I just realized that there's potential in a whole Hunters remake, especially if it includes a proper multiplayer mode.

There's hoping the new console will house more FromSoftware games than just the first Dark Souls - they deserve the audience.

I MIGHT double-dip with the DX version if they release a physical cartridge... and my finances allow it.

One potentially important factor is how available the original game has been and for how long. In the case of TTYD, which never saw a re-release in two decades and could only be played through official means by paying a pretty penny online, US$60 is fair.

The NA/JP version (especially the latter due to the subtitle) wins to me for being much more meaningful to the narrative.

The problem is that a lot of the time when it comes to discussions about Pokémon games, people choose to express their dislike for the games in kind of an insufferable way, either by being overly emotional about it, stating personal opinions as if they were objective facts, acting smug about how better they are for never playing/having dropped the series, and just generally encouraging people to have no hope for the future.

Of course, that's not to say people can't be just as annoying when defending the games or attacking critics/haters (especially when they do it preemptively).

I'm getting the game either way at a later date, but I'm willing to wait for a potential confirmation that the next console will indeed boost the performance of Switch games.

This is a game I'm definitely getting, but I'd rather wait until we know more about the next console to confirm if it's backwards-compatible AND if/how OG Switch games do get boosted. Worst-case scenario, 30fps wouldn't be a dealbreaker in the slightest.

I'm glad this game didn't fall through the cracks for the reviewing selection, even with the issues that affected its score. I'll likely get it later.

It would have been so funny in the video if, instead of only Marios, the character select screen near the end only had Foxes.
And at least he specified that he was talking about the DLC roster, since it would feel weird otherwise considering how some of the echo fighters (like Daisy and Dark Samus) play exactly like their counterparts for no good reason.

I was almost certain this had been already released in the west and was quietly ignored - glad to be wrong on that front. Hopefully this gets the attention of the right people online.

I think ports of these games with adjusted colors would be more than welcome.

It would be great on paper, though I have my doubts on how well the game would run on the Switch, which is especially important considering how crucial following the beat can be for the gameplay.

@Zeroo Maybe it's less that it's a problem with Pokémon and more that your own tastes changed.

I feel it's much more likely that they will release it for the Switch 2 (or whatever it will be called).

@Nickinator They didn't specify. At the very least, it's a confirmation that the franchise is under no risk of becoming dormant like so many others.

It's really exciting that he's mentioned the RE Engine.
I've mentioned it before, but I kind of hope we get the Investigations duology and Vs. Layton (the latter now less improbable due to Level-5 resuming operations on the west) before AA7. Both so the whole story is available in modern consoles before moving it forward, and to make sure the new game looks as great as possible on the Switch 2 or whatever it will be called.

@Paraka The visual side of things is definitely less intensive than in their AAA titles, but the writing side of things probably takes a lot of time...

I hope the best for the developers if the game is indeed legit (and it seems to be).
Still, this comments section reminds me how I hate a large portion of Pokémon "fans" that act like things are much worse than they actually are.

Maybe the direction Paper Mario took wasn't such a bad thing - otherwise, a bunch of these games would probably never exist.

I'm not trying to defend them, I just don't like low effort potshots.

The Apollo Justice Trilogy is one of those titles I absolutely want to have a physical copy of, so sadly I have no idea when I'll get it (worst-case scenario, I should order it from Play-Asia near the end of this year).

Maybe it's just a "me" thing, but when people complain about pokemon having stagnant gameplay, I have absolutely no idea what they want to be done that doesn't just make it a completely different game. The closest to a satisfactory answer I got was adding the new mechanics from Legends Arceus to the main games, but even this isn't THAT much of a difference.

I thought the NA cover was kinda risqué, but then I saw the JP one... those were different times, indeed.

I loved the first game, and the only reason I didn't get this one yet is because I'm doing my absolute hardest to finish my backlog (and maybe find a good opportunity to get a physical version along the way).

That said, there's a bunch of bad to awful takes in this comments section.

@Mando44646 Is it laziness if they try to put more into the game than it can actually handle? Sure it may be technical incompetence + rushed deadlines, but laziness would be if they just copied Sword/Shield or something like that.
I'm sick of this argument.

It's good that these issues were fixed, but it's still a little bit alarming that there was this much to fix.

A small part of me wishes the next game will be a primarily single player experience, if only so we can have a dream Nintendo crossover with none of the current FGC-related baggage. But also that they port Ultimate with rollback netcode to make as many people happy as possible.

While it's obvious and understandable why they wouldn't disclose so, I wish there was some solid information regarding the motives for those threats, if only to have an idea of the source of the problem.

Finally, substantial Smash news that have nothing to do with FGC drama.
