Gotta say: Looks half decent. I can't blame people for making a Star Fox clone because Nintendo won't crank one out. Instead of remastering a billion other games or yet another Mario game, couldn't they bring a good Star Fox game out for the Switch?

This just sounds like a dumb idea if true. Should have kept the same size or try a new idea altogether like perhaps going horizontal like N-gage cases. I guess they had to make the games stand out some how since the console basically looks the same as the original.

Well, thank god they went with the reveal trailer they did use. I think it was a no-brainer to showcase the Switch this way since it was such a different console than anything else before it, except perhaps Sega's Nomad and Nintendo's own Micro VS Systems. Great reveal vid, it made me want a Switch from the start after not owning a console since the PS1.

@LadyCharlie Nostalgia is just one reason an older game is fun to play. If your reasoning is correct, every older game would be either great or trash, and there are plenty that are both and even more that fall somewhere in between those extremes. And old games were only limited by the technology of the time, not by the imagination of the developers. What would developers of the past created with the tech of today? Thankfully they did not throw their hands up with frustration because their vision couldn't be manifested on their tech. They persevered and kicked off almost all of the game franchises we still play to this day. We'll still be talking about Clock Tower decades from now and probably never mention Fall Guys or Spelunky (or some other modern game) no matter how blazingly fast they were running or how well they were paced. Try some older, slower games, and even some that were badly reviewed at the time of release, it's great to see what worked and what didn't and to see the thinking and trade offs developers had to make. There was a lot more experimentation back then when there were no rules --- nowadays games fall into just a few categories for fear of being a commercial failure.

Years too late for this comment, but I wish that this game or a version of it had debuted on the Saturn.

Alien Crush? For the TG16? Awesome game for sure, but how about recommending Dragon's Revenge, Virtual Pinball or Crue Ball which are other Sega Genesis/ MD pinball games.

Not sure why you guys are hating on the visuals. It seems almost all modern day 2D games come with this god awful flash web browser looking graphics.

It looks great, but I wish they did just a little something extra besides the Triforce logo. And including a display stand would have been awesome too. I still hope to get one when I have some more money. Probably in 2036.

It's unplayable. Don't buy this game. I'm boycotting all places that are selling this game. I haven't been able to sleep at night because of frame rates. Video game frame rates are the most important issue facing the world right now.

Look awesome. Definitely on the radar now.

If I have to hear about frame rate one more time... There's so many others things to worry about.

@NinChocolate I wasn't a fan of the twin-stick idea, but now that you frame it as Time Pilot, I'm way more interested.

@dartmonkey Doesn't look too bad honestly. I'm an older gamer so I'm used to major slowdown while playing games from the 80s and 90s. I'm sure they'll make a few patches for the Switch version eventually.

If anyone wants a CRT, just find out the days your bulk trash pickup happens in your area or an area close to you. Preferably an older, more established neighborhood that's been around from at least the early 2000s. Just drive around the day before the bulk trash service comes, and before you know it, you'll find one just sitting on the curb. Edit: You most likely will not get the remote with it, but just enter the tv model number into ebay to find the corresponding remote.

Still looks great. I just wish they had called the smoothies something like a potion or an elixir. Smoothie just breaks the immersion for me.
