Re: Poll: Would You Pay $70 For The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?

@Poodlestargenerica I'm not sure if it's bad math necessarily. When I was a kid a chocolate bar probably cost 90 cents, now they're usually over 2 dollars. The fact that the price of a new video game is usually less than it was back in the 90's is kinda crazy.

Having said that, I still can't usually bring myself to buy "premium" games brand new these days, unless it's something really special, because of the cost. Especially since there are so many great indie games that are often even more enjoyable for so much less.

@GameAndLuke Yeah but by the time those formats are retired they've likely already republished everything on the new format. They're not just gonna give up on potential sales.

Like say someone loves the new Fire Emblem and wants to go play the back catalog, starting with the 3DS. There are like, 5 games there they could either purchase directly from Nintendo in digital format, or go to the used market and pay way more, where Nintendo gets $0, or they can go the /other/ route where no one gets anything.

Why do video game companies have to retire their old content? Imagine if the movie industry was like "we're just gonna stop selling all these old movies, you can watch new movies from now on".

I'm sure there's a way they can keep selling digital games for 3DS and Wii U on the web version of the store. What's the harm? Someone might pick up a used 3DS and wanna load it up with digital content instead of trying to pay a premium for out of print carts.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden?

I thought about it while the article was loading and had the same numbers! Persona 4 is just about perfect, but the dungeons can definitely become repetitive. Persona 5 got that one right. And then not being able to walk around outside of dungeons in P3 Portable brought that one down for me, but still a great game overall. (If only they'd have done a "Golden" version of Persona 3 FES instead.)

Still the only (legitimate) way to play Xenoblade Chronicles X, one of my favourite games! I definitely wasn't first in line to get a Wii U, but once I had one it definitely turned out to be a worthy gaming system. Nintendoland, Super Mario 3D World, Mario Maker, XCX, Zelda: BOTW, and so many other great games!

I kinda wish a 3rd party would produce a new gamepad for it though, that is less clunky and has a nicer quality screen.
