@EarthboundBenjy I have The New Tetris on N64 and that is really good. One of the only games I could use my N64 controller in the Control-Pad position.
There’s an interesting quote from the band Smashing Pumpkins where they won’t re-record a song. Sure technology and techniques may well have improved but a place in time has been captured and what they worked on is of its time.
Same with games. Maybe save new graphics for new games.
I’m warming up for a few minutes with Debris Infinity. (Dance music and twin stick shooting. It’s very like the excellent D.S. and Wii game Geometry Wars.) Then a bit of BUTCHER for 2D twin stick platforming excitement. (Pretty much a 2D Doom.)
If I have time for an hour or so tomorrow I’ll practice Super Mario World and in Super Mario Odyssey see if I can get to New Donk City as I’ve not seen that yet.
Very excited for this. On the original Game Boy my two main games were Super Mario Land and Tetris so I’m very happy to play the Game Boy Color one. And the N.E.S. one. It’ll be great to see that.
New Super Mario Bros. 2 for me. I think I’ve found all the coins in 1-1 the first level and there are a lot. 😊 Now just trying to beat my best score by trying a few different ways of using powerups.
Yeah the Lite was amazing and I was so happy it still had Advance support but the ‘Phat’ was so much more comfortable to play. I really loved it. It had great shoulder button positioning. It also had amazing clicky buttons and good firm control-pad.
My DS Lite had soft buttons and mushy control pad. I definitely didn’t like it as much to play on.
But my hinge broke on the ‘Phat’ and my Lite is still going so it’s a great design.
I took the opportunity to play Shadow Man Remastered on Switch. I have the 64 game but never got into it. (I’m guessing it was that the controls were not modern controls.)
Cool. I never got Banjo-Kazooie for my 64 but caught up on Switch Online and I really enjoyed playing it. I’ve heard loads of praise for Tooie so I’ll be playing this day one.
I’m playing the Tobla free demo. (The full game should be released sometime this year.)
It’s a nice-feeling and relaxing 3D puzzle game where you swap blocks for different size blocks to access the different areas with a hand like the Tears of the Kingdom Ultrahand.
@Mrkittyhead It’s the experience. Perfectly put. And the reviewer says this as well. The first time I used the rocket pack in the demo I was delighted and its these experiences I look for in games.
I recommended the game Tobla. It’s got an Eshop demo and a 2024 release date and it’s really good.
It reminds me of the excellent Neon White because you are in Heaven. It has some simple 3D platforming and you use your God-powered hand which is similar to Ultrahand from Tears of the Kingdom.
I do read these articles every time just in case they add something. For example I loved it when they added folders.
(I had been sorting games by genre but my latest obsession has been a folder for 10/10 Nintendo Life rated games, a folder for 9/10 games and I just made one for 8/10 games. It’s helping me play the best games in my backlog.)
Awww well done everybody for the Hogwarts Legacy joke. I was going to make the same joke but use the game Celeste but I will happily join in with the Harry Potter game that no-one has heard of and no-one has bought. How did it get missed? Truly a crime. 😏
It’s Nintendo so who knows. I could imagine shoulder scroll wheels controlling some cool things in game as well, like not just menu items but acting as a right stick maybe. That might be good.
But I think they won’t do it.
It’s looking like Switch to Switch 2 will be like moving from DS to 3DS XL.
It’s really creepy. I love it. Will be good for playing at Halloween.
I thought that the mechanic where the tree creature doesn’t move until you look away would feel like in 2D Mario where you get the Boo and Big Boo ghosts and they only move when you look away but this Minecraft one actually looks like it feels pretty different when you play.
Great game. I’m really enjoying it. It reminded me of Shape Of The World which I really like.
I have some thoughts if the developers would like to consider them for Loddlenaut 2.
Should have been called Waternaut, as people could remember this game by remembering the word astronaut. I had trouble remembering the name Loddlenaut.
Should have been press and release ZR to collect items and press and hold ZR to scan area for items.
Should be able to look up or down with the right stick and travel in that direction with the left stick rather than use A and B to float up and sink down. For a chill-out game there are too many buttons.
Battletoads looks AMAZING and with comedy animations. Yes please.
This update looks interesring. I’ll have to try all four games. I like that you can pass diagonally in the dodgeball game. I don’t play puzzle games but I always check them out once. The car game looks like it runs like Out Run on the original Game Boy.

Re: Video: Here Are Felix's Top 5 Nintendo Switch Games Of 2024
I like Felix a lot. I can’t wait to see this list. Actually I like all the guys who do the videos.
Also it’s excellent they can choose the games they are actually playing and are not limited to only choosing games that released this year.

@marcelominucelli I do really like Tetris 64. Back in the day it was one of the only games I had where I could use the Control Pad.

New Super Mario Bros.
Metroid Prime Hunters.
Geometry Wars.
Ridge Racer.
Project Rub.
Re: Vampire Survivors: Ode To Castlevania Switch Update Released, Here's What's Included
Tried it. Loved it. And I love the regular game.
Also, weirdly, it seems the movement in the D.L.C. is a little better than the normal game in a way I can’t easily put into words.
Re: Prime Video May Have Found Its Lara Croft In Game Of Thrones Star Sophie Turner
Yes please. I really like all the Tomb Raider live action versions. I really like the TV series Relic Hunter. I also really like Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
I can’t wait for more and Sophie Turner is an excellent choice.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (9th November)
@Eduard_Brenton I can recommend New Super Lucky’s Tail. I heard that’s on Game Pass and that’s a good game.

@JohnnyMind Yeah. People do like to own their games, don’t they.

I wonder if this delisting is to concentrate on Nintendo Switch Online and Xbox live.
Re: Review: NYXI Warrior Bluetooth Controller - A Great GameCube Pad For Switch, With The One Big Quirk

That’s a good shout making the face buttons hot-swappable like the gates on the sticks. Maybe this functionality will come in the future.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (2nd November)
I’m really enjoying a play-through of Poochy And Yoshi’s Woolly World. What a beautiful game and such good music. 9/10 Nintendo Life rated.

Re: Switch Accessory Firm CRKD Is Launching A Rather Unsavoury 'FOMO' Scheme
This symmetrical stick Wii U style design is very interesting. Other Nitro Decks I’ve seen have been asymmetrical Switch/Xbox style sticks.
The Wii U gamepad is super comfortable. This has got my interest.

Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's GBA Library With Two More Titles
These games look good. I’ll have to fire them up and see if they play like like the F-Zero on the 2DS Eshop.
It’s not for me but some people are going to love the track editor on F-Zero Climax.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (21st September)
I was missing my favourite Mario 2D game (New Super Mario Bros. 2) so I fired up Super Mario Bros. 3 on the Switch Online Advance app.
Good times were had. I really like how it looks and handles.
