Re: Mugen Souls Gets Uncensored 2023 Nintendo Switch Release

steely_pete

@MARl0
I think the switch port wasn't handled by Nintendo but by Atlus? And they were just not gonna bother to use the Japanese version as a basis for the port, reaction to that port being based on the western release was extremely negative and badly impacted the sales so I wouldn't be too surprised if in the future the game comes out in an uncensored state.

Re: Mugen Souls Gets Uncensored 2023 Nintendo Switch Release

Hey that's fantastic news! Regardless of the game's quality even, the fact that after so long an uncensored port can happen should give anyone hope who was annoyed at some game being censored. Maybe in the future something like Tokyo Mirage Sessions could possibly even get an unbutchered release?
Really do appreciate Eastasiasoft's work here.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Pokémon Scarlet And Violet?

steely_pete

From what I've played and seen in someone else's copy, even disregarding the graphical issues there's a myriad of other problems which would not make me give the game more than a 7/10. Then I'd dock a point for all the jankyness and uglyness (not all of which is purely technical) and a general feeling of a lack of care and lack of attention to detail in many aspects of the game and that's a 6/10 for me.

Re: Team Ninja Reportedly Rebooting Ninja Gaiden & Dead Or Alive Series

steely_pete

Man I don't know, I don't really trust the remaining people at Team Ninja (as good as Nioh may be) to be able to actually make a great new Ninja Gaiden. And after the disaster that was DoA 6 (also known as Dead on Arrival 6) I'm convinced that Koei Tecmo still doesn't understand who they want their target audiences to be and how they wanna appeal to them. Which is sad because 5LR was so damn amazing and I absolutely love that game. Overall I don't expect anything good to come from this.

In the first place why reboot, when neither series is in need of one??

Re: Review: Pokémon Scarlet And Violet - An Open-World Poké Playground Full Of Promise (And Tech Issues)

steely_pete

Not only is it technically bad, for the first time ever I'd say that even the character designs are bad, something which Pokemon usually always excelled at. The customization options are also extremely lacking and there's less actual options for clothes than in previous games. All in all this new Pokemon game is an aesthetic disaster if you ask me. Maybe I'll play it some day, but my eyes definitely aren't drawn to this and what I've read in this review doesn't make me wanna try it either.

Re: Nintendo's Mobile Game Downloads Surpass 800 Million

steely_pete

I haven't downloaded any of their mobile games. But also these numbers aren't all that amazing are they? Aside from Pokemon Go I don't think Nintendo ever even came close to having a mobile game smash hit like Uma Musume for example. Which is just fine by me since I like Nintendo console games

Re: Switch Is Most Popular With 22-Year-Olds, Nintendo Says

steely_pete

So since a large part of their demo seems to be adults... how about letting games like Xenoblade and Fire Emblem have higher age ratings? I'm sure the kids are really important for something like Smash Bros which is why they always wanna get a low age rating for that, hence for example being careful with the possibly sexually interpreted depiction of the women in Smash Bros, especially Ultimate. But for other series I'm pretty sure it doesn't really matter all that much whether 12 year olds can play it so how about some more freedom and leeway for the developers? Just some wishful thinking.

Re: Site News: So, Where's Our Harvestella Review?

steely_pete

Well I hope you go into detail about how the relationships are in this game, because what I've read in an interview with the developes was very concerning. A farming fantasy life sim without marriage is personally a no go for me and I'd rather play a fully fledged farming simulator or fantasy game in that case.

Re: Hideki Kamiya Thanks Nintendo For Helping Make Bayonetta 3 A Reality

steely_pete

Maybe there's some higher ups at Nintendo who have taken a liking to Kamiya? At any rate, I'm glad they greenlit the project since Bayo 3 is absolutely amazing and was definitely worth the wait. Always been a fan of these kinds of action games ever since I played Devil May Cry 4 and I look forward to what this partnership between Platinum and Nintendo will deliver us in the future.

Re: Nintendo Introduces Chloe In Fire Emblem Engage

steely_pete

@Porky
huh? Do you really think Lyn's gratuitous leg exposure and lack of visible pants or panties wasn't for fanservice/because the designer thought it was appealing? Not to mention that in recent times they have added spats to her outfit and as far as proportions go they haven't changed, she's always been like that. I mention Lyn because you mistakenly claim that in the past Fire Emblem designs used to be tame and convincing. Also, as far as I remember you're wrong about her popularity too, she was always amongst the most popular characters, don't forget FE7 was many peoples first Fire Emblem. Though I won't deny that she got even more popular after Heroes.

Re: Nintendo Introduces Chloe In Fire Emblem Engage

steely_pete

@Polvasti
The way a male character is designed to be appealing and how it is with the female characters is very different and one can't just equate skin exposure with skin exposure. Maybe you don't notice the fanservice with male characters, but it is absolutely there.

@Porky
Isn't Lyn one of the most popular Fire Emblem characters? And she came before Awakening.

Re: Nintendo Introduces Chloe In Fire Emblem Engage

steely_pete

@LUIGITORNADO
I don't know if you're being disingenuous on purpose or what. If you didn't think my humor is funny that's fine, plenty agree, but the post after that wasn't really related to that, it was in defense of certain kinds of character designs. I guess you could also just be trolling. At any rate there's nothing wrong with saying ''male character'' or ''female character''.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Bayonetta 3

steely_pete

The folks at Polygon always seemed a bit strange and silly to me, so no worries there if they have a problem with a game, don't care and everyone else seems to love it anyway. But if you wanna value their opinion that's fine too of course, you do you.

Re: Bayonetta's New Voice Actor Jennifer Hale Issues Statement About Bayonetta 3

steely_pete

@Otoemetry
Well if you go that route I would simply choose to doubt her based on the fact that she lies about and greatly exaggerates how successful Bayonetta is. She claims it makes 450million without merch but that is simply not true. Not to mention that other VAs have commented that 4000$ is not exactly disrespectful. Would you rather believe people who actively do VA work or someone like Hellena who hasn't done anything in 8 years?

Re: Bayonetta's New Voice Actor Jennifer Hale Issues Statement About Bayonetta 3

steely_pete

@Nanoline52
I don't know why you're even using this line of argument, when Hellena Taylor has not done any VA work in 8 years! Bayonetta paying enough or not has nothing to do with her life situation because she's such an infrequent voice actress. Also your assumption on how much money a company makes from games purely based on sales multiplied by 60 is extremely ignorant.
