C'mon Konami, make Contra Maker already! Just like Super Mario Maker, but with Lance and Bill! Drop in some characters from your other franchises every now and again.

I didn't care too much for Odyssey. Something completely different would be great. Having said that, a new Super Mario 3D World would be awesome or a 2D game to take it back to its roots.

I grew up in the 8 and 16 bit era, but never had the opportunity to play some of the RPGs from the time. I started working on that about 4 years ago and after playing a few of them, the original Phantasy Star has been my favourite so far. Thanks for a wonderful game, Kodama-san.

Such a shame. I played this in the arcades a few times and it is such a great game causing a real buzz around the cabinet reminiscent of 90's arcade atmosphere. And, my ex-work buddy was actually on a semi-pro team for KQB! Admittedly, I own the physical game for Switch, but have never played it. Oh, well. Honestly, it is probably a better experience in the arcade, but still a shame it can no longer be played online, at least for now.

I was actually thinking of picking this up, but just a code. No thanks.

I played the first one on the Wii U and I had a pretty fun time. That was enough shoveling action for me, although I'm happy to see another game in the series (Is it a series? Or just DLC that has come out so far?) for the fans. I'll save my money for something else.

This is kinda like Firestriker for the SNES, innit?

Never heard of The Maze of Galious. It looks fantastic. The MSX is one platform I do not own and I would love explore its library.

These are great! I have a stack of old GamePro magazines and checking out the creativity in the ads is one of the best things about flipping through them. Definitely a part of retro gaming that I miss.

Some great games here that I could easily play over and over again.

I went to the first tour, on the last day by pure luck when visiting my brother-in-law in Baltimore. It was pretty fun and still got all the swag they gave out there. Pity I don't live near any of the new locations.

I'm genuinely excited for this release. I used to play the original with a friend on his Famicom.

My drift issues were resolved once I sent in my joy cons to Nintendo and then updated. Haven't had an issue since doing that. And, good to see that physical is holding strong.

After playing through six different Kirby games recently before the new game released, it will be ... Phantasy Star 2! I'll eventually pick up Forgotten Land when I see it for super cheap.

I wish Sega would make a simple, no-frills tablet system similar to the Switch lite with style influences from their past systems and call it a Game Gear 2 or something. Digital-only with a Sega e-shop type thing and/or bundled classics delivered on a schedule like the Playdate.

@SteamEngenius Yes, quite a few of us still do! I won't be picking this game up, but I just played through some of the Kirby games on the original Game Boy and sometimes use the Super Game Boy when I want the big screen treatment (kinda like the Switch!). I recently beat (the original) Link's Awakening like that.

Very interesting. I recently interviewed for a company that does subtitling, dubbing and audio description. If I get the position, I won't be doing any AD work (I think), but wouldn't mind getting some exposure to it.

Too late for the weekend, but just here to say I played some Kirby and the Crystal Shards and started Phantasy Star 2 this past weekend.

Physical as much as possible for me.

I think Mr AM2R just overthought the EMMI encounters. Yeah, they're not real survival horror moments, but they still were pretty engaging IMO. I do think, as one poster already noted above, that the game did have too many (recycled) bosses. Overall tho a great game, but not as good for me as Samus Returns — or the best in the series for me, The Return of Samus on the original Game Boy.

Probably will sit this out. I had one of them on the 3DS and I felt it wasn't that good.

Kirby Dream Land 3 on the SNES and Ace Combat 5 on the PS2.

The Switch may be lacking in the performance department, but how portable is this new handheld and the Steam Deck? They both look huge — and pretty ugly.

@JustMonika I've never played The Last of Us. I was sort of out of gaming when that was released. Hopefully, the Switch gets a version.
