game but the graphics look so dated!
Will probably get za for switch 2, depending on if it’s explained to me how the online/profile system actually works.
The rest was pretty meh but I acknowledge there’s some good 3rd party stuff on there for others who they may actually appeal to.

I want it all mii-wise! Switch party, switch play, switch sports resort etc. The only “mii” game I never had was Wii music. I say bring them all back, probably on Switch 2 though

Also star of the direct for me. Very deserving of the “1 last game “ imo.

I know most, if not all of Nintendo’s devs are hard at work on switch 2 titles and understandably so. However it would be great if they had saved some, held them back for 1 last Switch surprise to be shown tomorrow. Maybe something not too demanding? Maybe something like Tomadachi life 2? That would be a great swan song for the OG switch. I mean, there must be some stuff to show apart from MP4, as it’s a full fat first party direct, so fingers crossed there’s at least 1 surprise to be shown

To me, it looks like a complete ripoff of gen 1. There’s paying homage to and also plagiarising. This looks much more like the latter to me. Seriously, do none of these “creators “ have any of their own ideas or any creativity any more?

Love the video but just a minor quibble. Far too much Mario Strikers. That game is sooo bad! I’d much rather see some Mario tennis or even golf. They were both far superior games. They may have been criticised at launch for being unfinished but at least once they were finished, they were actually good games with some meat to them. Mario strikers is neither and is actually crap. Idc if anyone disagrees, I won’t change my opinion. Not just me, also 2 other family members gave up on it after less than 5 hours playtime.

Why would a game made by a hip hop group excite anyone?
Their talents clearly lie elsewhere.

You just literally told me it was based on the base speed stat! Now you are saying it isn’t?? What is it then, random? Tbh you aren’t explaining anything either, just making my point look even more likely then.
Also, are you trying to say using an agile move doesn’t give you a speed boost??
Then why would anyone even bother to use it??? Every time with fail the cpu use it, even with slow, bulky mons, they get a speed boost, yet the player gets one sometimes. Yes, randomly, just like you are implying. As i said before, the whole battle system is just a vehicle for CPU cheating

Totodile for me. 2nd favourite water starter (after Squirtle, naturally) and one of my favourite starters of all time.
The other 2 are kinda “meh” to me.

@sanderev i disagree. It seems more like a lottery to me and seems engineered specifically to aid the cpu in literally blatant cheating. I was using a jolly rapidash level 100, maxed out speed stat against an alpha (frosslass i think). We both did agile moves, yet the turn after, the frosslass gets 2 turns. Explain to me how that works please? Idc how fast a level 70-ish fosslass is, it shouldn’t be going twice against my nearly 400 speed stat rapidash. (All under normal battle conditions).

Definitely better than the cheating, hax filled, crappy cpu biased battle system from Legends Arceus

Hoping for a big blowout on PlZA, hopefully showing starters, gameplay, areas and at least a few surprises. Also hoping for a brief peak at gen 10 and a reveal of gen 5 remakes but NOT in the BDSP chibi style.
Also new legends/7 star raids.
I realise I’m asking for a bit much, so my tempered hopes are for at least some of the above and hopefully a way to evolve the shiny homedex completion Meltan!

Not sure if I believe anything Nate the hate says. He is wrong far more often than he is right. Even the few times he is right, it seems to me, he’s just regurgitating rumours, which have a fairly high percentage chance of being right anyway.

Shame to hear about that. Great pedigree there, especially for racing games. I used to wish Nintendo would snap them up, to work on excite bike/truck, wave race, 1080 and maybe even f zero. Am sure they would be very high quality!

Am not very far from the London event but I’m not a very good traveler ( even fairly short distances ), so didn’t apply.
I too, though am also looking forward to playing it when it’s in my own 2 hands!

Tbh, I can’t see any handheld from Sony or Microsoft selling enough to justify their existence, or their respective manufacturers long term support.

I wish they would do something with the Rush franchise, specifically a Rush 2 remaster. That would be awesome!
That’s assuming they even own the IP now though. I have no idea who owns it at this point.

Probably best to wait for Curry’s in the UK. They seem to be consistently cheapest for Nintendo first party games. Especially with the 25% off codes they offer on seemingly most Nintendo games now.

Metaphor sales, at least from a ps5 perspective, look awesome to me. Pretty sure I’d never even heard of the game before today. Must be 1 of the highest openings for the ps5 in Japan so far.

@larryisaman yeah I guess handhelds have done ok. Some better than others.
However, afaik they didn’t really set the sales charts on fire with their 3rd party sw sales, particularly multiplats, albeit the Nin handheld version was usually gimped to an unrecognisable state.

I’ve been impressed with Switches sales share of 3rd party multiplats, especially recently.
Considering this is the UK, consistently 1 of Nintendo’s weakest markets, yet 3rd party multiplat market share on switch is very competitive, even in some genres it’s not really expected to be.

No direct this month imo and also a toss-up whether there’s a reveal or even a direct this year. As others have said, there’s probably little to show for OG switch. Also, a reveal I’d say is 50/50 this year. Again, as has been aforementioned, if Nintendo shows nextgen Switch it could harm current gen switch’s holiday sales.

Whoever’s Lite that is has good taste. Cruis’n blast is awesome! Not sure how well it fits into the LOZ theme tho 😂

Switch sports isnt and hasn’t ever been £50. If you are going to write articles about switch games and especially if you are going to review them then you ought to make sure you have your facts straight before you proceed!

Surely after then it will be time to reconsider your review, no? Considering it was marked down as being barebones, even though it was impossible to rate the online experience. Also, 2 sports have been added since.
