I can confirm the Target I went into had a few left in stock when I went to grab some groceries. Had a sign next to it saying “new batch”. Wouldn’t surprise me if it ran out again by the time I finished shopping considering how crowded the electronics section was.
Nice to know S2 isn’t at “months of nothing” levels of bad stock like during those PS5 days. Means I can get one later at my convenience when enough good S2 games is on the platform.
How is “too much customization” ever a Con? If anything it’s a Pro because a lot of RPGs end up being on the lighter side of customization to the detriment of players that likes having options. You would rather complain about “too much” than too little especially in the space of a RPG.
If anything in the context of Cyberpunk it still wasn’t enough compared to the initial tech demo that hinted all sorts of things that never got into the final game at latest patch.
Anyway multiple outlets already tested and S2 version of Cyperpunk is a better experience then if you tried to play Cyberpunk on portable PC machines like the Steam Deck thanks to the S2 version being tailor made optimized for the S2 ecosystem. You usually have to tone down the graphics a ton to get close to that performance level.
Factor in that they didn’t cut corners from the game optimization itself to releasing it as a true physical makes it a good grab period.
Kind of ironic that the play might be to just get the S1 versions of certain third party games because it’s either cheaper then the S2 counterpart overall and/or actually gives you the entire game on a cart unlike the S2 version. You still get to play the S2 version anyway with S1 cart + patch + maybe $10 upgrade for S2 version.
S2 third party I feel is gonna be a hassle because they are gonna do either code in the box or a half assed game key cards. Unfortunately lot of publishers gonna cut corners unlike Cyberpunk
People acting surprised here that Welcome Tour did well is funny. It’s $10 and there is NOTHING new on S2 that isn’t a port besides Mario Kart World specifically for the Switch 2. People are gonna touch the new toys.
I think people forgot that crap like 1-2 Switch did good purely because it was a launch title with little competition as well.
Any Switch game that failed to reach whatever the frame rate cap is gonna get improvements by default even without any direct optimization.
It’s “brute forcing” the solution. Any game that couldn’t consistently hit 30 on a 30 cap or if the game is uncapped and can hit closer/at 60 now.
It shouldn’t be limited to better frames too. Faster load times and better resolution if your dynamic should be achievable too.
Direct optimization is still preferable for the smoothest experience, but if your a Switch 1 game with uncapped 60 with dynamic resolution then your gonna benefit the most from just raw playing the game again on a Switch 2.
Meanwhile consumers are not thanking them. I don’t buy any of those cut corners.
Publishers unfortunately are abusing them. In theory they were meant for games that were either too big or indie publishers that couldn’t afford the carts. Meanwhile crap like the Bravery Default remaster is not a true physical.
Sorry, but you can’t convince me that Square Enix, Capcom, Sega, etc couldn’t fit even their old port games on a 64 cart (especially after compression) or it was too expensive when CyberPunk with dlc was able to accomplish that.
Guess I’ll just buy Nintendo first parties + third parties that don’t cut corners on product delivery.
This reads more bug fixes than performance/graphic improvements. They would use more specific language like what they did with Scarlet/Violet if it was frames improvement.
That said that doesn’t mean there isn’t gonna be performance improvements.
BoTW and Tears for example on this list is already confirmed to play better on the Switch 2.
Yeah this isn’t a screen protector. It’s just to prevent the person from getting hurt from a cracked screen. These don’t conflict with screen protectors at all. Lot of phones and other portable devices has these.
Well that didn’t take long. As someone else mentioned this error isn’t even present in the other languages. Won’t stop certain people to milk what they can get I guess.
@Wexter Do you even know the context of WHY W101 Remastered got ported in the first place?
It took many moving parts for it to make it work out: Platinum doing a crowdfunding to not just port, but add some stuff, Nintendo giving permission (the big one. Nintendo wasn’t the one that initiated on W101 to be remaster/ported that I feel lot of the port people here are forgetting/ignorant about) , and obviously said game having little value that it actually makes sense to multi platform port to begin with. W101 was a flop even by Platinum standards. It worked because a third party was willing to do the legwork for them (multi platform porting + more content) and Nintendo wasn’t getting any real value off the IP. The vast majority of other Nintendo IP is not in this situation at all. For example do you see Atlus going out of their way to do this for Tokyo Mirage Sessions? lol.
W101 hardly set a precedence. It was painfully obvious of it being a unique outlier that if other Nintendo games are NOT like in a situation exactly like W101 then a port isn’t happening.
Nintendo isn’t Sony and certainly not MS. Nintendo has way more first parties being made and more importantly way more first parties that sell very well even on one platform compared to Sony/MS.
Nintendo is not in a Sony situation given how well their first parties sell. Porting Mario or Pokemon right now would just shoot themselves on the foot because we both know that would result in less hardware sales + Nintendo games in other selling markets means Nintendo gets less cut of software sales compared to Eshop. Steam store alone takes 30% when they could have got the whole pie if they just bought off Eshop. Considering the amount of PC gamers that own a Nintendo device anyway to play Nintendo first parties there isn’t any real need to port.
Switch 2 would have to be a massive flop to even have this discussion even entertained in the future. Like I said earlier: Nintendo gives more attention to mobile market then PC market and mobile market doesn’t even get ports from them despite most modern smartphones very capable of running a lot of their games since a modern IPhone is stronger then a Switch 1. People here jumping up and down begging for PC ports are just setting themselves up for disappointment.
Not the first time MS made a blunder like this. Intern or maybe AI. I remember a couple years back they did a random 2D Zelda game before it got removed pretty quickly.
Cue the people gonna take any opportunity (no matter how unlikely) to port beg for PC though.
Gonna be like what happened with Wonderful 101 (with people willfully ignoring the very important context for why that was the exception and not the rule.) Remastered where we had that brief period where people assumed the floodgates are opened and Mario, Pokemon, Zelda, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, Metroid, etc was gonna be sold on the Steam store too.
You know give inch take mile and all that.
Just to give you all some perspective on how Nintendo sees the PC market…Nintendo actually gives some levels of attention to the mobile market unlike PC (Nintendo has several apps at this point) and the mobile market doesn’t even get old game console ports off Nintendo. You’re getting Mario Jump not Mario Odyssey. You’re getting Mario Kart Tour not Mario Kart World. You’re getting Fire Emblem Heros not Fire Emblem three houses.
@Sensible Nintendo isn’t even the only one in the party for the “$80 club” as well already. More and more in the industry is hopping on board and using “Tariffs” as a get-out-of-jail free card to justify increased pricing.
End of the day people criticize based on biases. People will hate on one game’s price choice, but defend another game with the same price because of subjective sense of “it’s worth it”. There are gonna be more BL4 types of fiascos. GTAVI price reveal is gonna be popcorn material for sure.
Got a laugh reading here that graphics of all things is remotely an indicator for how “finished” a videogame is.
By that logic every Switch 1 game is “unfinished” if we are just gonna start arbitrarily comparing their graphic specs to the latest Ubislop AAAA game for example because of someone’s bias.
Which in itself is pure irony when Ubislop is infamous for releasing “unfinished” games anyway to the point that Ubislop had to advertise that Shadows was totally gonna be a “finished” game on release as a selling point unlike their usual playbook of launch being a mess and they might slowly fix some of the issues post launch.
Oh, but their games have nice graphics though so that has to be a “complete” game still right?
Anyone here that unironically thought that every Nintendo game was gonna be $80/90 was being intentionally disingenuous for the sake of spreading discourse.
Not every Switch 1 game turned out to be $70 post Tears of the Kingdom surprise surprise. Turns out it’s a case-by-case basis which anyone with half a brain would have figured out.
Nintendo knows people (I’m talking about the millions that will buy not the few dozen on these sites speaking otherwise) will pay $80-$90 for open world non port Mario Kart.
Mario Kart was literally their main bread from Switch 1. I don’t see those price tags happening on 2nd and 3rd string Nintendo titles or even some of their 1st strings. How many of you will actually bet money MP4 will be priced like Mario Kart?
@PikminMarioKirby You…do realize this is Pokemon right…? S/V also was a “low quality product” and it just recently surpassed Sword/Shield lifetime another high selling Pokemon game. So yeah…quite a bit of people will buy this game whether you like it or not.
If people already bought a $70 Zelda game (which btw Tears struggled on the Switch 1) which sold amazingly…it doesn’t require much critical thinking to come to the conclusion people are willing to buy a $70 Pokemon as well. Don’t take my word alone for it though. Just look at the inevitable sales this upcoming Fall.
Yeah think I will pass on being trampled by a 400 pound land whale and punched by dude in a tank top in that mad dash if they think “first come first serve” is gonna be remotely safe. Also good luck at not being robbed assuming you managed to get one in that mosh pit.
This kind of crap needs to honestly stay in the past era. Just preorder online and pick up in the store at that day at your convenience. You know the smart and safe way.
It still came off as incredibly tone deaf. Yeah I’m sure Randy won’t notice the difference of the economy on his salary where $80 is no big deal and might as well be toilet paper.
There is NO defending on Gearbox for that. Should have just focused/leaned on how massive the game will be (you know like how Nintendo marketed Mario Kart World) and not “lol just find the money if you TRUE FAN” as a marketing strategy. Deserved the blowback 100%. Anyone here defending that deserves that same blowback.
Also love how game industry is using “tariffs” as the default move to explain/justify increased prices yet funny enough are silent on why prices are not going DOWN when it’s digital. In any case, based on how BL3 came out it’s smarter to wait for a sale for BL4.
No reason to get this if they want to be lazy to skip a real physical. Sorry, but Yakuza 0 could definitely fit in a 64 cartridge especially after the usual compressions.
Game Key cards are stupid especially when it’s not even just giant games using them. Sorry, but I doubt anyone here can legitimately defend game key card of Bravery Default for example.
Can’t take that crap seriously when I see a giant game like CyberPunk getting an actual legit physical release on Switch 2.
@mlt Nah. First Underground had a better career/story with the classic “from nothing to fame” skater growth fantasy.
Second Underground was basically JackAss with Skateboarding. The humor 100% went that direction. Second Underground basically just had the better QoL, Skater roster (although lot of them being joke characters), and stages that you would expect from a sequel. I don’t see a reason why you can’t drop both in a collection since that is the route they been going with anyway.
That is totally doable as long as they can have stock to consistently meet with demand. People forgot that early Switch 1 life had stock issues to deal with.
@TrogdorTheBurninator Mario Kart World should not be underestimated as a software alone. Mario Kart was a top seller for the Switch 1 for a reason. Reminder people still bought MK8D (which in itself in an enhanced port of a Wii U game unlike World being its own game) years after it originally came out at full retail when it never got a permanent price cut. I don’t realistically see sales collapse just because it’s $80 especially if there are no other games to buy at the time anyway.
There are also other high consumer demand software coming later that year. This is Nintendo. They are not gonna struggle with 1st party software sales when they got a thick binder of 1st party software that sold at least a million copies with the Switch 1.
This guy shouldn’t be yapping if new GTA ends up being $100 WITHOUT the obvious online monetization that is going to get stuffed in as well.
Also people here fail to realize that their personal bias are being at play if they think $100 GTA is arbitrarily OK, but a MK costing $80 isn’t.
Last I checked both series are incredibly popular that people played for years since they dropped so there is always an argument that it’s “ok” if at the end of the day the consumer still ends up purchasing day 1 all the same instead of protesting with their wallet and skipping.
Personally I don’t find EITHER of those scenarios OK, but it is what it is. I’m just not gonna suddenly give GTA a pass just because “oh it’s fine because it’s an open world murder sim in nice graphics.”
Also got a laugh that someone here actually used DQ monsters as a “gotcha!” attempt comparison when they don’t remotely look the same to Pokemon. It’s not even remotely the same as the Palworld monster comparison. Which is beside the point since that is not what these patents are going for anyway. It’s the literal 1:1 rips Pocketpair lazily ripped off.
People here being clueless about why Palworld got singled out is obvious. SquareEnix isn’t like Pocketpair. Square Enix did the bare minimum to separate itself. Pocketpair didn’t. Square Enix didn’t 1:1 violate patents. Pocketpair did. Not a hard concept to grasp. With the amount of money/attention the game got at this point there was zero chance of being able to maintain a low profile when it waves the flag of “Pokemon with guns”
People here can list other monster collecting games like Digimon all they want, but none of them violated the patents like Palworld did.
People defending Pocketpair just because they like Palworld because “it’s Pokemon done right” or whatever should know that has zero relevance to the blatant wrongs Pocketpair knowingly committed.
So much for the people here previously claiming Palworld devs “won’t back down” to Nintendo in a legal battle over blatant patent violations.
Sorry, but as someone that played both no way Palworld was gonna emerge unscathed since lot of their stuff wasn’t just “inspirations”, but literal copies. People here can go “what about X game?!” all day, but what matters is if Palworld violated the patents which they did end of story.
I get lot of you hate Nintendo lately, but Pocketpair IMO deserves even more hate for how creatively bankrupt they are. If the game actually had innovation then Pocketpair wouldn’t be in this situation to begin with, but they wanted to be leeches and see just how much they can get away with.
Will crap on everything else specs wise, but raw specs isn’t everything. Sheesh that looks both ugly and uncomfortable. I also expect the battery to die fast too for current gen.
Cool they added an English dub for this, but long since got used to Japanese Kiryu and especially Majima. Their stoic and craziness respectively is difficult to emulate which fits the Japanese themes of Yakuza as a whole. Hearing English dub Kiryu in last game didn’t give the best impression though.
@Glasso Yup. Don’t care how some people here want to downplay censorship. If there is a version available that has less censorship then I support that version simple as that.
Too bad Nintendo lately been dropping the ball on that front when most of Switch 1 life they were pretty good which was why I never touched Sony versions for example back then.
Game was a major disappointment. Had high hopes as a SW fan. Game needs a Cyberpunk/No Man Sky level of turnaround bare minimum. It tried to be the Red Dead Redemption Star Wars and came up way too short.
The first Red Dead that came out several years ago to the point that it got a rerelease did a better job as being an outlaw open world game with bullet time mechanics. Hell it’s embarrassing when you see videos comparing RDR2 and Outlaws despite the latter being the newer game. It’s pretty obvious Ubisoft tried to cut corners as usual with their latest batch of open world games
That is the issue with Ubisoft these days. They try to inspire themselves with elements of past successful games, but the end product just feels watered out and mid at best.
It also doesn’t help that the protagonist has the charisma of a wet towel in this game. She is no Han Solo.
People who downplay the criticism/flop of this game usually making the excuse that “it’s because PC is not a Jedi” is clueless. If everything else remained the same, but she can swing around a light saber now and force push it would still be negatively received
All in all I would have been more excited to see RDR2 port on Switch 2 then this game.
Anyone thought Switch 2 wasn’t gonna sell just because of a machine being $450 or games being $70-$80 are being completely clueless.
Ton of people will complain for months, but end up caving in the end to buy it because of various reasons like “well I can still afford it” or “it’s not like it was that much cheaper before + it has games I want.”
Of course the screen was gonna be worse compared to the Steam Deck OLED. The Switch 2 doesn’t have OLED. Would be a more accurate comparison by comparing the launch Steam Deck LCD with the Switch 2.
Did anyone think otherwise? It was really a vocal minority complaining online about the pricing when it’s all said and done.
Also most of the said complaining wasn’t even about the console being $450 or whatever the region equivalent is. It was about the “$90 games” which is irrelevant toward the hardware purchasing especially if people are gonna treat it like a PS5 and play their old games on it anyway.
Anyone hoping this thing will flop here will be blind as the “experts” that thought the Switch 1 would flop.
@Antraxx777 You must not have played Oblivion vanilla. It’s nothing like Skyrim for example. In Skyrim if I wanted to be a Stealth Archer, a War Hammer Barbarian, Sword Mage, or be a Pacifist then the game doesn’t actively work against those interests. Just choose the trees you want doesn’t matter if you level up from blacksmith as long you meet thresholds to still develop one-hand if you want to use one hand weapons.
Oblivion does a lot of things right. Even some better than Skyrim. The leveling/scaling wasn’t one of them.
Oblivion leveling is janky as hell with how they did minor/major skill stat rolling + the “don’t level up too early” and the reason the top mods for Oblivion is various changes to the leveling system.
For context in vanilla it’s difficult to even properly build a character direction you are aiming for without a spreadsheet because for example jumping too much at a specific level can mess with a stat build and lead to undesirable results.
Then you factor in with the terrible enemy scaling (Which Morrowind didn’t have) as you level up with those bricked stats where you have a bricked character on significantly harder enemies (level 1 runs was always easier then 30) it can ruin the fun of the run.
If the Freedom Wars Remaster can go back and fix one of its badly aged critical issues (craft system) then it shouldn’t be hard for Oblivion considering there have been mods for years for their level system.
If they don’t want to touch their archaic level system then they definitely NEED to fix the enemy level scaling. Even the people that defends vanilla level system rarely ever defends that. Skyrim scaling was much more balanced for the most part where some enemies scaled, but others didn’t. Lot had caps for said scale as well. Even the scaled enemies was made more bearable though because you had the better level system so your planned character builds can deal with bandits with better gear that can sponge more at that point fine.

Re: Nintendo Music Adds More Than 100 Pokémon Songs In The Latest Update
This game had a better soundtrack then S/V so glad to see
Re: Yep, Tony Hawk Fancies An 'Underground' Remaster Too
Re: Japanese Charts: The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy Storms To The Top
Did worse then Rain Code. Not exactly a number you want to see when devs admits this is their “make or break” game.

Re: Here Are The Top Ten Best-Selling Nintendo Switch Games As Of March 2025
I expect Mario Kart World to be the #1 Switch 2 seller for years to come as well.
Re: Nintendo Expects To Sell 15 Million Switch 2 Consoles This Financial Year
That is totally doable as long as they can have stock to consistently meet with demand.
Re: Former Rockstar Dev Throws Shade At Mario Kart World, Says New GTA Will Be Worth The Price
Re: Xbox Branded Handheld Photos Leak, And It's Not Quite As Slick As The Switch 2
@Rykdrew You missed the point. Raw battery capacity alone isn’t everything. It’s about current gen games being heavy juice sucking.
You can’t get both taking advantage of the ROG specs on current high spec setting AAA games while having a good battery life.
The Switch 2 has a better battery capacity then the Switch 1 yet has lower estimated battery life. Why do you think that is?
Re: Palworld Dev Announces "Disappointing" Game Changes Resulting From Nintendo's Lawsuit
Re: Palworld Dev Announces "Disappointing" Game Changes Resulting From Nintendo's Lawsuit
Re: Xbox Branded Handheld Photos Leak, And It's Not Quite As Slick As The Switch 2
Will crap on everything else specs wise, but raw specs isn’t everything. Sheesh that looks both ugly and uncomfortable. I also expect the battery to die fast too for current gen.
Re: SEGA Announces English Voiceover Cast For Yakuza 0: Director's Cut
Cool they added an English dub for this, but long since got used to Japanese Kiryu and especially Majima. Their stoic and craziness respectively is difficult to emulate which fits the Japanese themes of Yakuza as a whole. Hearing English dub Kiryu in last game didn’t give the best impression though.
Re: 'The Hundred Line' Dev Too Kyo Games Is Still "On The Brink Of Going Under"
@Glasso Yup. Don’t care how some people here want to downplay censorship. If there is a version available that has less censorship then I support that version simple as that.
Too bad Nintendo lately been dropping the ball on that front when most of Switch 1 life they were pretty good which was why I never touched Sony versions for example back then.
Re: Shuhei Yoshida On Higher Switch 2 Game Prices: "It Was Going To Happen Eventually"
Yeah I knew this comment section was gonna go places when people acting like ToTK started the $70 trend. Sorry that wasn’t a Nintendo thing.
Re: Opinion: Switch 2 Finally Gives Star Wars Outlaws A Second Chance
Re: Limited Run's Atlus Switch 2 Collector's Edition Is A 'Game-Key Card' Release
Easy skip. If they don’t want to physical then you might as well play Steam games
Re: Analyst Predicts Record-Breaking Launch Numbers For Switch 2
Anyone thought Switch 2 wasn’t gonna sell just because of a machine being $450 or games being $70-$80 are being completely clueless.
Ton of people will complain for months, but end up caving in the end to buy it because of various reasons like “well I can still afford it” or “it’s not like it was that much cheaper before + it has games I want.”
Re: Bravely Default On Switch 2 May Have Removed One Of The Game's Best Features
Bought a lot of SE games on Switch 1 because they didn’t cut corners. They cut corners with this game a ton so skip from me.
Re: Atlus Reveals 'RAIDOU Remastered' Switch 2 Performance And Resolution
If they want to cut corners with the Switch 2 release then they get less sales as a result I guess
Re: Marvelous USA Confirms Its Switch 2 Physical Releases Will Contain The "Full Game"
I buy actual game cartridge with full games. Not keys and certainly not codes.
Re: Switch 2 "Code-In-A-Box" Physical Game Listing Spotted Online
Wonder how many people again will stroll in here to finger wag wondering why people have a problem about no actual physical.
Re: Digital Foundry Delivers First Impressions Of Switch 2 - "It Stands Alone In What It Does"
Of course the screen was gonna be worse compared to the Steam Deck OLED. The Switch 2 doesn’t have OLED. Would be a more accurate comparison by comparing the launch Steam Deck LCD with the Switch 2.
Re: Nintendo Won't Have Enough Switch 2 Consoles To Satisfy Demand In Japan
Not looking good for the people hoping Switch 2 flops…
Re: Opinion: Steam Deck Fans Are Seriously Underestimating The Switch 2
I’m gonna expect another handful of Steam Deck comparison articles before the Switch 2 properly launches.
Re: Major French Retailer Says Switch 2 Pre-Orders At "Historic Level"
Did anyone think otherwise? It was really a vocal minority complaining online about the pricing when it’s all said and done.
Also most of the said complaining wasn’t even about the console being $450 or whatever the region equivalent is. It was about the “$90 games” which is irrelevant toward the hardware purchasing especially if people are gonna treat it like a PS5 and play their old games on it anyway.
Anyone hoping this thing will flop here will be blind as the “experts” that thought the Switch 1 would flop.
Re: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Is Set To Be Officially Announced Tomorrow
