I picked up III only. I have Every other numbered title in some form on the 3DS, physically in most cases, but III never got an Untold or any version on the 3DS. Now I think the only one I don’t own in some form is Nexus, which was a compilation from my understanding?

Looked a little too chaotic with the combat. Like, I feel that I'll end up repeatedly running off the stage trying to do combat and end up getting frustrated. But it'll probably have its audience and I wish them good luck.

@NightBeast wow even the reviews/gameplay videos are misleading! They start off with more fabrication trailer footage before eventually revealing it’s the usual mobile mmo isometric dungeon crawler stuff, more like Diablo than TotK.
You have to be suspicious when the reviewer is clearly sponsored by the company behind the game.

Some people here have no idea how ads for mobile games work these days and it clearly shows.

Now now, this game most likely isn’t copying Tears of the Kingdom, just the trailer. That is, the actual game will be nothing like this, this is a complete fabrication. Heck, you can’t believe any mobile game ad, it’s that bad these days.
There’s a game being sued for having misleading ads, that now has an ad that goes “Fed up of misleading ads? Here is the game that is just like the ad!”

Wait, you can preorder free games now? That just strikes me as super odd. There’s zero commitment from the consumer. Or do you need to preorder a season pass or something?

@nhSnork I don’t think Nintendo was directly involved with Project X Zone, it was a collab between Bandai Namco, Capcom, and Sega. It was a 3DS exclusive, is that what you mean?

And the Second game got what I think is a similar reimagining. In fact, of the numbered entries, I only don't own a version of EO III. Which is why that's the only one I have my eye on.

Looks like it might be fun, but I'm worried that the plot is one of those generic meet cutes between a super loser character and a cute girl, which we've seen so many times already... Anyone know the TV trope name for that?

@Coffeemonster The Simple 2000 series is full of masterpieces, and I won’t hear a single bad word against it. Yes, that includes Demolition Girl.
… Man, I’d love a Simple 2000 collection on Switch, or for the European releases to be on the PlayStation Plus Ultra or whatever service… But they could name their price on a Simple 2000 Collection on Switch.

Also, if the game is coming to Mobile, then they already have a version cut down enough to work on Switch.

Just wondering, this is unrelated to the other games on mobile with Nikki in their title, right? The Word Nikki is just a word that means something like dress up or fashion or something, right? The ads for Shining Nikki have put me off the game and anything related to it…

@Tober @Polvasti Um, it is a $15/£14 game. You're looking at the price of the physical version, and I assume that's mostly covering the cost to produce the cart itself. The eShop price is under half that. In fact, for the rest of today there's 10% off.

@NinjaNicky There's a bunch of ads one game made where they actually claim to Be the game, and even made themselves game boxes based on the actual game boxes of Age of Empires, to give an impression that they are the modern iteration of the game. It is downright disgusting. It was probably Rise of Empires, but I can't remember.

This is nothing new. I’ve seen mobile game “gameplay” ads that paste a fake virtual controller over a video of the Legend of Korra game. I’ve seen a game use Bloodborne promotional art with the darkness turned up. I’ve seen a game promote itself with Chun Li fanart. Some of the people behind these mobile games are just scum. Not all, there are some mobile games that try, but the majority of mobile game ads are trash designed to lower your IQ…

Is it free if you have a Netflix account? On iOS, it’s free for those with a Netflix account, as part of their trying to branch out into gaming or something.

Wow, these certainly have that NFT feel to them, like the art doesn’t feel too dissimilar to those damn apes. Like it’s Megaman style, but some element of design or something is missing, giving them that soulless feel of every other NFT.

I disagree with the “Zelda like” descriptor. As they say in their own description, it’s like a top down of the First person dungeon crawlers… in fact, it looks very much like a rogue type game, but without the procedural generated level (and I assume the usual gameplay loop), instead opting for a more Puzzle like approach. It even looked like enemies might wait for you to move first?
Basically, it’s rogue-like, but not using the usual elements that get picked up from rogue.

You know, when you said there was an Amnesia game, I was thinking a Dark Descent port or something. I suppose I should have realised most of the games were from the East?

I wouldn’t hold my breath for a Switch release. So far I haven’t heard of Solar Ash having a Switch version planned, and if this uses an offshoot of the same engine, it’ll probably be as difficult to port. There Could be ports of both eventually, but not for a long long while I’d imagine.

@PBandSmelly The crew ones would have a hard Candy bone hidden inside, so you can bite them in half to make a body to be reported.

I feel that the Kitsune Tails Zero is an April Fools, given how they make it practically a 1:1 duplicate of Super Mario Bros. They might still release “something”, but it will be obviously intended as a joke release. It is already April in the parts of the world that inspired this game at least. (Can’t figure out where the developer is based, think they might be an online team with no office location).
The other game looks more legit. Sure it has some similarities to Mario 3, but there’s also some unique elements shown off in the trailer. Also, if you’re going to take heavy inspiration from a game, it might as well be one of the classics like Mario 3.

… Isn’t it a bit early for April Fools? The majority of the English speaking world is still stuck in March for at least another couple hours…

@Bunkerneath Just to give you an idea how much more expensive the physical version is:
-On the UK eShop, the version with all the DLC is £22.50.
-The Standard Physical version(which also includes the DLC thankfully, though not sure if they’re on the cart or what) is $40, which is ~£30.
-This price won’t include VAT (another £6) and postage (probably another £10 to the UK, since they’re US based).
-Thus to buy the game physically in our regions will probably cost more than DOUBLE the price of digital.
-Physical isn’t really an valid option, unless we go all out and get the super duper special edition with all the bells and whistles, which is still a much worse deal for us in these regions than for people in the US.

@Bunkerneath Buying physical for games like this can be pretty expensive, especially with VAT. In the UK, VAT is another fifth of the base price.

@BakaKnight It’s coming to the EU eShop? I hope that’ll include the UK! I loved the very original on the 360 Indie store, and was so disappointed that the DS one was never available to me. Here’s hoping they get super successful and re-release the previous games on Switch too!

So… how does the rhythm game work? There’s multiple styles of rhythm game, and it’d be nice to know which formula this one uses, or if it uses something fresh? The video showed dancing, but no input prompts?

Pretty sure the game, House Flipper, is the inspiration for this game. It’s a clever idea, don’t think it is for me though, but I’d probably happily watch someone play it for a couple hours…

It feels like a video of someone speed running the game is not the best gameplay example. I mean, look how they completely cheese that water level by running on top of the water? And we hardly got to see the bosses? Also, where is the story? I mean, at the end there’s the two bosses, but what was their deal? Who was the guy with spider legs coming out his back? Do I need to see the movie to find out, or is the story explained in game and they just skipped it?

Are the versions on the UK eShop also untranslated? It looks like you’re using an import copy by the ad link at the bottom.

Obviously this heralds the “Kid who owns all consoles” character in Smash. He plays like Pokémon Trainer, where he has several consoles/characters he can swap between. Finally, the console war can be put to an end, in Smash!

By the way, is it weird that I recognised it as Bayonetta, or at least a Platinum game, almost immediately? I can’t describe their graphical style, but they have a graphical style that is instantly recognisable.

@Klent no, but a new update that is necessary to play the game will update all Mario lines to be voiced by him.

This… actually works to my advantage. Next month is going to be expensive, so the news I have one less thing to pay for, is good. I wasn’t really expecting to use it with the game all that much.

I remember YouTubers playing a game with the same name- a low res, follow simple tasks, get creeped out by odd occurrences, get freaked out by the escalating madness, then a twist ending.
This looks very different though, so much it hardly looks related other than you’re working at the same place, doing similar tasks?

You know what I’d like to see? Clock tower. Of course, what I really want is a Western translated release of that game. The original game (SNES or PS1 version).

It looks a lot like a game I have on my mobile- Bombastic Brothers. I think it might be the same publisher. I hope it does use the same freemium tactics it does.

I actually prefer the statue of the cheaper special edition. It’s a more interesting design and glows in the dark. Not buying either though, unless I catch wind of a massive reduction in price.
