Suppose it depends on the size. For all we know, it could be somewhere in-between a regular amiibo and that large Detective Pikachu one.
But I think Nintendo's really winding down on amiibo. They know Zelda amiibo really sell well, and the Smash series remains committed to finishing off the series, bar some Player 2 ALTs people want. Reckon the moment the Smash series finishes up and BOTW 2 is done, it might be when they finally shut down amiibos for good.
Yeah that would mean black and white/green games but you can incorporate features like the Super Gameboy borders, colour options, and so on. It would just be a healthy injection on new subscription content that can be milked for months and months unlike the current state of the NES/SNES apps.
@Chamver music is always a complicated legal matter. Often the WWE has to replace licensed music they or companies they brought used in the past with generic music.
They will sometimes negotiate with some bands for the most iconic entrances but often they're scared s word-less over other stuff.
And don't forget, the music industry is always the most vocal about pirates and often get behind Internet Censorship bills.
Wii U: Well well, looks l still have some use because look at that! I have the game on my eShop for under 20 bucks! Good luck finding that physical for under that!
Disc and handheld games with plastic cases, absolutely. Too much risk in having just the disc.
Carts I go loose but as I get older, I have been longing for boxes of iconic games or my favs so I will probably dabble in that more someday.
Sealed games, I have no desire for. Sure, you're preserving them but in my opinion, games are meant to be played with. Kinda feel bad for the poor cart/disc inside that'll never fulfill its intended purpose. Yeah call me crazy, but I'll be too busy playing games to care about sealed stuff.
I can see Rex being added to Smash 6 as an Echo fighter to Shulk, only instead of Monado arts, he gets Blade Arts to increase a stat (Roc for jumping, Wulfric for power, and so on.) Doesn't have to have the blades show up, just a picture like the Monado symbols.
@TheFullAndy I think you just need to survive very long as that's when abouts I start seeing the World 8 levels, towards the end of a game. And just keep an eye open for wrap pipes that let you pick a level or just keep doing 1-2 for better level selections.
Honestly, I think it's launching with Splatoon 3. It might not be the most mind-blowing graphics, but Splatoon 3 + limited edition Pro model= a heckton of money in Japan at least, and still pretty good everywhere else.
@clvr you can make a contest of who should and shouldn't be in Smash and your selections are probably way different to mine and everyone else's.
Pyra/Rex have been top of my list all this time and I know many more who wished the same. I'm not a fan of Minecraft but many younger folks are and were happy, I've never beaten FFVII but still thought Sephiroth was a great choice. Hell, I thought those choices were interesting polar opposites on who they appeal to.
Why Pyra? List of things I've mentioned, new or not, probably or perhaps something Sakurai will likely explain in the demonstion video. Either way, one fanbase got their wish (Even when it seemed unlikely after that Rex Mii outfit) and 2 more fanbases will get theirs later this year. Will it be one of yours, maybe. But keep in mind there are probably way more games out there you don't play with strong enough fanbases than ones you are a part of or enjoy.
@clvr Except the studio, Monolithsoft has helped Nintendo out on many occasions on other games like BOTW's gigantic map, a game that sold many a Switch on launch.
So of course Monolith are going to be allowed to continue their own games, ports/remaster's and get treated to stuff like Smash representation. Xenoblade isn't going away, it's as much a Nintendo franchise as all you favs, and being owned by Nintendo is also a huge plus as well.
XC2 and XC1 Definitive Edition still sold highly. There is a fanbase for this franchise and believe me, tomorrow will bring an explosion of fan art with pairings with the other fighters.
@shoeses well, we won't get the mainline Pokémon games for free. Spin offs like Pinball and TCG sure, but I reckon they'd make us shell out £9 for Red, Blue and Yellow onwards each again like on 3DS. XD
@GannonBanned The Wii/Wii U had around 20-25 N64 games among them without Rare bar DK64 which they own. There's plenty to stretch out among a year or so before we get to the forgettable stuff new to the service like these offerings.
Probably time we get Gameboy games. I dunno if we'll get N64 next but there's at least wide selection of games among the 3 generations of Gameboy that would mean it would be awhile before we get to the forgotten meh titles.
When you think about it, most 3D Sonic's don't get rereleases.
Heroes (Bar PS3), Shadow, 06, Unleashed, Generations, they've all stuck on their original hardware. Sure there's backwards compatibility, but really that doesn't really count as a rerelease, you're just buying the 360 version of Generations/Unleashed to play on your XBONE/Series X/S.
I'm sure there are plenty of gamers that would pay for a HDed up Colours and other. SEGA could make a good earner from classic rereleases even if they're digital only. It would certainly fill the void for new games these days.....
That's cool. I think if they have the confidence to buy the developer and give them Luigi's Mansion to make sequels too, maybe they can pitch a new Strikers games with confidence.
Since it's only a bunch and not the whole lot, I wonder if it's the licensing agreements expiring? Sometimes companies can renew agreements if they want, like how Ducktales Remastered vanished only to come back soon after.
Though given the 3DS is in its twilight years and this is a service from the previous gen, neither party might bother.....

Re: Video: Game Boy Advance On Nintendo Switch Online? Here's How It Could Look
Frankly, just do the whole Gameboy line.
Yeah that would mean black and white/green games but you can incorporate features like the Super Gameboy borders, colour options, and so on. It would just be a healthy injection on new subscription content that can be milked for months and months unlike the current state of the NES/SNES apps.

Re: UK Charts: New Pokémon Snap Tops UK Charts As Switch Continues To Dominate
Well what do you know? Reviving old beloved spin offs sell better than just doing more sequels to Mystery Dungeon and Rumble!
Re: Deathsmiles Collection Brings More Shoot 'Em Up Action To Switch In 2021
That's neat, the sequel never made it to European shores on 360 so colour me interested.
Re: Nintendo's Official UK Store Has An All-New Look
So it seems the service got an upgrade too, as the order I made yesterday arrived today! And arrived in some nice Mario packaging too!
Re: Nintendo's Official UK Store Has An All-New Look
And that's one SNES Switch controller ordered.
Thanks for the heads up.

40 levels to go and that's all the icons unlocks.
I'ma gonna complete this thing!

Re: UK Charts: Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury Fends Off FIFA To Stay Top For A Second Week

Great stuff! Had no idea Fox and co had made it as far as the final N64 build but it's close enough to the true Dinosaur Planet.
Re: Famicom Detective Club Is Getting A Collector's Edition In Japan
@RetroNarf they often get rereleases on stuff like Virtual Console in Japan so I guess Nintendo wants to try and get us Westerners into the series.
Re: Rumour: Legend Of Zelda: Wind Waker And Twilight Princess Are Coming To Switch This Year
It's Zelda's anniversary all year round, not just this week so we're getting way more than just Skyward, just wait for E3 or a Zelda Direct.

There, now you can add your Smash Wish Picks to this and rejoice.

Re: Switch eShop Game Prices Can No Longer Be Below $1.99, Says Death Squared Dev
@Bizaster No, this is if you DISCOUNT a game. So if you sell a game for £5 and want to discount it in a sale, it can't be discounted lower than £1.99.
If you add a free to play game, its no problem as well, those can't ever be discounted, aside from microtransactions.
Re: Switch eShop Game Prices Can No Longer Be Below $1.99, Says Death Squared Dev
R.I.P 8p crappy game discounts.
