I watched re2 as a kid. Could not handle that game in 1998 though. But I got to finally play code veronica a year or two after that came out. I would say that game but it is hard to play and find now. Hopefully a remake for that is coming next year if the rumors are true. Re2 remake and re4 remake are both good games to jump into.

@Ironcore a switch pro means the original switch could also play switch 2 games. It can not. RE9 is not ever running on switch 1. Cyberpunk is not running on switch 1. Star Wars outlaws with ray tracing is not running on switch 1. Switch 2 is a big step up.

Astral chain looks amazing. That art style was the right choice for that game. I wish they could make a sequel but who knows with platinum and all the changes there.

@zockermiller this game key card pushback is still weird. Especially since most gamers download games. This at least helps keep retail alive a little longer. And I got re9 on the generation pack and I am ok with it. I have a ps5 so downloading games to the system is nothing new. Even if most of the game is on those discs a lot need online to play. So this thought of owning games needs to go. Cause games you own can be taken offline for good. I know because I have a disc for anthem on Xbox one and I can never play that physical game again.

@Lone_Beagle by pc games they mean games that pc games. Like the next xbox will be a whole pc or something. Meaning you can probably play steam, epic game store, gog, and whatever pc game store natively on the device. And it also plays Xbox games. I don’t know how that will work. Cause running windows to play games is a hassle. Constantly needs updates drivers and other things that take away from fast pick up and play console gaming. If they don’t have a middle ground with the device it may be a failure out the gate. Well a bigger failure. Cause Xbox is not sitting high and price could definitely stop it from being mainstream which just adds to why they are even bothering to do this. They are pretty much third party right now.

@Spider-Kev on the eshop it says the pack is only available for a month. And the Capcom said multiple times it was only a one month thing. And it looks like it sold out at retail. So the eshop is the only way to get it before it expires. But in a few months the games should be on sale to match the price it is now.

@Ranchman69 Nintendo is publishing it. It won’t be cheaper until some years especially if it sales good this month.

I am playing Resident Evil Requiem on switch 2 and I am not regretting getting it over the ps5 version. Especially since I only have the base model and the pro model sounds like it got the better version.

When they said they found a 60 fps code in the game last year I was a little intrigued but I was still going to play through the game to finally see the real ending. But they talked about switch games getting updates on switch 2 that would make them run better. So I kind of stopped playing it. Hoping for an update especially since other 7 and 8 year old games were getting updates. Now waiting has paid off. I was only 4 hours in so I am started fresh. I am loving playing this game again over 10 years later. The 60 fps and better visuals do look nice even if the is pretty much a remaster with added things.

I would have had an answer but I saw I needed to play the first game after I got silksong. The hype made me get it before knowing anything about the game. And I waited until they released an updated version of the first game. So I just got the switch 2 version and in a month or 3 I will probably still be trying to first the first game. But I will try to make it sooner than that. But it will probably be longer. So it is a see you sometime in the future answer for me. But I will probably forget to come back. So wish me luck I heard. These games are hard. I wish I payed more attention to this before getting silksong now I have to finish to see if the hype was real.

Meanwhile Star Wars outlaws is out. Cyberpunk 2077 is out. Assassins creed shadows is out. RE9 is about to be out soon. I know all these games are not running ue5 but they all work. It is kind of messed up the company with the biggest engine that is used by a lot of developers can’t get it to run properly on the system outside of Fortnite. I still wonder if that report of switch 2 running the matrix demo was even real.

Koei Tecmo published the game in Japan. So Nintendo probably counts that as third party even though they published it everywhere else. Metroid Prime 4 is still a Metroid game. Only one sold really good but that was four years in on the switch. This one is in the first year. Maybe Nintendo will try to evergreen it. If not it is what it is. Until a 2d one comes along.

@Dang_69 they didn’t release this on Xbox because of money. So yes that is the reason.

This is all about them not having the money to release two versions. They released this on the same day as the ps5 censored version in Japan. They just used that version, brought it to switch and thought it would be ok. And the disclaimer lie is weird too since the title was up for a month on eshop before release and no one saw it before they preordered it. They did see the discount they had going on.

Also you guys ran a story about the game art being censored when it came to eshop in December. Why didn’t you ask them before release if the game was censored? Could have saved us from this situation. And forced them to actually say the real reason.

This should be the blueprint of a film adaptation. This needed no main characters to feel like it was resident evil. It used the town and what happened to that town to tell the story. I suppose it is easier here though cause it is short and it tells a precise story. One day a big live action movie may come close to doing this the right way.

That definitely got me hyped. But sadly my hype meter is already at 100 and I preordered the 3 pack on amazon when it came on. Hopefully they have the switch 2 version running good. I do wish though they would show a new trailer for it with Leon. And maybe a few other things. But unless it runs awful I will still keep my order. It is not a dispatch situation where you think your getting the full game and black bars are everywhere in your M rated game.

The page was up for a month on the eshop. They should have changed the before release. Most didn’t see it. I sure didn’t the times I looked at the page. I almost bought it but I am glad I didn’t. Hope they fix this cause it is literally as simple as allowing us to flip a switch that is already in game.

This is probably cause they didn’t want to make two versions. A censored version for Japan and some other regions and the standard uncensored version. They should have been up front about this before launch.

When I got the game on ps5 I didn’t know the game was going to be as violent as it was. Or be sexual as it was. I just wanted to a this kind of behind the scenes of a superhero game. And it was great. Even without all the violence and some nude and sexual scenes it was great. But I want to have it all in. Especially since it has the same rating as the other games at least here in the US.

Hope they patch it in the future. If not sales will definitely go down after this. And maybe even refunds cause they didn’t mention this before hand. Cause reviews went out the day it came out. And it was available for preorder since it was announced. And with eshop some games are not available for preorder until they come out on the on release date. So they knew this was not going to go well but they still did it.

Now I have to worry about censorship again on Nintendo systems and not on Sony systems. They are both so weird right now. But at least cyberpunk lets you have it all on both systems.

This game is rated E. Why anyone is complaining is why they restrict things for an E rated game. Kids will be playing this. And I have been on the internet in the last 20 years. Don’t like this restriction play a game that is rated higher. There has to be safety somewhere.

Last years game was pretty good. It was 60 fps and outside of an online mode and some lighting was exactly the same as the other versions. Had good fun with it last year. But I will probably sit this one out. And they didn’t make a physical card or game key card for this. It was a code in the box. I just got it on eshop. If they at least make a game key card one in next years game I may get that version.

Beyond good or evil 2 has been invested in too much for it to be canceled. Sadly if it does come out it will probably meet the expectations of few. When it teased at first it looked like a straight sequel. Then the trailer that came out showed it was a prequel. Who knows what shape it is in now? But it must be in some from they still think they can release it. 20 plus years of wanting a sequel to an amazing game from my teen years and knowing it will definitely not be what I want in the end or anyone else is sad. I want to look for the good so maybe just maybe this game will blow our socks off. But I rather be pessimistic on this game they give no updates on.

I hope so. That is the first game I played all the way through and beat in the series. I saw re2 as a kid but it was too scary for me to play by myself. I played this whole series out of order. I didn’t play 2 or 3 fully until the remakes.

I hope the rumors of zero are true too. I played that game but stopped halfway through. That game needs fixing though and a remake would help hopefully.

My three most played games were:
1. Hades
2. Hades 2
3. Donkey Kong Bananza.

I forgot to finish the first game a month before the sequel and only beat it my first time this year. And figured I needed to beat it more times. For some reason could not beat it again. But I played the second game and was able to but the game multiple times in both the underworld and heavens. And that game was harder to me. Silksong would have probably been my third but I stopped playing a hour after realizing I didn’t play the first game.

I am glad Nintendo waited a month. It is nice to get the full year and not just 11 months. This needs to be the standard.

I appreciate these updates. My switch 2 crashed and froze playing games the first month. But enough updates fixed that. Hopefully an update sooner or later will fix the last game I own on switch that is not compatible with switch 2 yet.

I hope the announce the 3 remakes are coming this year too. I mainly just want to get re4 remake. I do have it on ps5 but I want to play it again on the go. And re4 on a Nintendo system just seems right especially since I beat this game on GameCube and wii.

@Anti-Matter the way ps5 works it is pretty much the same way. You have to install the game on the console and then download a day one patch to get most games to play. Truly what makes this much different than game key cards?

Capcom would be better making monster hunters rise switch 2 edition or bringing monster hunter world to switch 2 than trying to bring wilds over. That game came out too soon on the other systems. They should have optimized it better before its release. A switch 2 version of that would just be bad. Monster hunters stories 3 though will just have to fill the void until they make another game like rise for switch 2 that can be brought over to the other systems.

I remember in the early 90s maybe trying to play Mario on what was probably NES. It was hard and I couldn’t figure out what to do. I think the controller they gave me was broken too so it was only harder. And most of the games before save states on ps1 and n64 were difficult. But I still enjoyed them. I don’t have kids now. And I suppose seeing them make it to the end would be nice. But a little failing here and there and getting better sounds good to. But to each their own.

@MetalHawk they can’t put every character into the game. And this one is still going on cause Wano went on longer than any other arc. And they are almost finished with egghead in the anime. So maybe 5 will come in the next two years. It probably wouldn’t make half the characters you mentioned playable and it would definitely take so characters out. It would hopefully give the real Wano arc and egghead arc.

It is just the art. The game gets very adult. So this is a nothing issue hopefully.

The demo run pretty good and looked nice. Will probably not get it again. Have it on ps5. If they put 16 on this I would get that one. I did not get that one.

A 2025 year in review in January makes the most sense. Now we can have the actual whole year. Not just every month but December.

@mudmask yes. This is only a thing for a cross gen switch 2 edition games. It won’t work for games that are exclusive to switch 2. And you can look online at switch 2 edition covers. At the bottom it has a big message saying it is a switch game with a built in upgrade pass for switch 2. Meaning it works on both.

@PessitheMystic it is on the cover art on switch 2 editions. All the switch 2 editions that come on a cartridge do this. If this was a switch 2 exclusive game it wouldn’t work. They have info on this on Nintendo’s site.

Even if this was made for switch 1 they sure made sure to make it look good on switch 2. Now this is how a cross gen game should be. Glad they took the time to give us the best after almost 20 years between prime games.

This game came out when I was a teenager. They rereleased it twice but I don’t know the audience that loved it over 20 years ago will come back. I wanted a sequel that moved the story forward. But this game is a prequel that looks to make the original story weirder and seem smaller. I still don’t think this game is coming out. But if it does no matter how I feel I will get it day one on whatever system it is on. Hopefully not on the ps7 and switch 4.

This is one of my favorite series to play. And I don’t really like to rank the games. Especially since they invoked different things in me when I played. Them. Being a preteen playing majoras mask was something. Playing ocarina at 10 and being completely wowed at what a video game could be. A 20 something grown man being brought back to the 90s again being wowed by a game in breath of the wild. And two years ago being wowed again with tears. No thank you with your ranks. The memories are what will stay with me.

This needs to be an automatic thing. With sites like you guys I would forget even though I try to remember to update controllers after updates. And it was not just for the pro controller 2 but the joycons too.

This is one of the few times I will pay the extra $10 dollars and get the deluxe edition. I want that lady d costume. And I will get this on the switch 2. Crazy a new RE is on a Nintendo system day and date with the other versions. And if it is as impressive as that demo they showed for the early stage I will be loving another RE game. The only scary series I can play and finish.

This hits all the checks for me. So I will definitely be playing this on switch 2 in December.

Unreal engine 5 needs to be optimized for switch 2. Cause Capcom looks to set the standard now for what is possible from third party. Of course we still don’t know the resolution and frame rate this will have in handheld mode or docked. But the fact it is running like that with what looks like ray tracing on is crazy. The demo is probably from a build last month. So it probably will be better by February.

I think I am convinced after Tokyo game show demos to get this game on switch 2. Was going to get it on ps5. But if it looks like this and runs like this I am here for this version. Now Capcom needs to bring over re4 remake. I have it but I want to play it on switch 2 again. They will not deny me a second or third run though of this game. Plus the many runs I did on Gamecube and Wii.

It was good on ps5 except for somehow getting controller drift and having to buy a new controller to finish playing it. But now it needs the switch 2 treatment. And if they do bring it I hope they add all the ways to play it. From gyro, to motion, to mouse, and even touch screen on top of standard controls.

Capcom and Ubisoft are showing the rest of the developers they need to step their game up on switch 2. And Epic needs to optimize the unreal engine 5 for all the developers using it.

@Yosher 2 hours? Without having played the dlc yet and on the first play though I am at 50 hours. No complaints until you actually start playing. There is a lot you have not seen yet.

I will do this thing called play the game before I draw conclusions. That sadly is the time we live in. A change happens everyone loses it before even seeing how it plays out. We will judge it in December.

The price of the dlc is the price of the dlc. Complaining about won’t change it. Nintendo does not play to backlash. So if you want it buy it. If not just enjoy the base game. I will buy it. I enjoyed the game and like a reason to go back.

I do not remember this one fully and but it looks like I bought both games on ps3. Tales of symphonia was my first in the series. The second game was a letdown. And those are the only two I fully played. I have got to beat the rest of the games I have including the most recent new game in the series I bought but forgot to go back to. I definitely don’t want to double dip until a price drop. And probably a switch 2 version.
