Yeah, but I got to imagine the conversation of shutting off the servers for good for everything Wii U/3DS has been discussed now, especially with a Switch 2 but a year away quite possibly.

Might be time to REALLY consider what online unlocks and final matches you're dying to do for last gen.

@TenEighty For the most part, I think we'll see a lot of PS4/XBONE games that missed out on the Switch because they could not run or be downsized well enough arrive on Switch 2.

If they go the upgrade route, might even see some of those Switch ports get a far better Switch 2 version.

That'll be a big draw if say, you had something as sizeable as GTV V, Red Dead 2, or even the latest Call of Duty in portable mode right next to your usual Nintendo properties. Not to mention how beefy the next Zelda or Xenoblade could get with that extra juice under the hood.

Yeah, wouldn't be surprised if this was a last chance restock before the line ends with Sora. After Smash, there's barely much new games that get new amiibo these days aside from the 2 upcoming Zelda and Xenoblade 3 ones.

A port of GX would fund a new game because I'm certain everyone would buy 10 copies each to ensure a new game.

Course they won't, they know they can sell you these games again for £25-40 and you'll buy them. See Prime 1, Pikmin 1+2.

Besides, a Gamecube/Wii app would be too big for Switch. Maybe Switch 2, but I think they'll stick to selling them.

Best we canhope for is Virtual Boy, more SEGA systems or maybe Turbografx.

You imagine if Nintendo came out and said "This is Switch 2, the most powerful game system on the market." and suddenly it was on again.

Seem to always run into this game for cheap.

Found the original for £20 when the GameCube was still modern. A bargain given the prices it goes for today.

When I got round to going back and 100%ing the game on my Wii no less...I found the Wii version in a used electronics store for about £12. Again, goes for a pretty penny nowadays.

That said, will jump at the chance for the Switch physical bundle.

Just to note, both other releases of Pikmin 2 fetch a fair penny on the after market, so def worth considering picking up.

2 console generations later and a rocky development, I'm sure Prime 4 will be a good final big Switch release before the successor.

I think we can still see some Remasters between now and the fabled Switch 2. While the Wii U well as run dry (Too soon for a Xenoblade X port and Starfox Zero is probably not worth porting due to its reputation), there's still plenty of Gamecube and maybe Wii stuff that can fill in the gaps till Prime 4.

Is it really worth the bragging rights when Nintendo will stop at nothing to find whoever leaked it and shake every coin out their pocket?

Retro, there's only so much Nintendo can do but a new release that's not even out yet? Come on man, that's asking for trouble...

@arabiansanchez It'll ultimately come down to the countries its yet to or just recently came out in. I can see it getting a big boost in Japan.

Give it time, Hollywood's going to be shopping the Nintendo IPs for movies soon enough.

Just a matter of Nintendo picking the right partners for each one.

I'd be down for it. The one major drawback to some of the games is no save feature with some like the SNES game being so looooong to do in one sitting, so a save state feature would allow players to beat these games once and for all.

As for the SEGA games, probably a licencing thing or saved for a further announcement down the road. Don't forget these games were not all made by the same developers so it might not be doable. Then again, we did get the Capcom Aladdin via DLC and a rerelease of the Disney Collection, so that's another route they could go.

Come on Mario, let's dethrone Frozen 2 and Lion King remake!

Pulseman is a great addition I've been waiting for, especially how the Wii Virtual Console version in Europe was butchered into a forced 50Hz mode.

Street Fighter I assume Capcom have no intentions of rereleasing the Mega Drive versions on any other collection just like Wily Wars.

A shame they can't discount the DSiWare games which are all I need from them.

I mean if a bugged port can still perform well, maybe Namco will consider a full blown from the ground up remake since there's interest in that entry?

They have no intention of giving us a definitive version of the original and I doubt many of the aging things like the quality of the English voice tracks will be acceptable in future ports down the line.

@Tourtus It does, but then it means renewing licencing agreements for 3rd parties' games and less of a reason to rerelease certain games for future remasters if you can play it on 3DS (Which yeah, there still will be physical copies but with no more digital versions the prices are just going to go up for a lot of titles).

I'm sure they were still making money on 3DS and Wii U but they want your business on Switch more.

@Coalescence No joke, my local CeX had 5 copies of Retro City Rampage for the Wii at one point. Last I checked, they still had 2-3 copies left, £65 each.

@GrailUK The eShop will still be there, just you can't buy anything. Only to redownload stuff you purchased and download any updates to new games you buy physically.

Some games will be pretty buggy without their day one patch I'd imagine, as well as needing the most to up date update for online play.

@Korsica_Is_Best_Girl I doubt it. There's only so much time they have till they need to get to work on the DLC and then whatever the next game is afterwards (Let's Go, Gen 5 remake, Legends 2, Gen 10, etc.)

Should get more interesting as time goes on.

F Zero Climax was a 3rd GBA F Zero we never saw. Notable as it had a track editor.

Kuri Kuri Kururin also got a Japan only sequel, one for GBA and another on Gamecube.

Pokemon TCG 2, X, Mother 3, whether you speak the language or not there's a ton of possibilities of Japan exclusives to try out.

@edgedino Don't forget, we usually get a Pokemon Direct video of some kind on Pokemon Day (Feb 28th) so they could save an announcement for that.
