One is for the console gamer enjoyer that enjoys the simple gaming experience regardless of their technology literacy. There is a reason why both little kids and the elderly who never looked up a guide could play games with little to no issue.
Steam Deck no matter how much they try to “dummy proof” it…it’s still at the end of the day a PC. That makes it more complicated then a gaming console by default.
It puts more burden on the player to tinker for optimal experience. There are also plenty of games that don’t straight up work period on a Steam Deck on the default IOS without heavy tinkering I.E you need to install windows, you need to open on desktop mode, you need to DL X mod, etc.
I own both a S1 and a Steam Deck and it’s night and day difference for “ease-of-use” and the S2 only refines for the better from the S1.
They knew nobody would buy the S2 version if they offered an upgrade path from the S1 physical cartridges. Key cards was really a mistake. SE in particular doesn’t care at all at cheaping even if their games are small.
At this rate looks like most of my S2 library is gonna be first parties and way less third parties this time around because if I’m not getting a legitimate physical then at that point I would rather just play a digital copy on PC.
No idea why people thought this was gonna be a game key release. Mario Kart World wasn’t a key release either. 1st parties isn’t gonna be an issue at all regarding key releases because
1. They are not gonna be bigger then a 64 cart on release
2. Nintendo is not gonna cheap out on their own software to kill their own sales ceiling potential.
It’s most third parties is what you got to look out for.
Only pirates will defend this lol. It’s not even the “I just want to emulate my old Nintendo game 20+ years ago for muh preservation”. People. These are literally games that just came out.
Get off with this nonsense.
Being poor also isn’t a justification to steal as much as some yappers tried to go for that angle of argument in the last article. You are stealing videogames- a luxury good. You don’t need that crap to live.
Stop pretending like you will die if you don’t steal videogames. Stop postering like stealing videogames is like stealing bread to feed your family. Quite frankly that is just embarrassing. Leech sites that don’t produce anything of value unlike game developers are better off gone. No need to bootlick these self proclaimed “Robin Hoods” that want to profit off you.
There is a difference between being a constant stuttering mess by default like Scarlet/Violet and what Tears was on S1 where you have to go out of your way to make it a stuttering mess with the constructs.
If this game belongs to the latter because player doesn’t intentionally try to test limits with the constant environmental destruction/construction then game will be received fine. Most players will just play the game like a 3D platformer. A 60 briefly going to 55 isn’t bad either if that is the “hiccups” during combat.
S2 growth rate is still ahead of S1 (gap widening) during the same period btw. Still waiting on that crystal ball prophecy “S2 gonna do worse then S1” rhetoric to remotely hint at happening.
Just in case some of you going for the “it’s gonna slow down!” we literally have another likely system seller game about to drop that will continue growth momentum and people already have to drop the “only has one game” nonsense which Sony is way more guilty of to begin with for how slow their first party output is.
I completely forgot about that VA fiasco. I hope I forget it again soon because I don’t like to give attention to a blatant controversy by an attention seeking lying VA. If there was a VA that ACTUALLY DESERVED to be blacklisted it would be her.
Pro Tip for life: A woman is not always in the right by default as much as this boggles Social Media. Women don’t get a free pass to smear someone’s name.
Yeah there are like 20+ of these movies, but pretty sure the first 3? were notable because they had widespread theater releases (outside Japan) back when anime movies were popular at your local theater where it came with promotions and all of that marketing instead of the 98% straight to dvd tier.
Back when Pokemon, Digimon, and YUGIOH being in the theater was a big deal for kids and family would take them for their “cartoons”
Anyway random trivia: Pokemon 2000 I believe was the first time Ash/Satoshi the main protagonist got a kiss onscreen (With Misty being jealous back when Misty used to have that reoccurring crush subplot early in the show that went absolutely nowhere in the end.) with of course the former being absolutely clueless. Obviously not counting random kisses based on comedy gags/zero romance intentioned.
@Cronodoug Ironic when you say “look at the numbers!” when S2 numbers is already bigger then S1 objectively speaking despite your faulty “it’s too expensive for people to buy them!” premise.
Which is nonsensical to begin with when S2 isn’t even close to the most expensive of the game machines that people still buy anyway despite any social media griping from a loud minority.
No idea why people here acting confident S1 could never be surpassed by another Nintendo console (this early on top of that) especially by one that can play S1 games. I guess not enough crow was eaten yet. Next few years gonna be interesting train crash spectacle here from “experts” like you yes sir.
@jojobar Steam Deck (or any portable PC machine for that matter) never got close to either the Wii U or the PS Vita both of which was considered industry failures. The “PC portable machines gonna deflate S2 hype” had to be the dumbest of the copes I had seen on S2 prerelease.
Very safe take considering the S2 is already ahead of the S1 (and every other game console) just from the launch.
S2 already debunked the “S1 fatigue” “too many people won’t be able to afford it” and “people will get portable PC machines this time” excuse nonsense I seen here and other places to downplay the S2.
Review bombs are stupid especially when they all are 0/10s which I don’t care HOW MUCH you hate that patch…Mario Kart World objectively is not a 0/10. Pretty sure Metacritic deletes review bombs anyway and vast majority of people who buy/enjoy games don’t ever look at Metacritic scores.
Meanwhile at Nintendo the CEO usually takes a pay cut if it came to that, but they actually give worker raises instead.
Also barely six figure salary isn’t impressive if you are relying on that for a family and not living in a roach motel class apartment with high crime. Keep in mind most of those entry levels likely have college debt to pay off as well. If your a game developer in overpriced area like Metro California then good luck to you if you didn’t win the RNG generation wealth spawn lottery.

100% deserved. Imagine securing yourself a great gig for over a decade because you are good at a GameCube game, but flushing it down the drain because you can’t separate what you do in public and private.
Doing drinking games on Stream while you are sponsored and acting like a fool as a result would put any sponsor in a tight bind. He is likely gonna be blacklisted too from other sponsors especially if other event organizers auto ban him.
I don’t know what is wrong with the “Pro” Smash community lol. This isn’t even close to their worst controversies. They need to start acting like adults.
Stupid. Libraries actually have more security then you would expect with lot of them having police stations not that far away or cops posted in close proximity.
Libraries are supposed to represent a peaceful setting for the general public to gain knowledge, relax, or just do work quietly. Children also hang out regularly at the place with the programs and children areas they usually have.
Sorry, but if you’re doing crimes at a public library of all places then you 100% absolutely deserve to get arrested. Criminal sympathizer people can’t even go “why are you defending a corporation?!” when you are robbing a place fueld by tax dollars and private citizen donations.
If Nintendo isn’t “pumping out enough games” then what is Sony and Microsoft gonna be classified as?
I checked the PS5 Sony exclusive game list on the wiki which includes upcoming games….and it’s barely a footnote in size compared to S1 Nintendo exclusive game list.
FYI the S2 current “roadmap” for first parties from Nintendo for what we know so far in Year 1 also heavily mogs PS5 exclusive game output for year 1.
So clickbait is clickbait. Nintendo still has the first party output on lockdown in the industry. I doubt a new 3D Mario game is gonna be that far off. It just makes zero sense to have a 3D Mario in close proximity as a 3D DK.
The screen could be better. It’s hard to go back from a S1 OLED. That said the screen quality isn’t a high priority for me.
I care more about battery life capacity and that imo is the S2 low point so hopefully in the future revisions they address that. Whether they improve battery consumption efficiency, improve the battery life itself, or a combo of both. Like yeah it’s nice that S2 can run more beefier games now compared to the S1, but now that battery is gonna drain quicker as a tradeoff which isn’t ideal for a handheld experience.
@AmplifyMJ What was a game system launch that didn’t “slow” on week 2? Where week 2 sold more then launch week? lol. Also “returns”? Really? What system never had returns? Doom Posters need better material.
@tsim21 because industry is biased toward high game specs over hardware innovation or just fun games period.
You should have looked at how said industry “experts” treated the S1 before release. Acted how it was DoA. The S2 also got similar treatment with people downplaying how it’s only a PS4.5 in an era where people want 4k 120 FPS, etc or game is “trash”. How RoG Alley makes S2 obsolete and other nonsense.
@Duncanballs tbf MK8 had both an enhanced rerelease via MK8D for the Switch release + the giant booster pass later on adding a lot more content. Wii U launch MK8 is a very different game than S1 MK8D today. I doubt World isn’t gonna get something down the line.
So you committed yourself to rob a truck risking prison or your very life, but decide to hit a truck full of a game console you can’t even effectively scalp?
Back in my day criminals would go for armored cash/gold transport vehicles if they wanted to risk prison/life.
How is extra existing content ever a “loss for the fans”…? Even for the people that hates said content they still have the option to ignore it. So screw the people that liked that content I guess?
That is like if the Persona 4 remake drops all the Golden content/QoL enhancements because “Persona 4 vanilla on PS2 is a complete game and adding Golden content would be a loss for fans of the PS2 version.”
No idea how he said that nonsense with a straight face. I get that this is PR and he has to put a positive spin on everything, but yikes was that tough to read.
I bought the all the previous Trails on S1 that got genuine physicals starting with Cold Steel III. I got Cold Steel I and II still on my Vita. Again they did physical. Not buying any of these for S2 if they are gonna cut corners simple as that.
At that point I can just buy it on PC then if I’m not gonna get a physical anyway.
Still think going Live Action for Zelda was the wrong move.
Especially with the trend of pure live action adaption of videogames doing badly. There is a reason why Mario went full animation and Sonic/Detective Pikachu/Minecraft/etc at least went half animation.
@Athropos Yeah it’s weird that swollen battery of all things is the hill you want do die on for hating the S2. Just say the S2 is “Too expensive” or “Has no games” if you want something remotely more legitimate of a reason.
As if swollen batteries aren’t already an issue for battery operated consumer electronics in general. At that point you might as well live like the Amish if you want zero percent chance of swollen batteries.
Seriously a “revised” S2 that some “experts” suggested here isn’t gonna address the (low) possibility that it gets shipped with a swollen battery anyway. What next? Demand a revision of that revision?
I’m sorry, but they deserve that for being that stupid. Seriously you want to do shady crap on the S2 that barely came out with Nintendo being extra vigilant on the device? Yeah GL convincing Nintendo it’s “legal” if that was your big move.
Why not do this crap with the S1when it inevitably stops being sold soon? Not even a pirate, but there is a reason nobody gives a crap if you’re modding a PS Vita or a 3DS right now.
FYI there has been reports for this over the years for the Switch 1, PS Vita, PSP, and portable PC machines like the Steam Deck and ROG Alley. Happens to non videogame centric machines too with batteries. It’s why lot of user manuals include warning about battery related issues and to call the various phone numbers immediately if you see them. Usually involves them giving you either a new battery or new machine entirely when you swap it.
This is more of an isolated incident regarding the specific battery manufacturing and less to do with Nintendo themselves. It’s unfortunately gonna happen to a few “Lucky” people. Battery Swelling unfortunately is gonna eventually happen to someone.
This isn’t “Red Ring of Death” tier of widespread hardware defection levels otherwise there would have been thousands and thousands of complaints already about it lol
Reminder that DF isn’t the Gospel. They are hardly the only ones that does extensive game testing and their takes is prone to bias just like anyone else’s.
Just look how a certain someone conducted himself when he talked about Stellar Blade lol.
I don’t even use them especially regarding Nintendo games since they have weird benchmarks regarding their platform comparison and are especially noticeably bias in favor regarding to portable PC machines.
It’s literally a major net + change. Losing some BG detail (in certain content) that most people wouldn’t even notice until they are being told (like this patch notes) is not a big deal when you got frame stability, faster load times, resolution, etc.
@Anti-Matter Lol your comments are Subjective as hell in the interest of being anti Nintendo. Everyone here knows about your Sony bias undertones at this point.
People here were wrong again with their hot takes. More at Eleven. If you thought the S1 fanbase size was gonna exodus in droves to Steam Deck or whatever over a $10 price increase for Software of all things (hint: Sony and MS isn’t above that including third parties) then don’t know what to tell you.
People that love Mario Kart or whatever popular Nintendo IP is gonna play the system that has it. Simple as that. It’s a system that is a safe investment for games when you just take one look at the successful S1 exclusive library.
Not surprised. UK has been Nintendo’s weakest trackable region for years so it wasn’t gonna beat Sony or MS. The Japan results will be interesting though.
People were wrong about how the Switch 1 LCD will sell
People were wrong about how the Switch 1 OLED will sell
People were wrong about how the S2 will sell.
Go figure. Turns out most of the online noise let their biases influence their rationality and jump the gun that just because game is $10 more or because portable PC machine exists that the S2 would be DoA.
@TwinFami You got less then two hours (especially on the LCD Steam Deck) if you played anything modern AAA that isn’t set to low settings.
Even something like Spider-Man (1st game) drained the deck battery fast on the LCD Steam deck. Low battery life was actually one of the main complaints of the LCD Steam Deck.
It’s literally a portable PC machine with another coat of paint. It’s not remotely a threat to Switch 2 just like how Steam Deck wasn’t a threat to the Switch 1 OLED.
Also people complaining about the S2 price is gonna be up for a surprise when they eventually reveal the price for that thing. Their “cheap” end usually opens at $600 and that was before the price hikes.
So an optional gimmick feature tanked the score that much? Meanwhile the features that people care about: Better frames, resolution, and reduced load times is present. Yeah still a 10/10 for me chief.
10/10 when sticking with the classic Japanese cast.
Why downgrade from voice acting performance perfection just because you can’t be bothered to read despite you doing that all the time without thinking about it in daily life anyway?

Re: Best Rune Factory Games Of All Time
Still like RF3 mainly because it has the most bachelorette choices/variety. Let’s be real that is the main draw that makes the series stand out.
There is better series if you want farm sims and/or combat.
Re: Video: Digital Foundry Delivers Its Cyberpunk 2077 Tech Review On Switch 2
Reminder that DF isn’t the Gospel. They are hardly the only ones that does extensive game testing and their takes is prone to bias just like anyone else’s.
Just look how a certain someone conducted himself when he talked about Stellar Blade lol.
I don’t even use them especially regarding Nintendo games since they have weird benchmarks regarding their platform comparison and are especially noticeably bias in favor regarding to portable PC machines.
Re: Switch 2 Is Officially The "Fastest-Selling Nintendo Hardware" Ever In The US
Seeing all those YT meltdown videos from haters is funny. They all greatly exaggerated the so called “problems” when numbers says otherwise.
Re: PSA: Splatoon 3 On Switch Has Made Some Cuts To Keep Pace With Switch 2
It’s literally a major net + change. Losing some BG detail (in certain content) that most people wouldn’t even notice until they are being told (like this patch notes) is not a big deal when you got frame stability, faster load times, resolution, etc.
Re: Japanese Charts: Switch 2 Crushes PS2 To Become Fastest-Selling Console Ever
Inb4 Jimbo announces “actually….PS2 sold even more copies during this time…”
Also glad to see S2 do well despite the attempts of some people in gaslighting that the system would flop because “too expensive”.
Re: It's Official, Switch 2 Has Sold Over 3.5 Million Units Globally In Its First Four Days
@Anti-Matter Lol your comments are Subjective as hell in the interest of being anti Nintendo. Everyone here knows about your Sony bias undertones at this point.
Re: It's Official, Switch 2 Has Sold Over 3.5 Million Units Globally In Its First Four Days
If anything I’m glad the “I saw a Switch 2 at my local Target so that is irrefutable proof it flopped” meme posts will finally stop.
Re: It's Official, Switch 2 Has Sold Over 3.5 Million Units Globally In Its First Four Days
Re: Switch 2 Is Nintendo's Biggest UK Console Launch Of All Time
Not surprised. UK has been Nintendo’s weakest trackable region for years so it wasn’t gonna beat Sony or MS. The Japan results will be interesting though.
Re: Sounds Like Switch 2 Is Already Breaking Sales Records In France
@Varkster
Go figure. Turns out most of the online noise let their biases influence their rationality and jump the gun that just because game is $10 more or because portable PC machine exists that the S2 would be DoA.
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For The Nintendo Switch 2
@TwinFami You got less then two hours (especially on the LCD Steam Deck) if you played anything modern AAA that isn’t set to low settings.
Even something like Spider-Man (1st game) drained the deck battery fast on the LCD Steam deck. Low battery life was actually one of the main complaints of the LCD Steam Deck.
Re: Review: The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - A Sublime Sequel, Now Sublimer
Got better score then BoTW S2 because Note is a + this time lol
Duality of Notes.
Re: Xbox Officially Enters The Handheld Space, But Nintendo Won't Be Worried
It’s literally a portable PC machine with another coat of paint. It’s not remotely a threat to Switch 2 just like how Steam Deck wasn’t a threat to the Switch 1 OLED.
Also people complaining about the S2 price is gonna be up for a surprise when they eventually reveal the price for that thing. Their “cheap” end usually opens at $600 and that was before the price hikes.
Re: Review: The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - The Best Way To Play, But 'Zelda Notes' Sucks
So an optional gimmick feature tanked the score that much? Meanwhile the features that people care about: Better frames, resolution, and reduced load times is present. Yeah still a 10/10 for me chief.
Re: Review: Yakuza 0: Director's Cut (Switch 2) - A Series Highlight That's Never Looked Or Played Better
10/10 when sticking with the classic Japanese cast.
Why downgrade from voice acting performance perfection just because you can’t be bothered to read despite you doing that all the time without thinking about it in daily life anyway?
