Re: Vampire Survivors Gets Contra Crossover DLC Next Month

ChessboardMan

I have the game on 3 different platforms, the first two DLC on 2 platforms and that last DLC on one platform.
Can’t see a physical version coming until they have like 10 paid DLC to make it worth the price, as the game is cheap, not really worth paying something like five times the games base price just for physical. And that’s assuming it’s be £20… which is probably on the cheap side of physical releases.

Re: GAME Apparently Ending Physical Trade-Ins From Next Month (UK)

ChessboardMan

Seems a weird decision for them, then most of what they do is utterly confusing. Their postage is so bloody high and they still charge you to have it delivered to a store for pick up, which defeats the whole point of having it delivered to a store for pick up. Then you have ShopTo who do free delivery on most stuff. And better prices. Who are you going to buy from? Game’s delivery is more than it costs to get bulky deliveries from where I buy toys. And those shops aren’t part of a giant chain. It’s laughable.

Re: The Super Mario Bros. Movie Lands Three Nominations At The Golden Globes 2024

ChessboardMan

Let’s see… not seen the Boy and the Heron for the above reason, so can’t comment on it, not seen Elemental or Wish, but either didn’t hear much about them, or not much good about them. Across the Spider-verse was spectacular and had me on the edge of my seat. Door Anime was very good apart from the romance felt flat (should have stuck to the original plan maybe). Super Mario, well it was fun and one of the better Video Game movies, but not exactly groundbreaking.
I forget how the Golden Globes work? Are they judged or voted on? As I remember hearing about how the judges for one award were simply not watching the animated nominees and going for Disney entries just because.
Door Anime and probably The Boy and the Heron might go over judges/viewers heads? (Again, not seen tBatH yet?). Spider-Verse has a lot of setup to get on top of, and while other spider-verse stuff isn’t important to understanding it really, the first film is needed, and also unfamiliarity with Spider-man/comics might put judges/viewers off. Definitely best comic hero movie this year though.
Mario… requires a lot of setup to get the in jokes and Easter eggs, but is also bright and colourful for kids and puny judges’ minds.

So if Disney or Mario end up winning, I think most people won’t be able to take it seriously. Again, I don’t remember how Golden Globes work.

Re: Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 Switch Physical Version Requires Downloads

ChessboardMan

This is pretty frustrating, especially at 30GB for the videos?! Something I did notice while looking on the eShop: everything in this collection is separate downloads. The Collection on the eShop is a bundle of five different pieces of Software, none of it is DLC. MGS, MGS2, MGS3, The Nes Games, the extra extras(The other pre-Solid games, the videos, the motion comic, etc). But before you get excited and think this means you can pick and mix: only MGS2 & 3 have prices by themselves. MGS and the NES Games are available in a collection together, but I think the only way to get the Extra Extras, including what people consider the real precursor games, is to buy the Full Collection.

Re: Vampire Survivors Finally Comes To Switch This August With Couch Co-op

ChessboardMan

I’ve played it mostly to death on PC(mostly just got to finish the DLC), and mostly to death on Mobile(one non-secret character refuses to unlock, and I can’t figure out why. Also not brought the DLC on Mobile), but I’m fully prepared to play it to death yet again on Switch- this time with Friends! Curious how they’ll make that work actually.

Re: Zelda: TOTK Players Discover Simple Way To Make Rupees With 'Frozen Meat Glitch'

ChessboardMan

@Diowine By the sounds of it, this bug actually doesn't require you to actually use any Zonite. The description given makes it sounds like the meat pops off the Virtual diagram before you even try to build it. Basically, it sounds like currently extreme cold automatically separates meat from fusions etc, and the extreme cold is affecting the meat in this way, before it is supposed to be physically there, causing it to materialise early.

Re: Here's The First Bloody, Brutal Look At Mortal Kombat 1's Gameplay

ChessboardMan

I feel old and confused… Lui Kang is a God now? Last I heard he was a zombie? I wasn’t even paying attention when that happened. And Raiden’s a Mortal? Did MK11 end with them resetting the universe in universe?
The Cameos are a little odd, doesn’t really strike me as a Mortal Kombat mechanic, that’s more a Marvel Vs Capcom thing… was it 2 that did that?

Re: Fantasy Farming Sim 'Fae Farm' Flocks To Switch This September

ChessboardMan

This looks like a Baby’s first Stardew Valley. Nothing wrong with that, just saying it presents itself as a farming sim for a younger age. I wonder if gameplay will be stripped back, or be just/nearly as complex as the more seasoned Farming Sims of today, and if simpler, how fun the game will turn out. Will it be a simple but fun experience for all ages, or will it turn out too simplistic and be branded a baby game? It looks like it could have plenty of fun and wonder for all ages not turned away by how overly cute it presents itself. And it has some form of multiplayer? But not sure if that’s Online/Wireless, or same console Multiplayer- wait, just read the article, yeah it’s all online and ad-hoc… which is the more expensive form of multiplayer since usually everyone needs a copy and a Switch, though obviously it allows for more freedom when playing.

Prince of Persia looks full of EdgeTM, but that shouldn’t impact the game if it is still fun.
Sonic could be fun, though part of me prefers the 2D graphics of Mania, but that doesn’t mean anything one way or the other concerning gameplay. If it’s fun, it’s fun. Though I did raise a confused eyebrow at turning into jellyfish and the storm of Sonics attacking the Robotnik robot.
It strikes me as odd that both of these are established franchises that have more recently(though the last PoP was, what? A couple decades ago? I don’t remember) moved to 3D, returning to their 2D roots with Fancy 3D graphics (though not sure the new PoP will be anything like the very original).

Re: Looks Like There's Already A Mobile Game Ripping Off Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom

ChessboardMan

Now now, this game most likely isn’t copying Tears of the Kingdom, just the trailer. That is, the actual game will be nothing like this, this is a complete fabrication. Heck, you can’t believe any mobile game ad, it’s that bad these days.
There’s a game being sued for having misleading ads, that now has an ad that goes “Fed up of misleading ads? Here is the game that is just like the ad!”
