Love the theme and the stage. I'll be joining Team Courage for sure. It probably won't happen, but how great would it be if there was a Zelda song added for this Splatfest performed by Deep Cut?
Nintendo, must you continue to tease me with this sporadic dripping of Zelda info? Let me buy the game from you already! I've been ready to play this for nearly 4 years now!
Very weird. I've been thinking for a while that these were going to be delayed with the lack of release date being announced. But that's crazy, right? Who needs a delay to release a collection of retro games?
I think there was also a WiiWare game you could buy using credit from Club Nintendo named Ultrahand that had you using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk as motion controls for handles of the "ultrahand" in the game.
Looks great. Looking forward to this. The fusing mechanic is an interesting way to expand on the weapon system of BOTW, and will be a fun approach to puzzle solving in this game. This was a small glimpse into TOTK's world, and I'm happy with that. Just gimme the game already!
It might be time to update the blurb on Bravely Default II - that game has been out for some time now. I typically only download and play a demo for a game I have on my wish list already, but that's more an issue with lack of free time than lack of desire to try these games out. I recently downloaded and played the demo for OT2, and that was fantastic. I also recall playing the Yoshi demo and taking it off of my wishlist as a result.
This was a great pack-in for Star Fox Zero, and in a lot of ways, it was more fun than Zero. I'll never forget how stressful this game could get, having to keep tabs on all of your cameras to make sure nothing was getting by or breaking your stuff. It was probably my favorite implementation of the Wii U GamePad, and it would be great to have this and Zero remastered for the Switch.
It's so sad what E3 has become. I have such great memories from E3 presentations. I was hoping for at least a Direct around the same time as E3. Maybe next year?
I started with Therion in OT1, and I was so glad because of his locked-chest opening ability. For that reason alone, I'll probably go thief again in OT2.
The Koopa Troopa "armor" looks more like my kid getting ready to ride his bike for the first time when he was 5. Knee pads, elbow pads, and bike helmets? I hadn't noticed that before. It's like they're trying to tell kids subconsciously to practice safe biking.
I try to stay positive in my comments on this site. Hmm...if you set it on fire, it will keep you warm for a few minutes? If you have a question in a classroom, instead of raising your hand, you can raise this plaque (since there's a hand on it)? Someone mentioned using it as a cutting board - at least then it would be somewhat useful? I don't know, I'm struggling with this one. My purchase probably won't be from Gamestop.
@darkswabber I didn't realize hammer damage counted. I just ran around hitting bots with my pickaxe until I had that quest done. The hammer makes it much easier. I'm stuck on the bounty quest at the moment.
@KateGray I'm going to miss your excellent writing and off-beat, quirky humor. I'm sure whatever you'll be working on in the future will be successful. Please check in with us every once in a while.
Absolutely fantastic. And I love the fact that the bigwigs at Nintendo actually okay-ed this. I mean, they had to, right? There's a lot of usage of Nintendo IP here.
5/16. It's amazing how much lore is packed into this game. I got tripped up on the music question. Part of the Death Mountain dungeon music in the first Zelda is arranged into the Death Mountain music in BOTW, so I purposely didn't pick that one. Guess that doesn't count.
Still amazing to me that a Sony developed game is on a Nintendo system. It's also nice to see the Switch version is arriving on the same day as the others. I'll grab this when it goes on sale. Say what you will about not thanking Sony/MLB/whoever, or about how this is the worst version of this game, etc. - we're still waiting for Madden on the Switch.
Muramasa is a fantastic game (that I finally played through during the lockdown), but I don't know that I'd want to play through it all again. But it would be a shame for such a pretty game to not make its way back to modern consoles. More people need to experience this game.
I'd like to see what the verdict is on actually using these sticks to play games on the Switch before I commit to a replacement project. The texture on these doesn't look the same as Nintendo's, and I don't want to commit the money or time to this if the sticks feel like junk after I replace them. Having a permanent solution to this issue seems like a dream though, especially since Nintendo likely won't fix Joycons for free forever.
I can't think of anything specifically, but I will say that every version of Super Mario Kart over the years has been very frustrating in the higher cc's.
With the Pixel Remasters, I'll actually have access to all of the Final Fantasy games that I would want. If I had to ask for an additional one, I guess I'd pick either FFVII Remake or FFIV The After Years.
Tokyo Mirage Sessions (89 hrs), Splatoon 3 (87), Wolfenstein 2 (39). Really cool report, but one complaint - why isn't this accessible in the Nintendo Switch Online app? Sure I can get to it in my browser, but it seems like a logical, simple, relevant addition to the app.
It sounds like they're talking about the next releases being multiplatform, but I'd really like to see a remake or remaster of MW on Switch. And the online has to be cross-platform too, or these ports are dead in the water.
I enjoyed this game. Not as much as FFIV (my first FF) or FFVI (the gold standard), but it was a fun game. I remember playing through this game before the first release of the official translation in Final Fantasy Anthology on PS1, when the only way I could play it was a fan translation on an emulator.
Playing through the chapter finale of Fortnite is really the only thing planned. Might get into a little Splatoon, and maybe some Xenoblade 2 if nothing else is going on.
Starting catching up on this game yesterday after taking a break for Splatoon 3. It's already pretty complex, and I'm sure I'm not playing it as well as I could be, but the locales are gorgeous and the battles are engaging. I'm hoping to finish playing through this and its DLC by the time the next Zelda arrives and consumes my spare time.
Before the Switch, I considered it the best Nintendo console ever. It was HD (a first for Nintendo), it had excellent games, it had excellent virtual console support, it could double as a Wii, gyro aiming that revolutionized shooters, a solid online setup (at no extra cost), the ability to work with external hard drives, and off-TV play for several games (including the downloadable version of Xenoblade 1). Even though I sold mine about a year ago due to limited space and lack of usage (and $$$), I have very fond memories of the system.
I voted for New Super Mario U, but CoD was a close 2nd. It had a fantastic single-player campaign to play through, and the online multiplayer actually worked really well (and it was a free service).
I didn’t find every korok seed, but I finished the main quest, side quests, shrines, and the expansions. So I’m calling that 100%. This is my all time favorite game. I’ve actually played completely through both the Wii U and Switch versions. If Tears of the Kingdom is even half as good as Breath of the Wild, I’ll be a happy player.
I remember the first time I got to a boss in Rygar on the NES. I was 9. The sound effect the forest boss in that game makes is loud and awful compared to the calm music of the forest. Left me shaken for a while.

Re: Feature: What's The Best Way To Play Super Mario Bros. In 2023?
On a hybrid system, either with a proper pad or on the go, with local or online 2-player fun. The Switch is the best option here.

No mention of Squad 51? I guess because it hasn't been reviewed yet.
