I've only preordered two games in the past 10 years or so: Twilight Princess HD, and Breath of the Wild. BotW didn't have any preorder bonuses, but TP had a "sound selections" CD that had several good songs on it, including the Hyrule Overworld theme (one of the greatest videogame songs of all time ). I do preorder DLC though. All of the Smash passes, the recent Mario Kart DLC, the BotW expansion, etc.

Reminds me of the Target Mario Kart 8 promotion where they played the 3/2/1/Go signal when you walked in the store and the shopping carts were decorated to look like Mario Karts.

My son found this to be a favorable change. Then again, he fully admits that he sucks at builds. But he says it gets rid of "sweats." Which I guess is a good thing...?

Odyssey just makes so much sense, and there's several different ways to go about it (new Kingdom, a non-Mario character segment, etc).

If I could pick multiple options, I would love to have Galaxy 2 in my 3D All-Stars set. It feels incomplete without it.

Regularly play Mario Kart Tour, and I'm very much looking forward to Ninja Hideaway and Tokyo Blur in Mario Kart 8.

I'll go to a Gamestop if they're running a decent sale on a game on my wishlist (Dekudeals!), but otherwise I don't really have much of a desire to go to one. I think I've just aged out of it - the idea of browsing games on a shelf doesn't appeal to me that much anymore, and their retail-y stuff (shirts, toys, etc.) doesn't really appeal to me much either.

It'll be a T-Rex that breathes fire. Like Grimlock the Dinobot.

I'm fortunate enough to have been an impressionable kid when the Turtles mania started, and I've owned and loved a handful of the games in this collection. This news made my day, and I can't wait to play these again on the Switch. Turtle Power!

Definitely sounds rushed, but as long as the team is committed to provided a good quality product, even after launch, then it's going to be fine eventually. I can see it being delayed a month or two to get more optimization work done before release.

At least Switch isn't getting a cloud version.

Just finished my play through of Tokyo Mirage Sessions on Switch, so I’ll be going back to New Super Mario U and Octopath Traveler this weekend.

Ah, so you have to play Diamond Dynasty, huh? I just wanted to jump in a game between two MLB teams - that's why it didn't work.

Of the little I played, I thought it looked great for a Switch sports game. I never got to a point where a full team took the field (just practicing hitting and pitching), but it looked great. The two times I tried to get into a game online it failed to connect and kicked me back to the main menu, but that's to be expected.

On one hand, it feels like it came way too soon. But then again, the Wii U and 3DS have been discontinued for years. I guess it makes sense. The Wii U was a good system with a great set of games, and hopefully Nintendo presents a new way to acquire some of the older games that we'll be unable to purchase again once these shops close for good.

@WhiteUmbrella If memory serves, there's three tracks in the first wave (Coconut Mall, Shroom Ridge, and Sky Garden) that are not in MK Tour. So it's not going to be just the mobile tracks.

I don't really have a wishlist for new tracks in MK8, but the article brings up an interesting thought - anti-gravity. Are anti-gravity sections going to be worked in to these tracks, or are they going to be straight ports from their previous games (or from MK Tour)? I don't remember seeing any anti-grav sections in the tracks shown in the Direct. It would be nice if the DLC devs put a little extra work into the new tracks to integrate them into the MK8 universe rather than just straight porting them.

It was a Zelda update short of amazing, but incredibly solid. It wasn't just 40 minutes, it was 40 minutes chock full of updates on new games and existing ones. It was hard to keep up with all of the information Nintendo presented. Xenoblade looks incredible, and I can't believe we're getting a reboot of Wii Sports. And more tracks for Mario Kart 8!? What!? It was an excellent Direct.

With the lockout going on, this may be the only form of MLB happening in April. I'm trying to stay optimistic that this will perform well and play great on Switch, but there's no telling. I'm much less optimistic that Opening Day goes off as scheduled.

It's painful to have to pick one of the games/rumors. There's so much to look forward to, but BOTW2 would trump it all if anything from it is revealed today. Also, as much as I'd love to have TPHD on the Switch, or a new Mario Kart, I would be super-excited if a new 3D Mario is announced.

Hoping to get some nailed-down release dates for lots of stuff on the wish list, and maybe a new entry or two. Thank you, Nintendo!

I'm still playing this everyday. Even when I'd made up my mind that I was going to stop playing, I still came back to it. It's a very satisfying loop of "get new hero, train new hero, all while hoarding items" kind of thing. I'm pretty sure I've played this for at least a few minutes every day since it launched. And I've only spent $10 for it (and that was more of a "giving something back to the devs" than a "I need this orb pack" thing).

These two would be a perfect fit.

The Switch isn't really made to be a digital-only system for the common "blue-sky" buyer, since it only has 32 (or 64) GB of disk space internally (compared to the 100s of GB or multiple TB of space on the other systems). Switch buyers are kind of trained to get the cartridges out of necessity.

...but PS5 doesn't have off-TV play. Or Breath of the Wild. So there.

To me, this speaks more to the overall usage of Twitch for watching streaming versus the popularity of the games. There's a lot more people on Twitch now than there were before. The graph shows the more recent the release was, the more viewership it had. From what I can tell, Arceus is a good game, but there's just more people watching Twitch in general now than there used to be.

One of my favorite all-time games. It was such a gripping game that my grades tanked in Spring 1997. And I don't regret it one bit.

I wouldn't mind playing the Kingdom Hearts games over the cloud on the Switch, but the fact that they're charging $40-$50 for each of them (or $90 for a bundle) is crazy. If they ever go on sale, then maybe. I have a backlog of excellent RPGs I can play now, and they're not cloud versions.

It doesn't seem to be showing up on the eShop web site (NA). Bummer. I guess I'll wait until I get home to download it. This game looks interesting, and it's definitely one of those "try before I buy" kind of games. There's so many good RPGs on the Switch.

I'm going to get these games eventually, and I'm looking forward to firing up the demos on my Switch. That is a bit on the pricey side of things though, and I have plenty of other games to play, so I'll hold out for a discount.

My vote is for Twilight Princess, but I'm partial to that game. In terms of improvement over the original, I'd vote for Wind Waker, but TP was my favorite game to play on this list.

That's pretty cool. I also like that the Vah Medoh shows up on the map afterwards as an unvisited landmark.

Hoping all of the Zelda love in these discounts means more revelations on the new Zelda game and not just a "hey, it's the anniversary, yay" announcement at the show. Also, Splatoon 3?

The value definition is going to be different for different people. For me, it's not a great value...yet. I don't have Animal Crossing, and I still have the Wii U hooked up with the N64 games I want to play, and I have the Sega Collection on Switch (not perfect, but good enough). If more is added to the expansion pack, I'll upgrade. For now though, the base account is just fine, especially at that price.

Watching that reminded me that I need to finish Octopath Traveler. I love how this game looks, but I'm not a huge fan of tactical RPGs, and the name is only slightly better than Octopath Traveler.

I'm not planning to get the expansion pack at launch, but I may upgrade later if more is offered. But if more systems or DLC gets offered, I might change my mind.

Storage capacity? Is he talking about disk space or memory? I assume disk space, but a shortage of memory would make more sense than a shortage in disk space as to why they're not native versions. Either way, I'm waiting to see how much these games are going to cost, but I'll probably end up getting all three.

Wow. I think I'm just going to stick with my base account for now. You're going to have to sweeten this pot a whole lot more before I jump in, Nintendo. N64 VC isn't worth that much to me.
