Have the full collection goal in mind but not obsessing over it.
I had the full Smash line up when the last ones for the Wii U/3DS games came out but got a bit burnt out when Smash Ultimate came out, hence missing a fair few. I'm patient and will wait for the ones I missed to get restocked but man, Joker's gonna be awhile isnt he? Still, the missing ones are just about still in the single digit.
As for the non-Smash, have a fair few but there are gaps and in the end will have to be ebay listings down the line as I see no scenario where Nintendo would rerelease the Wolly Yoshis or Samus Returns amiibo unless those games see a Switch port. And Boxboy will be the last one for sure.... XD
@RupeeClock No idea. Sometimes that store can be odd, other times it can be good like apparently my amiibo's arriving tomorrow. Not the first time I've had 24 hours delivery either.
Bring em all over. If Square Enix can have most of the Final Fantasys and spin offs on modern systems, bar XBox, then lets have all the Tales games too.
Oh I think we will see a new model, just something more in line with the Lite.
2019 saw the Lite, 2021 saw the OLED. They'll do some kind of gimmicky model to keep the Switch relevant till the successor arrives. Nothing new under hood, just...something.
I dunno what, Switch Mini? A non-portable home system?
I think they really need to start adding SEGA/Mega CD games to the Mega Drive app to really make it more interesting and not repeatable. The Mini 2 had 12 so they could easily milk those with some MD games.
@KingMike Regardless, I think what we got was what Nintendo allowed them to release. They probably made a few bucks from it, but probably not a huge amount for them to allow Hamster to do anymore additional titles, whatever was left.
It will be concerning if Game Freak don't put out a generic "We apologize for the issues with the game. We will work hard to patching these issues as soon as we can and ensure future titles will be better." in the next few days. If they don't well, they just know they can keep getting away with it.
It would be a death wish if the Switch Successor does not have backwards compatibly with the Switch. I think consumers are starting to get tried of rererebuying ports of games and that reflects in Sony and Microsoft offering full-ish BC on their current gen systems.
The NSO library will be easy to port over day one, its the downloads and carts that would be the real concern. Imagine being told you had to rebuy all those Resident Evil ports or MegaMan Collections all over again over a long milking session.
Not to mention free upgrades that XBox and Playstation do from last to current gen, it'll be interesting if Nintendo allows that if the successor has full-ish Switch BC.
I know it won't sell subs, but maybe SEGA can consider adding SEGA CD games?
We've seen they're possible on the mini and I can't imagine the file sizes are TOO big, so why not make the Mega Drive library a little more interesting?
@SnowyOwl I think the ship has sailed for submitting new eShop or physical titles for Wii U. Even patches has to be approved so unless they submitted it before the deadline, I doubt its happening.
@Joeynator3000 Which is why they released it with its better sequel, to distract gamers with N64 Controllers from playing the first and filing new lawsuits.
@anoyonmus They've been on a run with their collections in recent years. The Castlevania/Contra/Arcade trio, Castlevania GBA, hell we got that TMNT Collection they could have easily not bothered with what with the license and all, but they did it. And now a Suikoden HD Remaster.
I think a lot is possible with their backcatalogue.

Re: Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Collection Launches On Switch Spring 2023
We moaned when these were not coming to console at first and now that they are, they're milking us dry because they know the demand.
And as soon as they milk us dry, boom. They'll be on Gamepass.

Or you know, a new model with minor upgrades at a higher price, then you can discontinue the OG model.
We are coming up to 2 years since the OLED and 4 since the Lite models.
