Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Dragon Power (NES)

Europe for me. It has the Japanese cover art (looks great), but also shows what the actual sprites look like in the game which is very anime-like. Back in the day, we'd just guess what the actual game would look like from the cover art, so including the sprite close-ups shows they wanted to show how great the actual game looked too.

Re: Surprise! PS1 Cult Classic 'Fear Effect' Just Shadow-Dropped On Switch

Always wanted to try this game when it was originally released for the PS1. Since all we had back in South Africa were pirated copies of games for our modded consoles back then. This particular game — and others — was never offered by pirates because it was a 4-disc game because of the cinematics, etc. No pirate was going to burn 4 discs just for one game. I recently played through it for the first time and it was pretty damn fun except for the story that did go off the rails.

Combat is fun, the cinematics hold up (to my old a$$ at least), and it's always so rewarding to hit a point where you need to take out the current CD and put in the next one to keep playing. Will the game crash when the PS1 tries to read the next disc or will it just start playing seamlessly? Seamless! It's the PS1 what an amazing console and what a glorious time to have lived. Damn! My memory card is full.

Re: Best Donkey Kong Games Of All Time

It's great that Donkey Kong 94 is at #3, but it needs to be at #1. It is an excellent video game with so much going on and was for a platform that's black and white, takes 4 AA batteries and the game's file size is 879.4 KB. It's Nintendo creativity at it's best.

Re: Review: Super Mario Party Jamboree - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV - A Fantastic Addition To An All-Time Party Game

I don't closely follow Mario Party games and I thought from the top photo that this one had live actors and others dressed up as Nintendo characters in suits like Bowser there. Kinda like a Power Rangers thing. I think Nintendo would have a huge success on their hands if they had to do something like that with a Mario Party. Or perhaps they've already done so since my knowledge of Mario Party games can fit inside a contact lens for an ant.

Re: Feature: Farewell, Nintendo Switch - It's Finally Time To Bid Our Old Friend 'Adieu'

Please just hold on to your system and games so that in 20 years, we're all not having to fork out $250 for 1-2 Switch on eBay, lol.

I'll be keeping my Switch. I don't think the Switch 2 will be as great as the Switch - even with more impressive power. The Switch came at a time when Nintendo needed a saviour after the Wii U and Nintendo not only breathed life into a lot of its IPs while honouring its history in this age of retro game fever, but also showcased indie games and showed the gameplay is more important than hardware. But what hardware! I'll never forget seeing the Switch ad for the first time and seeing how I can take the same game away from my house and hand someone else a joy con to play with me. And then you actually do it at a cafe or airport. Switch 1 will be remembered as the better platform, no doubt.
