Re: Site News: Nintendo Life Turns 15 Today

Congrats, guys! Cheers from Russia!

I remember reading up on some Wii games when I first bought my Wii in early 2009. And then coming back to the WiiWare review website I liked pretty much, only to find out it had merged with some other websites. Been here ever since, almost every day. Rarely in the forums, but always in the comments section. It has become pretty tough not to get lost in the amount of comments, though. Maybe it's time you made nested comments a thing here on NL!

Like others in the comments, I would love a retrospective article. I wonder what Corby (aka 7/10) is doing, as well as that guy who moved to work at Nintendo (sorry, can't remember his name) and other former writers.

Finished it streaming on PS Now to my MacBook. The experience is totally worth it. An absolute gem of a game. (As all Remedy games are, basically.)

I may be in a minority here and this may be harsh, but. Those people who refuse to buy this game because... in 10 years it won't work? Guys, what's more important for you, is playing and enjoying the game and letting it affect/inspire you on a personal level or... owning a box with a cart on the shelf? I just don't get this materialism.

Re: Atelier Ryza 2 Won't Be Censored In The West, Says Koei Tecmo

I don't understand people bashing on Sony in the comments.

We have so little info to go on that any assumption we make may be false.

Was it Sony who decided to censor it? Why not the developers? Couldn't the developers have self-censored themselves because they thought it would be seen badly in the west? Could Sony have done it for the sake of some YouTube algorithm or rating system? Could someone have wanted to keep some intrigue before the final release?

The only fact we know is that it will come out uncensored. So what are you all whining about? You can have your opinion on whether that's good or bad, but please don't go on babbling about censorship.

Sorry if that was rude, but I'm just so tired of people jumping to conclusions first and thinking (or not thinking) later.

Wait, that game is from Yuji Naka? They didn't mention that in the direct, did they? Seems weird, he is a pretty well-known name in gaming. Not Miaymoto level famous, but still.

I'm kinda interested now, though the trailer didn't grab me, to be honest. I don't get the fascination Japanese developers have with this carnival & masks vibe. Though that's probably because its exotic European stuff to them, the way Japan is exotic for us.

Re: Video: The Problem With The Super Mario 3D All-Stars Release

Pretty sure that's because there's plans to add N64 and eventually newer consoles to the Nintendo Switch Online service.

So a hypothetical kid in Sept 2021 will just buy a Switch and subscribe to NSO.

Really though, even if it's just marketing, I have nothing against it. I don't have time to play all the games to death as is. There's plenty of stuff in life that happens just once. It's sad that you only get one high school graduation or something, but that's just how it is. Super Mario 35 could be one of those experiences, and we'll reminisce about it sitting by the fireplace when we're old, playing Super Mario Cyberpunk or something.

Did anyone say it was going to be a limited number of copies? As far as I see, it's just a limited time offer. Chillax, people, sheesh. I'm sure Nintendo will print a boatload of copies, so everyone who wants one gets one.

Even if something crazy happens, and your store runs out of copies, there's always digital.

(Not to mention, I'm like 90% sure the limited time offer is because Nintendo Switch Online will add N64 next year, with other consoles to follow, so there'll always be that.)

Preoderdered via that NSO voucher thing. Played a bit last night. Seems great. Two things come to mind:

1) I think many people miss the fact that it's still a first-party Nintendo game. The level of polish is just incredible, and it compensates for a lot of shortcomings (if there are any). The HD rumble is utilised to the full, love it. The folded-hands motion controls are like the best of the Wii fun, but without overdose. The writing is really funny. Plus, it is beautiful and runs like a charm.

2) Just be a grown-up and accept the change in the series. We may get a Mario RPG in the future, but that will surely be via the M&L RPG series.

P.S. I'm surprised no one made a joke about the battles being TURN-based yet.

@nhSnork it shows that you didn't have the Wii. The left hand nunchuck controller used to plug into the main WiiMote, so they were not wirelessly separate controllers. The weirder thing was plugging a Classic Controller into the WiiMote...

Oh man, you did it, now I suddenly got nostalgic for the Wii and have to dig it up and play a round.
