@Nintoz Genuine question: I know there are games whose DLC go on sale on occasion (an example being Vampire Survivors), but has any of Nintendo's DLC ever been on sale by itself?

EDIT: According to DekuDeals, the DLC for Xenoblade 3 was on sale back on June 2024, and MK8's Booster Pass was also on sale at the end of the same year. So yeah, I can wait. Just a shame I can't say the same for Legends ZA's DLC (if the lack of sales for previous POkémon DLC is any indication).

I hope they announce more Switch games getting S2 upgrades, free or otherwise (preferably the former) - specifically Xenoblade DE and TTYD. Anything that interests me beyond that is a bonus.

Well, that's as good a motivation as any for them to release that supposed Switch 2 patch/update.

While I'm not satisfied with the way NIntendo handles some parts of their business, there are people here acting as if they had become EA or Microsoft, which I find a bit silly.

So the game's official site includes the very important information that VP (the points used to rent pokémon and change their stats) aren't purchasable, being only acquired through in-game activities. This is something they should have included in the presentation, and I really hope Nintendo Life can put up an article so everyone knows.

If the wooloo is any indication, there's a chance they might not have been allowed to go crazy with the character designs, but hopefully the comedy and craftsmanship will make up for it.

Both Octopath Travelers play really well on the Switch 1, so the extra power doesn't make any big difference... except for a certain section of the second one's final boss battle.

I wonder if the current version looks/runs well enough on the Switch 2, or if it warrants a (hopefully free) upgrade on the new system.

Considering I'll play it docked for the vast majority of time, I'm glad with not paying extra for a fancier screen.

@HexagonSun I mean, you would get the same benefits playing the Switch 1 cartridge on a Switch 2.

How would you compare the rumble in the new Pro Controller to the original one?

This is a complete tangent, but imagine if Porygon was introduced in the newest generation rather than the first.

@CoastersPaul I mean, we still have to see how many will buy it separately in comparison with getting it through the bundle.

I know some people don't get super comfortable with those back buttons, so I wish I had the chance to test the controller before being sure if this feature is worth it. I would certainly welcome it if it allows my hands to feel better after playing something like Hades for extended periods.

We can only hope they're developing the third game while aware of the Switch 2 specs.

Honestly, Waluigi liking Luigi makes the veracity of this whole graphic dubious at best. As does the two Donkey Kongs in the bottom-right corner.

I saw the TTYD image and got real excited for a moment, thinking they had announced a Switch 2 upgrade (free or paid).

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I may as well ask: considering the Switch 2 uses magnets, are there any precautions that need to be taken when taking it on a plane trip? (For example, bringing it back home after buying it abroad?)

I don't know how many people genuinely thought you would be charged a fee just for pressing the button unsubscribed. Hopefully very few.

@Artonide Kind of agree, but if they actually went out and said it was partially you-know-who's fault, they would attract some VERY unwanted attention from certain unpleasant people, including those in the government.

I kind of want to know what other Switch 1 games are getting free performance patches beyond those listed on that one page.

@TheMainMii What is the problem with the game key carts? You think there will be no real physical versions? It has already been stated this won't be the case. The game key carts will be an option, not a replacement for most games (although it seems some third-party releases will follow this route).

It's disheartening to see how many people still think all physical Switch 2 games are the key-card digital version. It's like they didn't even read the article and just came here to spread misinformation.

Hal being involved certainly removes weight from any exaggerated concerns that Sakurai wouldn't include any elements from the Kirby franchise that were introduced after Super Star.

Hopefully this means bluetooth headphones will work as intended, with no notable latency.

Aside from the inconvenience of having to walk to the console to turn it on, I appreciate having one less expense. Hopefully my pro controller will still last a good while.

The OT games are some of my favorite games I've played on the Switch generation (the sequel especially), and even though I already own both digitally, it's definitely tempting to get a physical copy for posterity. Maybe when it's on sale.

The possibility of the TTYD remake running at 60ps like the original on the Switch 2 is the only reason why I'm still waiting to get it. (If it's not the case, I'll get it anyway.)

@PikminMarioKirby It's literally a teaser with less than 2 minutes of footage from a game that is still in development and not coming out until next year. I don't care about the game itself, but come on.

You might want to fix that subtitle, or else people might think the vouchers won't work at all on the hardware, rather than just being limited to Switch 1 games.

It's really nice when a series is available in its entirety on the same console, and this is no exception.
...Unless you count Xenosaga and Xenogears as part of the whole thing.

Anyway, if the game gets a proper Switch 2 version and crossplay works as intended, I'll probably double-dip so my file isn't stuck on my Series S.

@slowpoke_tail Nintendo games only tend to go on digital sale around one year and a half/two years after release, so it's still a bit early for TTYD.

@sanderev I mean, they did the exactly same thing with their previous game (It Takes Two), and that came out for the Switch.

This might be part of the reason why the marketing for Pokémon is often so divorced from general Nintendo marketing nowadays.

This is a case where neither cover is bad, but one is definitely more appropriate for the game.
