Re: Sonic Origins Spin Dashes To "The Latest Platforms" Next Year

Angelic_Lapras_King

While it's great Remastered 1+2 are getting released on Consoles finally, it felt a bit underwhelming seeing Sonic 3+K in its 4:3 state and doesn't fill me with confidence that this is going to be a packed package.

Surly by now you can port Knuckles Chaotix and find a way to do SEGASonic the Hedgehog. Come on, it's been nearly 25-30 years for those 2 titles, some kind of solution exists.

The fact it's coming next year is a silver lining that maybe more reveals will come like Remastered 3+K, maybe more "bonus games" will be announced coming to the collection, but argh, just wish we would if gotten something to really get me to look forward to it's release.

My ideal collection would be just every game from the 90s, call it the "Definitive Collection" if you will as a follow up to Mega and Gems Collection. Sonic 1 to Adventure and everything in-between, including various versions of the MD games like original, Jam and Remastered, it can be done and fit a Switch cart)game disc just fine.

Re: Looks Like The Zelda & Loftwing Skyward Sword amiibo Will Cost More Than Other Figures

Suppose it depends on the size. For all we know, it could be somewhere in-between a regular amiibo and that large Detective Pikachu one.

But I think Nintendo's really winding down on amiibo. They know Zelda amiibo really sell well, and the Smash series remains committed to finishing off the series, bar some Player 2 ALTs people want. Reckon the moment the Smash series finishes up and BOTW 2 is done, it might be when they finally shut down amiibos for good.

@Chamver music is always a complicated legal matter. Often the WWE has to replace licensed music they or companies they brought used in the past with generic music.

They will sometimes negotiate with some bands for the most iconic entrances but often they're scared s word-less over other stuff.

And don't forget, the music industry is always the most vocal about pirates and often get behind Internet Censorship bills.

Re: Talking Point: Are You A 'Complete-In-Box' Or 'Loose Cart' Retro Gamer?

Angelic_Lapras_King

Disc and handheld games with plastic cases, absolutely. Too much risk in having just the disc.

Carts I go loose but as I get older, I have been longing for boxes of iconic games or my favs so I will probably dabble in that more someday.

Sealed games, I have no desire for. Sure, you're preserving them but in my opinion, games are meant to be played with. Kinda feel bad for the poor cart/disc inside that'll never fulfill its intended purpose. Yeah call me crazy, but I'll be too busy playing games to care about sealed stuff.

Re: Pyra and Mythra Are Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Newest DLC Fighters

@clvr you can make a contest of who should and shouldn't be in Smash and your selections are probably way different to mine and everyone else's.

Pyra/Rex have been top of my list all this time and I know many more who wished the same. I'm not a fan of Minecraft but many younger folks are and were happy, I've never beaten FFVII but still thought Sephiroth was a great choice. Hell, I thought those choices were interesting polar opposites on who they appeal to.

Why Pyra? List of things I've mentioned, new or not, probably or perhaps something Sakurai will likely explain in the demonstion video. Either way, one fanbase got their wish (Even when it seemed unlikely after that Rex Mii outfit) and 2 more fanbases will get theirs later this year. Will it be one of yours, maybe. But keep in mind there are probably way more games out there you don't play with strong enough fanbases than ones you are a part of or enjoy.

@clvr Except the studio, Monolithsoft has helped Nintendo out on many occasions on other games like BOTW's gigantic map, a game that sold many a Switch on launch.

So of course Monolith are going to be allowed to continue their own games, ports/remaster's and get treated to stuff like Smash representation. Xenoblade isn't going away, it's as much a Nintendo franchise as all you favs, and being owned by Nintendo is also a huge plus as well.

XC2 and XC1 Definitive Edition still sold highly. There is a fanbase for this franchise and believe me, tomorrow will bring an explosion of fan art with pairings with the other fighters.

Re: Video: 7 Legacy Sonic Games That Were Never Rereleased

Angelic_Lapras_King

When you think about it, most 3D Sonic's don't get rereleases.

Heroes (Bar PS3), Shadow, 06, Unleashed, Generations, they've all stuck on their original hardware. Sure there's backwards compatibility, but really that doesn't really count as a rerelease, you're just buying the 360 version of Generations/Unleashed to play on your XBONE/Series X/S.

I'm sure there are plenty of gamers that would pay for a HDed up Colours and other. SEGA could make a good earner from classic rereleases even if they're digital only. It would certainly fill the void for new games these days.....
