It frustrates me to no end to see how many people are unable to gel with this style of storytelling and decide to label it as bad. It's like giving a bad review to an Italian restaurant because they don't serve sushi.

If we include ports from previous consoles, almost certainly the Switch. But if only those originating from the console count, I can't decide.

@CharlieGirl While I'm not happy with the increase and also think some people might be taking it too well, the way you replied isn't really the way to do it. It just sounds like a tantrum.

It would have been nice if they had brought those back before Scarlet/Violet's release... as of right now, TotK is only Switch game I care enough about to start playing as soon as possible (rather than waiting as long as necessary for a bigger discount, like Kirby and the Forgotten Land) yet not to the point where I would rather own a physical copy (like Octopath II), so assuming it gets added to the selection near release, I would still need to wait for them to announce another title that fits these specifications. So I guess I'll wait and see.

I can't think of any possible explanation for why they had dropped the vouchers other than American retailers being somehow to blame.

This is exciting if true, though I wonder what other Switch exclusive they list (aside from hopefully TotK) I may want to use them for. Maybe something to be announced soon.

Japan's kind of feels like a Bomberman parody of Castlevania inspired by Megaman covers.

I have little interest in playing Fire Emblem in general or any real feeling about these character designs, but most of the negative comments here are super annoying.

I wanted to get one during the time I went to the USA recently, but didn't find any I actually liked enough to own.

Trying to defeat the true final boss of Dandara (the one from the Trials of Fear expansion) got me to the point of feeling almost sick with anger, and forced me to essentially switch to easy mode to do it. And even then, I barely made it.

I generally prefer to get games digitally as it's almost always the only way I can actually get them, not to mention how it's cheaper for the same reasons. But when I have the opportunity (either due to going or knowing someone who's going overseas, or when the timing is just right on Play-Asia), I prefer to get physical copies for the games I consider special.

Those are super great. I remember the one with the tepig family.

It would be interesting to listen to those tracks remixed in the Undertale/Deltarune soundfont.

While I like the visuals, the way they're framed in a static 2D Plane (while more elaborate cutscenes are shown as still illustrations) is VERY reminiscent of the 8-bit games. And I also thought the music was one of the least strong aspects of 11, but going all the way back to chiptune would be a bit too far (at least for the whole soundtrack).
Anyway, I just really hope X9 is in the works.

@Mauzuri @Leonhart Looking at nearly all of their posts related to Pokémon since Sword/Shield, you'll either have to get used to this attitude or put them on ignore. I know I've gotten kind of sick of it at this point.

I'm looking forward to the review, if only to know if it looks better playing handheld or docked (and if the TV resolution makes a big difference).

@Cheez I'm kind of surprised to see a Pokémon game included. Even though that's likely because the release timing helped, it's still a pretty great, not perfect game that only people that know nothing of game development or are projecting super hard would call lazy. I still expect any of the other nominees to get the award.

I think some people didn't notice this isn't a "Top 10", but "the 10 best cases in no specific order". I mean, it starts at #1.
And I really appreciate that Turnabout for Tomorrow made it to the list.

Sometimes it sucks to be already on board for a game and have to endure marketing's attempts to appeal to those that aren't through spoilers until release day.

If Ian didn't have his hands full with writing (which can be just as important a role), he would have this in the bag.

None of the Gen IV starers are my favorites individually, but they do form the best ensemble.

That said, I hope we don't need to gather 100 of those coins to get a pokémon. I was barely able to get 2 before the golden pokéstops become rarer.

I think it makes sense that Home won't be immediately compatible with Scarlet/Violet at release. They need to make sure there won't be any bugs and issues like it was the case with BDSP, and I imagine they would want to give some sort of grace period so people can start the game as authentically as possible.

It might be too soon, but I hope Kirby and the Forgotten Land is included.

@Peach64 Which mythicals are you still missing? Depending on which ones they are and what you can trade for them, maybe I can help.

@Browny Or maybe those are just supposed to be commemorative events for people that are obviously not going to cheese the whole game with them (and new players can't either due to needing to progress to get them to obey), and this kind of thinking seems to be in extremely bad faith.

Some people here are too melodramatic.

Some of these picks are surprisingly inspired.

"Bravely Default II was well-received by fans" I'm not going to judge as I have yet to personally experience the game, but considering how I have never seen a single person praise the game in any way, shape or form, I wonder if I've just been looking at the wrong places.

@SirCarbs Bottle Caps have been a thing since Sun/Moon, and made significantly less annoying to get in later games.

This reminds me of the ridiculous sandwiches Shaggy makes.

I really hope they're not doing a repeat of the Sun/Moon marketing campaign and revealing too much before the release date.

The Gerudo are really merciless when it comes to taking weapons from trespassers.

With the consistency with which Konami has been releasing those Castlevania collections, we may see SotN coming eventually, maybe included in a likely DS collection (I mean, the Advance collection also had Dracula X, a SNES game). That said, the Sony-funded updated version (the one with a redone dub and script) may be less likely.

I haven't received anything yet, but hopefully I'm included.

@alexybubble Believe it or not, for the longest time the only Gen V pokémon in the game has been crustle - that hermit crab with the huge rock block on its back.

It's a bit absurd that after all this time, zoroark is still only the second pokémon from Gen V to be added (while the same batch includes the third Gen III pokémon with sableye).

Pretty great review, and definitely another one for my list. The closest thing I got to a (minor) complaint is the fact the game is another prequel - I'm curious to know in more detail what happened with some of those characters after the events of the original story.

Hopefully this means we actually see actual, big-name, recognizably Nintendo games properly localized to Portuguese - although they did already start with Mario & Sonic at the Tokyo Olympics and Mario Party Superstars.

It's a shame this is one of those shinies that just look like the same 'mon under a different light.
