This just shows that ai has made us all extremely scared and paranoid about everything being fake, and it’s only gonna keep on getting worse. What a time to be alive.
I think Nintendo is worried that if they do this people won’t be able to tell the difference between Switch and Switch 2 joycons, which is fair I guess?
This game is at the top of my “need to play” list but I’m so torn between having it portable on Switch or prettier on PC. A Switch 2 upgrade would make that decision so easy!
I loved the demo for this, but am sorta waiting for a proper Switch 2 update to increase the resolution and fps if possible. (Not that it looks bad, I just wanna experience it at the best possible quality.)
Oooh good news! I was wondering why this game at 30fps didn’t feel as nice as p5, which I played on ps4 at 30fps as well, but it turns out there were framepacing issues? Guess I’ll give the demo another try after the patch.
It’s undeniably a great looking, well made game, with tons of details, stuff to scan. My only criticism (at maybe 6 hours in) is that it’s very linear. Any time I see a “side door”, I expect it to be a save room, and it almost always is. Would be nice if the maps had a few more paths to explore. Maybe they open up eventually?
Wow this is a good deal. In Canada it ends up being $81.50 + tax instead of $99.99. And then the other voucher could be used for Xenoblade X, which would be a great contender for a Switch 2 upgrade, hint, hint, Nintendo.
This is a great surprise! I still wish they'd give the villagers a little more depth though. More dialogue variety, have them do more things, make more interesting requests, interact with each other more, stuff that'll make you excited to see what they're up to.
Definitely X&Y. It was a first party game but didn't fully support stereoscopic 3D, and when it did, the framerate was pretty bad. The game was also really lacking polish in the UI department compared to the top tier UI designs from B/W and the sequels.
I’ve gotten into a habit of not attacking an enemy until it attacks me first. They’re just all so adorable and I feel bad taking the first swing haha.
And while the game is definitely hard, I feel like it leaves a much more lasting impression. Donkey Kong Bonanza was fun, but every boss encounter was a pushover, which made them all very forgettable. With they could have spent a little more time tuning the difficulty for that one.
I beat a super tough boss after many tries last night, and it was so satisfying. By the end it felt like I had mastered a new skill. And then I screwed up and lost like 700 rosaries to some chump enemy 😭
It’s kinda crazy to think anyone that likes video games hasn’t played this one yet.
I’ll admit I was skeptical about the hype it had early on. I went into it doing my best to prove to myself that it was highly over rated and came away from it certain I had played one of the most important games of my life. The soundtrack alone is worth the experience, but then it does such a fantastic job of mixing familiar things with some of the most creative, imaginative stuff I’ve ever seen in a game. Congrats on 10 years of inspiring people Undertale and Toby Fox!
@Desa I thought the exact same thing after watching that direct. I just paid $100 (CAD + tax) for Donkey Kong and there’s already a dlc that’s gonna be like another $40. Probably gonna skip on the next few Nintendo games or get em when they go on sale. (The new Pokémon already has paid dlc announced and it’s not even out yet!)
Then there were the Zelda Switch 2 editions. Thankfully I got them from the Switch Online membership cause they are absolutely not worth $15 plus tax. And the price of that old Kirby game with new content, $130? Nintendo you’re making it hard to stay loyal right now…
This was the highlight for me. Can’t believe we get Hades 2 so soon after Silksong, and the cost for both combined is still less than a Nintendo game. Cannot wait!
Not often something is priced cheaper than you’d expect. Guess I’ll be buying some merch from Fangamer 😁
Also respect to the devs for taking their time, creating the game they wanna make, and pricing it in a way that allows the most people to enjoy it. This is what making games should be about!
I played Elden Ring on the base ps4. It was 30 fps and had lots of bad framerate drops. I loved it and had a great time putting over 100 hours into it. I think the only thing that bugged me was the long load times due to the old hard drive in my ps4. Guess what I’m saying is framerates don’t make or break great game?

Re: Mega Man: Dual Override Robot Master Design Contest - Top 20 Designs Revealed, Voting Now Open
Most of these designs suck! (In that they almost all have vacuums haha.) So nostalgic to see fan designs for Megaman like this, nice work everyone!
Re: NYXI's Hyperion 3 Is, On Paper, The Perfect Joy-Con 2 Alternative
Does anyone actually prefer that style of “d-pad”? I haven’t used one enough to really have an opinion, but it weirds me out haha.
Re: Poll: Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 Has A Final Title, But What Could It Be?
Final Fantasy VII: Replay (the previous two games and then insert disc 3 to continue).
Re: LEGO Pokémon Reveals First Sets, Launches February 2026
So they’re all either super expensive or special gifts that you can’t just buy.
Re: Level-5 Teases More Updates For Inazuma Eleven And Fantasy Life i, Coming Soon
So excited for a new Layton game! Just replayed the Diabolical Box recently.
Also getting pulled back into Fantasy Life i, there’s so much to do in that game!

Re: Poll: Will You Be Getting The New Joy-Con 2 Set?
I’d love to see a set with the original accent colours but white or grey for the shell.
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch 2's GameCube Library With Another Game
Heck yea! People say this is one of the best FE games. I’m excited to give it a try.
Re: Nintendo Reveals First New Joy-Con 2 Colours For Switch 2
You could have the same effect with two tiny circular stickers 😅
Also the controllers no longer matching the colours inside the slots on the console would bother me.
Meanwhile PS5 has some crazy colour options…
Re: One Of 2025's Standout Switch Releases Could Get A Switch 2 Edition Upgrade

Re: "A Knife Can Be Used For Cooking Or As A Weapon" - Level-5 Boss Defends GenAI In Game Development
I’ve always considered Level-5 a top tier developer so this really sucks to hear.
My experience with ai is that if you can’t see the problem with it, you are also the problem.
Re: Persona 3 Reload Switch 2 Performance Update Now Live, Targets 60fps In Docked Mode

Re: Talking Point: Does It Bother You That Big Games Companies Are Using GenAI?
AI is the “easy road” and we’ve all heard what happens when you go down that path. (You get stuck in quicksand.)
Re: Opinion: Who Needs Link? This Top-Down Metroidvania Is The Best Zelda Game Of 2025
The demo for this one was excellent! Definitely gonna get it at some point.
Re: "My Staff Have Had Customers Threatening To Rip Their Heads Off" - Retailers And Collectors Tell Of Pokémon TCG Woes
This is insane. I wonder if there's anything that can even be done at this point, and would Nintendo even do it as it would reduce demand a lot.

Re: Anniversary: Monolith Soft Celebrates Xenoblade Chronicles 2 With A Post, But We're Desperate For A Switch 2 Revamp
All of these games deserve Switch 2 editions, let’s goooo.
Re: Reminder: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Is Available With A Switch Game Voucher
@Wewewi nah that’s half the cost of the vouchers ($133/2 = $66.50) plus $15. Unless I’ve got something else wrong?
Re: Reminder: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Is Available With A Switch Game Voucher

Re: Talking Point: When Did 'Good Enough' Become Good Enough For Pokémon?
Definitely X&Y. It was a first party game but didn't fully support stereoscopic 3D, and when it did, the framerate was pretty bad. The game was also really lacking polish in the UI department compared to the top tier UI designs from B/W and the sequels.
Re: Two Classic Donkey Kong Icons May Soon Join Bananza As Unlockable Figures
@rjejr don’t even get me started on the price difference between switch and switch 2 versions of the same game.
Re: Two Classic Donkey Kong Icons May Soon Join Bananza As Unlockable Figures
@rjejr I agree, this sucks. Time-sensitive is fine, but not if it's for an extra cost on a game that is already very expensive.
Re: Donkey Kong Bananza's First DLC In-Game Event Kicks Off Next Week
Yeah this feels kinda scummy. I wasn't gonna get the DLC as it was, and might just avoid it out of protest for stuff like this.
Re: Anniversary: SNES Action RPG 'Terranigma' Is 30 Years Old Today, And It's Still A 10/10 In Our Book
I played through this for the first time last year. It definitely doesn't hold up to my memories of Soulblazer and Illusion of Gaia, but not bad.
Re: Can You Name These NES Games From The Mangled Box Art?
19/21, I'm embarrassed.
Re: Talking Point: How Do You Play NES Games These Days?
I played some Monster Party a couple months ago on my NES from the 80's which is still hooked up my mom's basement haha.

Re: Classic Mech Anime And Tactical Card Combat Collide In 'Battle Chef Brigade' Dev's New RPG
Battle Chef was pretty cool! This should be fun.
Re: Stardew Valley Creator Announces Version 1.7 Update
For a game that didn’t cost much and gave a lot in the first place, it’s getting an awful lot of free dlc 😁
Gotta love this guy!

Re: Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 Prices Are Live, And It's Sticker Shock Time
For that price you could probably get a used wii and copies of both games 😅
Re: Poll: Three Months In, How Would You Rate Switch 2's Library So Far?
It's pretty good, but I was hoping to have more switch 2 patches for older games by this point. OW2 Switch 2 where are youuuu.
