Re: Feature: "It Was Hell" - Spike Chunsoft Devs Discuss 'No Sleep For Kaname Date - From AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES'

AJWolfTill

@Solomon_Rambling

Whilst there doesn't seem to be a lot of love for Nirvana Initiative here, I actually preferred it considerably more than the first.
I had issues with the tonal clashing, pervyness and out of place actions sequences but felt they were more restrained and consistent in the sequel without sacrificing the zaniness.
The game was still horny but didn't feel problematic.

Re: Nintendo Confirms The Release Date For Drag X Drive On Switch 2

AJWolfTill

@sanderev
I thought they had basically confirmed December for Age of Imprisonment?

Also worth factoring in we seem to be getting Switch 2 editions every month as well?
Zelda in June,
Mario Party DLC in July,
Kirby in August.
I'm hoping there is something else in August than Drag X Drive although if either Hades 2 or Silksong arrive around then it won't matter to me.
Guess we'll have to wait for the next Direct to fill in the blanks!

Re: Donkey Kong Bananza Direct Revealed For Wednesday, 18th June 2025

AJWolfTill

Reiterating multiple commenters hopes that this
A) is less redundant than the MK direct was
B) Doesn't push the next direct too far down the line (I don't think it excludes one FYI).

Also we better be getting some Wise or Kirkhope on this soundtrack! Returns had a couple of bangers on the OST but it definitely fell flat compared to the rare games IMO.

@RareFan
I feel like we actually saw Expresso in the original trailer but agree that it would be nice to see more of our buddies back.
Also let's cross our fingers for Dixie and Diddy before we start trying to resurrect the 1 off characters.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Mario Kart World

AJWolfTill

Don't share the gripe of the interconnecting tracks. For me it will give the game more longevity as it's less repetitive.
I preferred the continuous tracks like Mount Wario and Big Blue in 8 anyway, this feels like a natural evolution.

The game excels as a local and online multiplayer experience. What it failed to really do was expand into a satisfying Single player experience as well.
Good thing there are plenty of other games on Switch 2 to pick up that slack.

Re: Review: Hitman World Of Assassination - Signature Edition (Switch 2) - Not Yet The Showstopping Port 47 Deserves

AJWolfTill

The online offline save issue sounds pretty absurd for a handheld console. Hopefully they can fix that.
I've had a great time with the 2-3 hours I have put in so far and been amazed with how gorgeous this game looks in handheld.
I have not noticed any frame rate drops but I didn't really notice it much in Echoes of Wisdom either.
I hope you revisit the score if they do patch it because your 7 seems really harsh given the glowing prose you wrote.

Re: Nintendo Music Update Adds Over 340 Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Tracks

AJWolfTill

@Yoshi3
While I think the Xenoblade soundtracks are mostly god tier, your argument with X falls apart because those new LA themes and some of the battle themes became incredibly irritating (at least for me).
Besides I suspect when converted into a playlist, only about an hour will be ambient and the other 10 will be traditional pieces.
Go listen to the Colgera fight songs and tell me that doesn't scratch a primal Zelda loving itch!

Re: Rumour: A Nintendo Direct May Drop Around The Switch 2's Launch

AJWolfTill

We have no 1st party dates beyond DK, so I hope this is the case. There are 5 months of the year with no 1st party release dates so we at least need to know when Metroid, KirbyAR and Pokémon fit in that. Presumably Age of Imprisonment is December?
I'm hoping Drag X Drive is not going to be the only 1st party game in whatever month that launches and that leaves us space for one more meatier unannounced game.

There are also release dates for Silksong and Hades 2 that I'm particularly hyped for.

Re: Japanese Charts: The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy Storms To The Top

AJWolfTill

Hopefully Hundred Line has been doing well on the digital store front and overseas. It's obviously a fairly niche game so I don't really know what kind of numbers it would need to hit to be a success.

Hopefully it will grow in reputation as more and more people pick it up.

I think I'm slightly obsessed with the game right now. I'm seeing the attack radius shapes when I close my eyes XD

Re: Random: Clair Obscur Director Celebrates Amazing Switch RPG Which Launched On Same Day

AJWolfTill

Camaraderie between these teams is so great to see!
The game is great, please do give it a go folks!

@Kraven
See where you are coming from about the characters. A lot of them feel like very irritating people. I nly really liked a couple of them off the bat. I do think the game does a good job of making you feel some agency over their growth though. I don't know if you will have reached any Persuasion missions yet?

Re: Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack Now Boasts 300 Playable Titles

AJWolfTill

Yeah, we've come a long way with this service. Its been great having a library of multiplayer N64 games to crack out and it's nice finally being able to play games from the GBA which I missed completely growing up.
Can't wait to play GameCube games on NS2!

@Smithicus Largely agree. I do think Dk94 is still worth a go (push through the super early stages) and puzzle games seem to hold up fine for me.
