"Miyamoto-san spilt a coffee over the server containing the Wii and DSi store information by accident. Please wait while we dust off the back up disc."
I believe Japan was meant to be getting Custom Robo 1 and 2 at some point, so be interesting to see if we get some Western Exclusives when the get those, maybe Pokemon Puzzle League.
@Tim_Vreeland I also remember the website crashing and loading slowly when they offered the Gamecube Zelda Collection and Pokemon Box. Doubt they want that again.
Might be worth doing a list for Wii U too. One example is Sonic Boom which has a 1GB patch to fix some of the glitches. Not the best example I know, but better than being stuck with only the non-patched version someday.
@Eel Kinda the disadvantage of the apps. Some publishers would rather sell digital copies than agree to some kind of subscription model. We've seen that with the Megaman, Street Fighter (Like 3 different paid releases of SFII on Switch alone? XD) and Castlevania series already, Natsume is probably the same.
While yes, a year is plenty of time to snatch the things you want, both systems can only 300 downloads at a time. You exceed that, then you have to delete something. Yes you can redownload stuff after the store closures for now, that might not always be the case, so the only real option is to buy USB Memory sticks on-top of a dedicated external Harddrive. You can have a 2TB drive but unless you're downloading retail games, you'll hit the 300 limit quicker.
And then of course DLC on top of games. On top of my head, there's the BOTW Pass and tons of Fire Emblem DLC.
And while it said you can still download game patches, you might wanna get those out the way just in-case. One exactly is the 1GB patch for Sonic Boom which fixed some glitches. Okay a bad game, but you really wanna be stuck with the unpatched game someday, i.e the worst version?
And Pokemon. Pokemon, Pokemon, Pokemon. If you never finished those Gen 6-7 Pokedex's, you might wanna send your Gen 5 and prior Pokemon over before its too late. Unless of course you don't care and use hacking to do that.
Hopefully a year's enough....but who know? We had this last year with the PS3 and Sony reversed that decision so we could see that happen here.
Regardless, it makes me nervous that the Switch's successor won't carry over the Switch eShop and they start over again.
Date for a Pokemon Direct (Anniversary coming up, Legends DLC, maybe Darkrai event for BDSP?) Date for a Kirby Direct (New game, anniversary stuff, spin offs and a Kirby Game&Watch)
We'll be lucky if we get big reveals like BOTW2. They need to save something for E3, whether that happens or not.
That's way too many summoning gimmicks for my likening. Yes, I started having a bit more fun when I created an updated version of my deck from the Duel Monsters era (Magicians) but same criticism always happens, people take 10 mins to summon and summon and summon new monsters through monster effects and suffer no real consequences like reduced LP and still have a full hand after summoning an army or something with 5000+ attack. And this is only their first turn.
I get the summoning gimmicks, I just think they break the game and making it boring. Time was you at least had a fighting chance to win against a strong deck, now you get shot in the chest if you try.

Huh, interesting choice with Earthworm Jim.
Meanwhile Japan got Harvest Moon instead.
Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2 Delayed To Spring 2023
@HammerGalladeBro They restarted development on Prime 4 because it was not meeting their standards, Zelda will be fine.
Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2 Delayed To Spring 2023
Fine by me, we still have Splatoon 3, Bayonetta 3, Xenoblade 3, and new Pokémon games coming this year so one less game is actually welcomed for me.
Re: Rumour: Banjo-Kazooie, Perfect Dark, And Paper Mario Might All Be Getting PC Ports

@Anti-Matter Technically there is a DDR game on N64.....if you don't mind Disney or Japanese imports.

Re: Indie Dev Cancels Roguelike Horror Game For 3DS In Response To Nintendo's eShop Closure
Such is the risk of developing for digital stores of aging hardware.
The only new 3DS and Wii U games we'll ever see again will be homebrew.
Re: F-Zero X Joins Nintendo Switch Online's Expansion Pack Later This Week
Odd they didnt announce this right after adding Majora's Mask like the other N64 games but shows Nintendo just hates the series.
So should be the start of new unannounced games coming right?

Still an improvement over the Wii U, never fixing that darker tone for games.

Re: PSA: Get All The Harvest Moon Games Before The 3DS And Wii U eShops Close
I remember way back they said 64 wouldnt be possible on the Wii VC for some reason and then it showed up on the Wii U VC some years later.
Not sure if it'll be on the Switch app or not whether its possible on the hardware or Natsume doesnt wanna but might be worth considering.
Re: Feature: 23 Best Wii U eShop Games You Should Get Before They're Gone Forever
@techdude Because a lot of panic buyers ARE paying full price.
Re: Feature: 29 Best 3DS eShop Games You Should Get Before They're Gone Forever
Maybe you can do a list for games with notable DLC too? Fire Emblem sure, but there are others like Mario Golf as well.

@WillQuan Yes. Its a beefy PS4/XBONE game alright, the only way that's coming to Switch is through streaming.
Re: Sword & Shield Becomes Second Best-Selling Pokémon Game Of All Time
@westman98 Took the Switch nearly 5 years to catch up to it.
Re: Sword & Shield Becomes Second Best-Selling Pokémon Game Of All Time
Mainline title on a system that sold more than any other Nintendo home console and still growing.
Makes you wonder how a mainline game would have performed on the Wii......

So Nintendo Direct in a few weeks to announce a duel release then?
Re: Switch Hackers Add Controller Pak Support To The N64's Online Library
Kinda hope so as there are games that ONLY saved on a Controller Pak. Rayman 2 being one.
It would limit the selection library even more so without it.

@Grumblevolcano Typically its usually Argos as the reason to why a older game has suddenly charted but it seems regularly priced.
