What I would like:- supposedly “leaked” ridge racer game, GTA5, Warioware, MonHun, S(wii)tch party, Chibi robo.
What I expect:- banjo release tomorrow, 4th DLC Smash character reveal (3rd party), December wii/u port. Over watch, other 3rd party ports (some surprises), lots of info on games we already know about
And finally a surprise 1st party game we knew nothing about. Possibly from a long dormant IP. Early 2020

Mysterious. I wonder what the game will be and if it will even be on Switch?

It seems like we need a class action lawsuit here, then.

Afaik, Super street hasn’t released in the U.K yet. I believe it’s slated for September. So I’ve no idea where it has actually been released 😱

Reading between the lines of what he said, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if Nintendo had invested in Platinum somehow. Perhaps bought a non-controlling stake?

@Mrtoad In Japan ? Not very likely. That was probably Ps4s last shot ever at outselling the Switch in Japan. 2 massive 3rd party releases and it just manages it by a couple of hundred. Next week it will probably go back to being outsold 3 or 4x by Switch.

@Medic_alert All summed up in your first paragraph. You admit to knowing nothing about channel stuffing and you proved yourself that you don't know the difference between shipments and sales. Yet you claim I'm making ridiculous assumptions about you. I'd say I'm pretty spot on by the look of it. If you dont know what it is then what is the point of providing proof? As for the original article it didnt specify whether it was shipments or sales. You think it doesnt make any difference, however it does in the last quarter. @Dirty0814 Yes pretty much and all publishers/platform holders do it if they are close enough to s target at the end of or beginning of a quarter (usually 4)

@Medic_alert @Medic_alert There were reasons to contradict you, considering your knowledge seems pretty limited on these matters. The reason why the difference between shipped and sold to consumers is relevant is that Nintendo is much much more likely to be able to reach the 20m in the last quarter by stuffing the channel. Not the best thing to do but doubtless something else i will have to explain to you.

@Medic_alert These figures are NEVER sold, always shipped. The part that may confuse you is that sold is usually mentioned but all it means is sold to retailers, which you are confusing with sold to consumers. Shipments to retailers are obviously much (Between 1 and 2m typically) higher.

@Medic_alert Maybe, maybe not. In this instance the author of the original document has been deliberately vague, given that its not concrete proof, just his projection but if it is indeed 11m sold to consumers then shipments would likely be 12.5m at least.

@Medic_alert @Chibi just so you know. All companies use shipment figures in these instances, = sold to retailers. These figures will always be higher than sold to consumer figures. Otherwise supply would run out. Well technically shipments weren't much more than sales to consumers near Switch launch period as there were massive shortages!

@Medic_alert shipped. So you are looking at possibly up to 2m+ more than you calculated during the Christmas period. So roughly 3m more, give or take need to be SHIPPED in q4.

Technically you could put the game in which usually turns the console on. Then when you have finished for the day, eject the game and wait for the switch to go to sleep mode. Then when you want to play again, just put the game back in

I have all 3, amongst others but like a few here am from the U .K. to be fair tho, I refused to buy Mario kart new as I already played it to death on Wii u. Yes I guess all 3 are great games but my enjoyment of Mario kart was somewhat diluted thanks to it being already very familiar to me. Hence its had shorter playtime than the other 2. That and the fact that there's little incentive to play the single player game as all except gold Mario is already unlocked .

@Anti-Matter Agreed. I'm pretty easy to please with games in genres I like. I'm a sucker for Nintendo games and don't care if they are considered casual or not. I gess carnival games falls into this category. I must admit I draw the line with 1-2 switch tho. I find It ok. Fun to play with the younger ones tho.

Am i the only 1 who actually enjoyed this on the Wii? Also, people need to realise that screaming for mature realistic 3rd party games isn't entirely dependant on 3rd parties. There's no guarantee said games won't bomb. LA Noire and Doom didn't exactly set the sales charts on fire. Sad but true. It's not always fair to blame the 3rd parties. Unfortunately the userbase is equally to blame.

They will likely lose the lawsuit and then be forced to pay Nintendo's costs. Hopefully it will bankrupt them.

Load of sh**e. About time Nintendo showed something decent.

I have LA Noire and haven't noticed a single issue with it. I've also played and beat the whole game. It looks really good too.

@NCChris Didn't say there was anything wrong with it. I just feel that Nintendo originally stated they were developing MP4 internally. They also stated they were "constantly hiring talented new Dev staff". If that is the case, then EAD's output should be higher. What are all those Dev teams working on I'm wondering? As a lot of Nintendo IP's are actually developed by 3rd parties. Nintendo need to either expand or invest in new studios. Of course Namco is a good publisher i have confidence in but if they were to mess up 1 of Nintendos flagship franchises there would be some who would find it unforgivable.

2 thoughts spring to mind here. First of all, Nintendo hate their secrets getting out, so expect a direct soon. Also, where are all these "talented new devs" Nintendo insist they are continually taking on? I would have thought if that was the case then Nintendo could have handled Metroid internally, like they implied at E3. If they are not handling Metroid internally, yet taking on lots of new devs, then logic should dictate that we should soon see an internal increase of quality 1st party titles from Nintendo soon,, instead of farming their IP's out to 3rd parties

@XenoShaun Sorry can't remember the exact title. All I remember is having lots of fun with it! Was definitely the Wii u game tho. May have been Australian PAL tho as it came from gadget exchange.

There probably will be a new direct soon. Nintendo still need to show xeno dlc, octopath plus the "new experiences" Kimishima talked about. Then theres the 6 new Switch sku's mystery from Amazon.

Mario tennis was the highlight for me. Looks like they have learnt from the mistakes of Ultra smash and it will actually be a decent fleshed out title.

I really don't get it. We get decent 3d racers like gear club which seem to struggle so we end up with poop like this? Not all Switch owners have gone through that weird time warp!

@Fight_Teza_Fight why not check the monthly chart. You will see a different story. Skyrim Switch peaked at number 6 while the ps4 skyrim bundle was 1 of the highest recent climbers and only recently surpassed the Switch version on the hourly charts.

Based in the U.K? I've never heard of it but its something I would be interested in. I take it that its not available in shops, only subscription based? I may have to look into it.

I preferred the N64 controller if I'm honest. Although I still have some GC controllers. Even a couple of Wave birds! May have to see if I can pick up an adaptor at a reasonable price.

The U.K. isn't Nintendo's weakest market just probably not 1 of its strongest. I actually expect Mario to hit number 1 next week. Its been #1 on Amazon best sellers practically the whole month in the U.K.!

Something you would know nothing about, having not played them. You are not the only 1 to have owned a Wii u here. About time you grew up and moved on!

Looks pretty ambitious for Switch! Count me in. I love racing games, especially involving cars. Just what the Switch needs IMO.

@electrolite77 Wow! There are definitely Switch supply issues in the U.K. Almost as soon as it is available, it goes out of stock. Judging by your link only 1 model is available at 1 stockist and thats a bundle. The only other places its available are 3rd party scalpers!

Still waiting for those photos, lol. Have you literally been driving about all night looking for a store with plentiful supply of Switch? It certainly looks that way!
