I don't regret getting my Series S when I did, but I probably won't go with Xbox the next time I'm able to afford a console beside the latest from Nintendo.

Realistically, at least for the beginning, I imagine that whenever there isn't a new Switch 2 game in a month, there may still be a major Switch 1 release, even if it's not necessarily a 1st-party game.

It's important to have some skepticism, but this level of pessimism is just counter-productive.

I think we should wait to see if they even want/are able to add the DS to NSO before speculating on the 3DS.

@Zeebor15 Not counting the three DS games, there's also Wind Waker and the Wii Channels.

I play much more on TV than outside, so I wouldn't mind a LCD screen - especially if it means it will cost less.

I'm one of those weirdos who kind of hopes they finish porting all (feasible) games before a true new beginning. And it would be nice if it was finally the one with the Battle of 1999.

Working on the Scarlet/Violet dex for the shiny Meloetta was a fun exercise, but I'm bowing out for these two - since they require one of the DP remakes, which I have no interest in getting (unless it was free or dirt cheap).
Now I wonder if they might actually do one for Sword/Shield.

Going from some comments here, I feel that there should be a third category for scoring for things that aren't outright good or bad, such as details open to subjective opinion (like game length, complexity and difficulty), trigger warnings and the occasional joke.

Octopath II is pretty interesting in that you can not only steal discreetly from people, but also outright mug them out of their belongings... though you can also be a paragon and either buy those items directly or - provided you have a high enough level - just ask nicely for them.

I was worried the second game wouldn't reach as many people due to certain divisive opinions about the first one, but I'm glad to see the series is doing well - especially with the information coming from SE, which tends to have pretty high expectations for game sales.

@Mariotag For what it's worth, the original version of SotN is available on Xbox, so there's that.

@Mariotag Worst-case scenario, I think this only applies to the Dracula X Chronicles (specifically the 3D remake of Rondo and the redub of SotN).

It's pretty interesting how in the ceremony where no Nintendo game won an award, the most Nintendo-like game took the big prize. And it's well deserved.

It would be nice if they could get into an agreement with Nintendo and/or Retro.

I didn't think they would be changing the game THIS much. It's definitely getting my interest.

Of the ones that "matter", all that's left is 64 and Jungle Beat. And also Diddy Kong Racing.

Even though the art isn't as good, the Western cover is unmistakably Double Dragon, while the Japan one looks like a Fist of the North Star ripoff.

@Eggolor I already know what the changes are, and I still think that some people are making a mountain out of a molehill over this. There are a couple of alterations I do think were kinda unnecessary, but it's not like they pulled a 4Kids with the remake. Certainly not to the point of wishing Super Paper Mario stays behind in order to "protect" it.

@Eggolor I think you're exaggerating and overreacting.

I definitely want to play it, but with my backlog, current reduced expendable income, certain other games I am more interested in, and the non-zero possibility of getting a better deal after the Switch 2 comes out, I'm not in a hurry.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but it's still a bit disheartening to see how many people did not like the game at all.

I could see them tying the console's reveal with the New Year's celebrations, though I don't know how much attention it would reasonably draw.

@Paddle1 The Scarlet/Violet soundtrack was available at launch (including even all the DLC exclusives tracks), so the rest of the series is very much possible.

I mean, the exact same game with minimal changes is impossible, put they could reuse almost all the assets to put the same story and visuals in a game that would work on the Switch.

I can only say that Origin is another fair option to try the series for the first time.

For the people taking one of the cons a bit too seriously: the game got a 9/10, and the other con listed is a reasonable 1/10 deduction. So it's easy to see the lack of a Chao Garden didn't actually affect the score.

People have all the right to find the rule stupid, but trying to justify not following it or being rude about is not a great look.

So it's like the Wazzler in MVC Collection.

@acmiguens I can understand mistrusting Nintendo to not repeat certain mistakes to a certain extent, but people have no reason to sound so smug about it.

@Joeynator3000 Honestly, even if it turns out to be the case, saying so with such certainty based simply on an assumption rubs me the wrong way.

@Joeynator3000 This is going to sound kind of dumb if it turns out the service will continue expanding on the Switch 2 rather than start from scratch.

This is one of those games I'll gladly watch people with actual friend groups play.

@calbeau Please explain your point without sounding like you have barely glanced at the last couple of releases.

Having not played the game or seen any real footage of it yet: it wouldn't bother me on principle, but considering how close we are to the Switch 2, the possibility that it will improve the performance of current games, and the fact I still have a backlog to go through, I'm fine with waiting a bit more so I can get the best experience possible.

A reminder that it's a PATENT infringement lawsuit, not a copyright one.
