I wanna play this but kinda waiting for a Switch 2 update.

I wasn't gonna get it, but then I tried one and HAD to have it.

Just delete anything with Hentai or Ecchi in the title Nintendo

I loved the demo for this and will get it eventually. Hope they do a Switch 2 patch though.

I wish there had been more Switch 2 updates for 3rd party games like Xenoblade (to really demonstrate the power difference), and making people pay for the Zelda updates (if they don't have the more expensive online) and welcome app was pretty lame, but otherwise I'm having fun.

Oooh I felt like the graphics had become blurry since the last update but wasn't sure. Glad they fixed it!

Remember when people used to say Nintendo should just go third party? hahaha

Boktai 1 & 2 are actually fantastic games. It's too bad they can't really work on the Switch GBA app cause of the sunlight sensor.

@Asaki Oh yeah mine used to have regular colour options alongside HDR options, but they've recently disabled the regular options, either cause they're stupid and don't know they sold tvs that don't have good HDR support, or cause they want people to think their tv has terrible picture quality so they buy a new one.

Either way this should be the code you want:

Press the Home button five times, then Rewind, Down, Fast Forward, Down, and Rewind.

You'll see an option to disable HDR. (It's the only way to get the normal colour options back.) Once you turn it off everything will look way better. Also get used to doing it again every now and then, cause the last few updates have re-enabled it for me.

@Asaki do you have a roku tv? Lately mine hides the option to disable hdr after an update, making everything look bad. There’s a code to enter on the remote to access a secret menu where I can actually turn if off though.

If your tv was cheap, and “supports hdr”, just turn it off in the switch settings. Basically your tv can sacrifice colour fidelity for range, and you’ll get a washed out image.

Mine has barely left the dock and it’s gonna stay that way until I get a glass screen protector. Also why would they use such a flimsy screen sticker.

I loved the PS4, but I think PS5 suffers from a little bit of "too much". The console design is too much (too fancy, too big), the actual UI of the firmware is too much (there are so many unnecessary options that get in the way of just playing a game and putting the thing to sleep), and the controller is just too much (too heavy, too much led, does too much to make the battery last a long time).

Whyyyy. Like maybe if there was a gate you couldn't get past, or a vicious dog. But what is the point of tossing it like that?

This is definitely a feature. Can't drop the Switch 2 if it's got a firm grip on a chunk of your skin.

The only OLED screens that have really blown me away are the extremely expensive high refresh monitor ones. The lack of blur on those is actually surreal.

Pretty sure if they had gone OLED here we'd have gotten a 60hz one (which is fine with me), but would the blurring actually be improved in that case?

Both my Switch sticks drifted and Nintendo repaired/replaced them both at no cost. Also I haven't heard of any Switch 2 sticks drifting yet, so I'm really not concerned.

When I heard the analog sticks were quiet I thought "the PS5 sticks are really quiet, so probably something like that". Then I tried the new Pro Controller and confirm it's not "something like that". They are shockingly quiet when hitting the edges, and moving it along the edge feels incredibly smooth.

Also I did a quick test of holding left/right while rocking up and down that would have triggered unintentional inputs on the original Pro Controller, and didn't see any of that here.

I didn't manage to get a pre-order so I've taken the day off work (totally normal thing for a guy in his 40s to do) so I can head to my hometown (which is small compared to where I'm living now) to check out the local Walmart when they open and test my luck.

I wonder if the remapping will let us reverse up/down on the analog sticks. The reversed controls in Goldeneye were messing me up bad.

I've only played a timed trial of this, but it was a lot of fun. With gameshare and video chat it could be a great game to play with friends. (The high cost kept me from buying it, and I also have no friends that bought it.)

I hope more studios decide to do updates like this though, to give their games a second life on Switch 2. (Looking at you Monolith Soft, haha.)

I've been playing it on Switch and having a great time so far. I'm excited to move to Switch 2 and see the graphics improvement. (Not that it's bad on Switch, it's probably among the nicest looking/running games on there.)

I tried the demo for Pipistrello and it's really fun! I'll be getting that eventually for sure. (Also just found out Pipistrello means "Bat" in Italian?)

Heck no! I buy digital for convenience mostly, but if I bought physical I'd want something permanent. This is like the worst of both worlds.

Have they shown what it'll look like with the crt filter? I'm curious about that.

@Wisestfool thanks for the insight! I remember as a kid paying $99 CAD for a copy of Chrono Trigger on SNES with no hesitation at all, and that’s like $170 or more now!

As an adult with a grown up job now I’m lucky to be able to afford this new cost, and still somehow think it’s worth it for the tech and the entertainment I’m gonna get out of it. But I hope they can work out a “lite” version soon for those kiddos that can’t get it at this price, and likely don’t care about things like hdr and vbr.

Mario Kart bundle in Canada is $700 plus taxes. I never thought I'd have to spend close to a grand for a Nintendo console, but here we are. I can understand why people are so upset. And then there's the much cheaper version for Japan, makes me think this is Nintendo of America's doing?

@snichelsticks I didn't even notice the rounded edges until you mentioned it, and I'm not sure if I like em haha. Maybe it's something we'll just get used to.

With the current price I can't imagine them doing an OLED version unless the cost of tech comes down big time. HDR and 120hz/vbr are neat thought. I wonder if the next Splatoon will run at 120hz, that would be coooool.

This Direct was insaaaane. I'm so excited but also terrified about all of the amazing stuff to look forward to. (Also paying $700+tax for a console and game in Canada is rough, but I'll do it haha.)

@Bizzyb it’s coming to pc now so it’s possible the footage is from that version, but ya never know.

It actually took me a sec to realize this was Fantasy Life and not a really well made Animal Crossing clone haha. I’m also quite a bit more excited about it after seeing this though.

I hope they show an alternate/lighter colour scheme. Not really a huge fan of what it has going on at the moment.

I don't understand why anyone is assuming "Switch 2 Version" will include additional content. I feel it pretty obviously means "exact same game but with performance/visual improvements". Like when you buy certain Playstation games and get a PS4 version and a PS5 version.

I played the demo on Steam and really loved it. I'm a fan of the Danganronpa games, but always felt they were a little too light on actual gameplay. The tactical battles here were really fun and maybe just what the game needs.

I hope it's a great success for them, but as with most new games I'll likely wait until the prices comes down a little bit to buy.

Oooh looks really fun! Makes me think of Kickle Cubicle, which was also a great sliding block kinda puzzle game with enemies and boss levels.

Imagine if this gets a patch when Switch 2 comes out that makes it look EVEN BETTER?? I'm already having such a hard time resisting this since I don't know if I'm ready for a replay just yet.

Ahhh I don't need this, but it looks so gooooood. XCX was one of those rare games for me where the hours would just disappear while playing.

I don't think I've ever been concerned with gold points since they stopped doing physical rewards. (Which they have since kinda brought back.) Basically just a 5% discount but done in a way that encourages you to buy more, which was fine I guess? Can't say I'll miss it that much.

I'm so excited for this game, but maybe don't have the free time for it right now so I'm kinda glad it's not out for a little while. Also can't wait for the new Layton game! Hope it's as good as the old ones.

@ArcticEcho only one playthrough! It was a tough game for sure. I still put the soundtrack on occasionally cause it's so good.

Phoenotopia was a weird game for sure, but I really liked it. This looks like it'll be fantastic. Noticed they still have what looks like a stamina bar though, I hope they maybe go a little less aggressively with it. (I know Phoenotopia had accessibility options to make it less limiting, but I like to play things the way they're designed.)

I’ll probably play this one on pc, but more than anything I wanna listen to the soundtrack! The music for the first one was some to the best I’ve ever heard.
