It's this or nothing. And since it's good enough for most, customers aren't gonna complain too much even if they think things could be better.

I'm not from or living in an English speaking country so thankfully this doesn't affect me. But what the heck is up with the edited translation in the English language versions? And no, this was not a change introduced with the Wii ports or anything, this is new.

Hmm I guess this review unfortunately confirms some concerns I had in regards to the game and the direction it was gonna go into... well I guess it'll be nice for all the people who haven't played Pikmin before!

I'll wait for a sale or something then. Don't think I'll be getting it at launch now.

??? It's a big part of it yes. Have you not played the other games? One of the best things about this whole series are the flavour texts and bits of lore.

Uhh I'm not sure this legislation would have much of any effect on the Switch? Depending on how this works in particular the Switch would have to not really change much at all to pass.

I do wonder sometimes if the newer Atelier games wouldn't benefit from big time based mechanics.

Looking at the graph in the source, I am surprised to see that it seems like Monolithsoft's most profitable game was... Animal Crossing?! I mean I know they worked on it but I didn't think they made that much money because of it. It far surpassed any other original game they ever made.

Really puts into perspective how HUGE New Horizons was.

Never understood this kind of push people always demand from companies. Sure, make it so that female employees have the same opportunities as male ones, but enforcing quotas and arbitrarily raising wages despite the fact that an equivalent male employee would make the same seems contraproductive and if anything could even sow discord between male and female employees. If Nintendo has measures in place to guarantee the equal treatment of female employees then that's good enough, in my opinion of course.

And even if it was on PC, TM has completely distanced themselves from the eroge versions and would not have something like that in a current release even if they could.

Definitely buying this day 1. Unfortunately I guess they once again won't put out a physical overseas version outside of North America, but I can endure it being digital only over here. The thought of finally being able to actually officially buy Tsukihime over here just makes me that happy, even if the translation itself has a few typos here and there.

And if anyone reading has any interest, I should note that it is indeed extremely explicit so if you're sensitive to that kinda stuff this is not for you.

I did actually play an English patched version of Trails in the Sky on the Vita years ago, but none of the other Trails games.

Just picked it up on the way home, really looking forward to this. Although I forgot if I should read the complementary novel now or later.

I'm not sure if not being able to choose a gender for your character is absolute insanity or a smart solution to not step on anyone's toes...

At any rate, while I do understand why some posters feel like it was very handholdy, you gotta remember that this is the beginning of the game and it will probably not be a problem further on in the game. The game does seem much easier in some aspects, but there also are some tough enemies so I don't think the game will be totally toothless and lacking in challenge.

I still maintain my opinion that adding a custom protag in Pikmin is a net negative.

I'm surprised to see that so many people seem to be offended by that.

I really hope Pikmin 4 won't be too casualized. It would be a bummer to finally get a new game after so long and then have it be easier than a Kirby game. Obviously Pikmin was never "hardcore" per se, but a certain level of challenge was always there.

Nah I commend this person. I've tried writing emails, letters and calling because of complaints I've had, and it seems they've all fallen on deaf ears. What's the big issue with asking at a shareholder meeting? And honestly, isn't it stupid that everything has to be non gender specific with custom characters? Non-binary people make up a tiny percentage of the population in every country. Adding options for those people is nice, but removing expression and options for people who aren't non-binary is just silly and I agree with the fan that it's stupid that all squids have the same androgynous/feminine animations and poses as opposed to the previous games. ADD options, don't remove them.

It would absolutely be very cool to see, but yeah, also a huge undertaking. And looking at how much work FFVIIR is taking I'm not sure it would work out. Granted the VII remake isn't exactly a traditional "remake" and I'd expect a VI remake to be more faithful.

Very cool but I'd rather pay 6€ just for this than pay for that subscription.

It certainly is possible, SF4 worked on 3DS. But does Capom see that idea as financially viable? Probably not, too much work.

For those confused. Street Fighter V sold about 40 to 50k physical copies in this same time period in Japan back when that launched. So yeah, it's just not a big series over there anymore and hasn't been for a while.

I'm kinda happy about those Etrian Odyssey sales, still salty about the price though. But yeah, good for that series.

No June direct confirmed then.

Also I really could do with more strong character designs and less CaC in modern gaming. But I guess it's good for those for were clamoring for it... in Pikmin?

For some reason or another people get more and more desperate for waifus as time goes on. I don't really get it either. This is a little bit like if Agitha in Twilight Princess made a huge buzz and became the most popular girl from the game. I like her, and she is cute, but to be this popular? Very surprising.

The fact that this is just a straight HD port to the Switch is very disappointing. Could have been so good.

If that's the stipulation then it's definitely not happening. But I'm sure if a sequel is in the works it would be in planning by now either way, regardless of how well it sells on Steam or Playstation.

Forever Entertainment has released patches that heavily improved their games after launching them in a lackluster state before. I welcome a delay like this if it's gonna eliminate the necessity of putting out big patches post launch.

Let's wait and see if things will change similarly in regards to sex appeal in games. Some people unfortunately still argue as if the agency and self determination of a bunch of pixels and polygons have any real world value and consequences.

I did not experience this era, but was there not also a somewhat similar SEGA equivalent? Maybe not on the Mega Drive but some time in the 90s I think.

And as for preservation, I think we should always distinguish between preservation for the public and preservation in general. Pretty sure even without the existence of the piracy and emulator scenes most if not all Nintendo games would be perfectly preserved. Just not easily accessible to the public at large.

What's crazy is that TotK sold more during it's launch in Japan than most other titles in the series did throughout their whole lifespan.

You misunderstand me, I can definitely imagine a nice adaptation of some of the Zelda manga that I love. What I can't imagine is a committee of producers, filmmakers and financiers, that in the worst case is infected by slimy Hollywood types, making a great Zelda movie.

I can't imagine it being done well unfortunately so I'd rather not.

I really thought Nintendo would do something special to prevent something like this for this release. But it seems like they've given up on preventing this stuff happening to even the biggest Switch releases. Maybe in the next console generation?

I didn't think Cloud gaming was gonna be what would undo Xbox's plans. But yeah I guess Microsoft is really entrenched in that field and would have an immediate huge advantage.

Extremely hyped about this game! That "final trailer" totally did it for me and changed my mood about it from not being hyped to being extremely excited.
But I gotta ask, did Nintendo go back to the cringy WiiU style commercials or am I just seeing things?
