Iโm hoping it will be called Switch 2. The name has gained a lot of traction, it is easy to understand, and it will feel a lot like the DS becoming the 3DS.
I know exactly what you mean. When I was younger I realised I was able to re-read a book because enough time had passed that I had forgotten what happened. And the world was good. ๐
I have to say I didn't know the man in this article and I've only recently become aware of Eiji Aonuma after this site reported he's played through Tears Of The Kingdom twenty times and has never got bored.
(I'm a Mario guy but I have played a little Ocarina Of Time and Tears Of The Kingdom.)
@Debo626 No. And thank you so much for being polite. This site is SO friendly. I haven't seen such levels of politeness since the Scottish band Travis's online chat page decades ago. ๐
@Solomon_Rambling Actually I read this wrong the first time as well and had to re-read the paragraph but as is said above Aonuma is 60 and Fujibayashi was born in 1972.
Well caught, though. I didn't spot what would have been a ten year discrepancy in reporting his age.
I really enjoyed a quick speedrun of Super Mario Bros. NES on Nintendo Switch Online. I got halfway through in the short time I had and it was a blast.
For some reason I love that typo in the Central Park Children's Zoo section. 'Super Mario Bro. Wonders.' Made me smile. I mean: what's he wondering about? ๐
Thank you Nintendo Life. You have given me a heads up on many Switch games that I had not heard about and that have given me hours of happy gaming. I appreciate it. Happy New Year to you all, writers and readers of the site alike.
YouTuber Scott The Woz was just saying Skyward Sword is a very linear adventure, probably because of the limitations of the motion controls. Playing that game would be a good option for people who want a linear 3D Zelda.
I remember seeing Marvel characters when I was watching someone play Fortnite. That was fun.
Nintendo in Fortnite could bring a lot of people into using Nintendo products. But I appreciate Nintendo is not normally letting their characters be used like that.
Crazy Taxi please. Itโs still such a good arcade game with the steering wheel and the pedals and that excitement translates to consoles. Wonderful game.
Circus Atari really caught my eye. I'm imagining it feeling like Breakout mixed with an old Game & Watch game where you have to move and catch things.
I love Atari 50. I fired it up again yesterday after hearing this update was coming to play VCTR-SCTR. (I love the twin stick Asteroids bit at the beginning.)
This is interesting. I suppose they are hedging their bets. Either they become like Sega not producing consoles or they win the console wars. Likely it will settle somewhere in between.
Game Pass looks good. I mean, people donโt complain about both Netflix and Prime being on their TV. Maybe there is room for Switch Online and Game Pass on Switch.
Over the years I've come to trust Nintendo. If you go back and use an old controller they aren't as good as the current controller but why that current controller is so good is because of the brave experimentation.
YouTube is on Switch, I'm guessing so you can search how to complete a level if you get stuck. Nintendo probably don't want people getting put off playing games by watching TV.
The Split Pad Compact are excellent. The Split Pad Pro are really good quality but just too big for me. The Compact fits me way better and has the added extra of the rubberised buttons now going to normal button material.
This is such a weird controller but so good. It's one of my very favourite 2D Mario controllers.
I recently had the yellow buttons working as a right stick in the twin-stick shooter Debris Infinity. That was fun.
I was just thinking this morning: I hope they make the buttons re-mappable in a software update. Then you could use it as a six button Sega controller. That would be awesome for fight games.
8BitDo are excellent. Their Pro 2 is basically an SNES controller with PlayStation positioned sticks below. Control Pad is fantastic. Buttons are great too. It's my favourite 2D game controller.
I love the official Switch Pro Controller layout but I just got the not registering a down input problem. At that price if this 8BitDo one has a Control Pad as good as their Pro 2 they are onto a winner.
Completing Arcade Archives VS. Super Mario Bros. with the included save state so I can keep Fire Flower for every level. I'm then hoping you win access to all worlds from the title screen so I can practice.
The new 2D Mario and the new 2D Sonic are both good. But I hear the second half of the Sonic game is not as strong as the first half.
No disrespect to Sonic but as recent as this interview all they want to do is copy Mario. But this might be a good thing if, like the Mario team, they choose not to release their game until it is ready.
I do like Twitch and watch people play games for a few hours at the weekend. I normally just use my phone but It did feel special watching it docked on Switch.
What with YouTube wanting to be child-friendly and Twitch having a lot of adult discussion I guess I can sort of understand this decision.
I would love a reversible left joy-con or the option to buy an official one where the stick and buttons are reversed.
I play a lot of 2D platformers and prefer the separated up down left right buttons to a control pad but I would like the option to have them at the top where the left stick is.
Good article. This is going to be an interesting one. It's a good song. I like it. But surely they must have been aware to make a child-approproate video?
Sayonara Wild Hearts is weird but good. The colour scheme is really memorable too. I bought it on a whim because the cover looked cool and I'm glad I did.
I also know Donut County. I need that game. It's amazing. Such a good idea.
I'll have to look through and see if I know any of their other games.
Yeah. I'm finding I'm really digging the joy-cons in handheld and the joy-con grip on the telly. I LOVE the separate button control pad for 2D games and the joy-cons seem to disappear and I just enjoy the game.

Re: More Tomb Raider Trilogy Info Promised 'Soon' As Fans Question Lack Of Gameplay
Iโd love to play these Tomb Raiders. Apart from playing a bit of The Angel Of Darkness on Mac back in the day I havenโt really had the chance.

@Maxz Ahhh poo. I spotted that but got distracted by a typo that wasn't a typo. ๐
I do normally mention typos in these comments and the busy writers are normally thankful.
Re: Feature: Zelda's Forgotten Steward - Who Is Hidemaro Fujibayashi?
@Solomon_Rambling Gosh. We are going to have the article writer come here now and politely apologies for what wasn't even a typo, aren't we. ๐
I do like Ollie's articles. They are always good.
