Total mid wits that defend people living unhealthy aside, it's great to hear about some experiences of people changing their lives after they were confronted with amusement park safety restrictions of all things. Makes for a great story to tell haha.
I wonder why no one ever does anything beyond complaining about it online? Something like lots of people sending letters or even protesting in front of the various Nintendo offices around the world. (No I am not instigating anything, just curious)
Great news, it's not uncommon for games like these to stay Japan only. Hope the online works well enough, because if so then this is gonna be really fun. However I am confused as to why they censored some of the outfits? It has the same age rating as the previous release, no? @AlanaHagues it would be cool if you could maybe ask Idea Factory International why they've chosen to do this, though I'd understand if you don't wanna openly ask them that and risk business relations.
Already preordered it on the MyNintendo store and I'm looking forward to some good old FE action. However I did write an angrily worded letter to Nintendo of Europe complaining about the script changes censoring some stuff haha, wonder if they'll reply?
@Bret For many people it's more about the principle of opposing censorship in localizations than if the censored content at hand was anything of note in the first place.
Nicely written! Seems like things are as I'd hoped and they shifted away from many things that were prevalent in Three Houses, though I did like that game still. I'm really excited for this and I hope all the newcomers to the series can appreciate the focus on gameplay.
Edit: Well I just heard that Nintendo Treehouse couldn't keep their slimy fingers from censoring the English release of this game. Hopefully the other versions aren't butchered, otherwise this would be a no go in my eyes and I'd get it from Japan.
Wow, pretty disingenuous to note that Mika has designed Vtubers when a previous beloved Fire Emblem artist has done the same but then not say the same about them. I guess this article is made in bad faith or what?
While the Saudi government commits violent acts against certain people groups and persecutes them unjustly. I am way less worried about them having any sort of negative effect on Nintendo than I am worried about the evils of US corporations who are involved in the stock exchange wanting to influence Nintendo negatively. The Sauds just wanna have a backup for when their oil is not that highly sought after anymore.
I am really disappointed by the western marketing for this game, there have been a bunch of trailers at this point that are untranslated. Does someone at NoA have a personal problem with this title or something? Either way it's f****** ridiculous.
If you ask me this is maybe not at all gonna go in the direction of life sim, and just be a pure action rpg. Feel like they would have mentioned if there was any farming etc.
Man I really don't wanna spoil myself with any further info... can someone just tell me if the impression from the hands on is good? I was gonna buy it anyway, just wanted to know.
@AtlanteanMan The previous protagonists aren't playable, and most of the promotion has been showing off the new characters. Not sure if you're being serious.
You know, the physical version can be found really cheap, at that point one might as well overlook the predatory monetization tactics and just enjoy all the extra content that's added for free.
When I bought my first Gal Gun game years ago I didn't think that the backstory of the heroines would be explored in a Metroidvania spinoff, but I'm more than ready for it! I'm sure Inti Creates is gonna do a great job as always.
@NatiaAdamo Previous Fire Emblem artists have also designed Vtubers just like many other well known Japanese artists. It's a stupid ignorant argument to make.
Didn't Nintendo recently show stats that demonstrated how most of their audience is in their 20s and that there are about the same amount of young children playing Switch as there are 45 year olds playing Switch? What is the point of this?
Amazing VN. Must have for any Type-Moon fan. If you're someone who became interested in the Nasuverse through Fate/Grand Order then you'll be blown away by the writing and atmosphere in this game. I should note that it's a kinetic visual novel, which means it's pretty much just reading and listening, no interactions.
Hey as someone who has been enjoying the game I wanna talk a bit about the censorship some were concerned about.
@Tobiaku The panties aren't censored in gameplay, if you wanna be a filthy pervert you can look as much as your heart desires. The black void censorship you're speaking of only appears when you pause or when you enter the photo mode. Otherwise everything is visible normally. The game is also the exact same across all platforms by the way. Now was this implemented because of Playstation's policies? No clue, and we can't really know who decided that, but in the first place it's so small and doesn't actually prevent you from seeing upskirts, if that's what you desire, so not much of a problem in my eyes.
As for the translation I'd say it's mostly fine, but as you've said all mention of high school girls have been removed, however that's not really unique to this game. Senran Kagura for example was very explicit in it's translation to never really state the age of the girls and to refer to the schools as ''academies'' so yes things were altered because of the translators personal ethical standards but nothing that is new in this genre. Otherwise it's OK.
I recommend the game if you like these sorts of simple fun hack and slash games and can stomach ecchi fanservice stuff/ are a fan of it, and I DEFINITELY recommend it if you're a fan of yuri(girl on girl love).
Uh didn't Fire Emblem have day 1 DLCs since Awakening? At any rate I highly doubt that this is content that was cut from the game or would make the game feel incomplete if you don't have it. Although Tiki is quite tempting of course...
That sucks, I absolutely don't want Californians being involved with Atlus
The Future is looking very bleak for Atlus if the Californian office is gonna have any influence.
@VoidofLight That's a strange distinction to make. Xenoblade is a Nintendo game on the same level as Mario Party, that's all that needs to be said I think. I guess you also do not consider Mario Party a direct Nintendo game, but I think most people would say that's ridiculous.
@VoidofLight I totally respect you voicing your opinion, but Xenoblade is a first party title developed by Nintendo. Monolithsoft is not in the same position as HAL or Game Freak, Nintendo owns them.
The fact that some of these idiots who hate on the designs of women in this game don't even acknowledge that Rex's design is also the same kind of ''anime fanservice'' is just the cherry on top
At any rate congrats on your fifth birthday XB2! What a great game and a great journey. Xenoblade 1 on Wii was already amazing, never played X, but I feel like this game is when many players finally realized that Monolith is a top tier developer.
@Ara Not a lover of gacha games and I don't really play any of them nowadays, but there's plenty of mobile games that don't just disappear forever once they're past their prime. For example next year there will be a Touhou mobile game that ended it's service being converted to a Switch and Steam release. I'd blame Nintendo in this situation rather than the medium of mobile games.
Unfortunately I really do believe that it was Nintendo who kneecapped this game's potential, I mean as far as I know all of Cygames' other mobile efforts are doing fine so I wouldn't blame them for this. One can hope that Nintendo won't let the IP rot away and maybe try making a console release based on Dragalia Lost, but I doubt that'll ever happen.
That's nuts, incompetence on the same level as the first generation games. At the very least this is such an egregious obvious flaw that no sane person would defend this.
As opposed to what some others may think, I do not think that Nintendo Pictures will do long form serialized work or feature fiilm length stuff. It's probably gonna be the same as what they did before, and also some involvement in cutscenes in future games.

The hell are you talking about? This game doesn't display the age of characters, aside from someone like Anna I have no idea what you mean.

These Fate spinoff games can be very hit or miss. But if it's at least as good as Fire Emblem Warriors that would be good enough and I'd buy it.
I do have to say, considering the fact that this is a huge franchise, the 3D models look a little disappointingly weird and uncanny.
