Re: Mini Review: Is This Seat Taken? (Switch) - Sit Down And Get Comfy With This Short, Simple Puzzler

geo-shifter

Repetitive? With the concept of the game, the only thing to build upon is having more constraints for a given shape/person.
Trial and error happens closer to the end of solving a puzzle, but there are many types where that happens.
I will agree with the reset button being a really great feature, but I do recall only doing a full reset once for 3 different puzzles.
I’ve beaten the game. It was cute, and definitely short; it could’ve been longer. I’d give it a point higher.

@chewytapeworm No mouse controls. Controller and touch.

Re: Review: Savage Raven By Skull & Co. NeoGrip For Nintendo Switch 2 - Does The Job Very Nicely

geo-shifter

I already preordered the Satisfye Grip. I’ve found a comfortable way to play the console with my fingers gripping the kickstand (crazy, i know), and I’m fine with that until the Satisfye preorders get sent out. In the meantime for a case, I’ll dual purpose my Tomtoc bag that I use for my Legion Go when traveling. Tempting to get this, but the lock thing seems like an important detail to a lot of people. The Mumba is tempting to get as well, but I’m not feeling the look of it.

Re: Donkey Kong Country Artist Shares His Thoughts On Kong's New Design

As people have said, redesign is old design. Reminds me when they changed Trix and people were like, “why the new cereal,” when it was in fact a reversion. Nonetheless, I have no opinion on it and couldn’t care less.

Now someone saying most of Nintendo’s characters not having personality…. Ummm, Star Fox and that whole crew exude personality.

Re: Video: 15 Exciting New Games Coming To Nintendo Switch In January 2025

I’ll pick up Ys and Tales of Graces eventually.
Picked up Cuisineer on the Steam sale around Christmas and have been enjoying it as a low-stress game. Picked up Freedom Wars on PC to play on my Legion Go; it should be a nice grinder until Monster Hunter.
Ender Magnolia sounds nice in theory, but I played Ender Lillies and quit after the fake ending and don’t want to pick it up again.

Re: Zelda's Voice Actor Would Love To See The Princess In "More" Playable Roles

@SigmaNoire I think the negativity is, “I want action. I don’t want puzzle.”

Me personally, I love puzzles and adored this game. As someone having played almost all of the Zelda games, of the new ones, I preferred EoW over BotW. I didn’t bother finishing BotW and outright didn’t buy TotK because of BotW. I’m down for a sequel/spinoff with Zelda again but with different mechanics.
Bring back Mystical Seed of Courage as a Puzzle game with Zelda!

Re: Pokémon Unite Developer Releasing New Monster Hunter Game For Mobile Devices

@Rayquaza2510 , @jojobar already said it, but your phone doesn’t need to be that high end. But like I said, regardless, it’s still battery draining even for the latest phones.

Also, I didn’t say most people play these games with Bluetooth gamepads. @LavenderShroud stated they feel like controllers are necessary, and I just responded with the fact that there are options.

Regardless, your responses prove my point even more as to why waste time playing these games. Battery draining, lack of a decent phone, touch screen instead of a controller.

Re: Pokémon Unite Developer Releasing New Monster Hunter Game For Mobile Devices

1) Having an iPhone 7 Plus isn’t the norm. Most people are above iPhone XS/XR. Granted, these games drain batteries like crazy still.

2) Phones have Bluetooth. There are Bluetooth controllers designed for this use case (Backbone), and you can also connect console controllers to phones. I’ve connected my Switch controller to my Apple TV and to my iPhone before. They even have phone mount clips that attach to controllers.

What I don’t get is wanting to play these watered down games that reek of micro-transactions just to drain your phone battery, while there’s a great console game that those games are based off of.

Re: Round Up: The Previews Are In For LEGO Horizon Adventures

geo-shifter

It sounds good, but not quite like I thought it would be. I was hoping for light crafting mechanics, and maybe light survival. A mix of the LEGO and Horizons mechanics so to speak. But they’re describing it as a beat ‘em up, “a LEGO game through and through.” Which, again, isn’t bad, but not quite what I wanted.

Re: Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom Walkthrough

Also keep in mind there are kids playing this. Although some of us are adults now and the game isn’t difficult for us, there was a time we were (or at least I was) playing these at 9/10 years old stumped as crap trying to figure out what to do in Oracle of Ages/Seasons. This game takes a little creativity and critical thinking skills some children may not have yet.

Re: Capcom Says It Will Continue To Grow The Ace Attorney Series

I’m not too surprised by this, and it’s kind of good to hear. I have a feeling they’re going to take another whack at furthering the anime. I don’t know how I feel about that.
@BenAV although it was released in Japan, the second AA Investigations is technically new to the US (unless you played it with the translation patch some years ago on the DS).

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (1st June)

@Yalloo I’m into all kinds of music, industrial included. It’s just when it comes to rhythm games, I get into the game more when the music is high energy.

Taiko no Tatsujin is a decent one. I just haven’t bothered to purchase it still.
I think Groove Coaster and (once I get it) Arcaea will be my mains for Switch.

I’m totally willing to spend a good $3k-$5k for a Wacca machine if it’s the only way I can play. Lol

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (1st June)

geo-shifter

@Yalloo don’t get CryMachina. Lol. Or wait until it’s on a VERY steep sale.

With rhythm games, it’s about the music type, along with the controls for me. I enjoy the controls, and the music selection is awesome. If you’re into Vocaloid, that’s in there, but there’s quite a bit of happy hardcore type music. I listen to Hardcore Tano*C, and there are quite a few track from some of those contributing artists. I enjoy the DLC, although they can be cumulatively pricey for some.

I find rhythm game fans to not be all that uniform. I’ve considered Project Diva, but don’t deem the control scheme worth the price, even when on sale. Soundfall was a little disappointing. Deemo, Musynx, and Thumper never caught my attention, despite watching many videos. I bought Super Beat Xonic, and the controls on the Switch were not well-matched for it; that one might be better with a different type of controller, where the analogs are in the same mirrored places.

I’ve played Wacca recently and wished I had a cabinet of my own. Lol. Of course love DDR; I have stepmania with a bunch of song packs on PC and bought a custom dance mat from overseas. I enjoyed Necrodancer, although I never went back to beat it. And I hope Arcaea goes on sale on Switch so I can have it there instead of iPad. I’d say always watch videos of gameplay, and find out what the music selection is like for any rhythm game you think about buying.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (1st June)

In the past month, I bought 4 physical games, thank you Woot! And PlayAsia: and beaten most of them this week.

CryMachina: was on sale on Woot so I decided to give it a chance. Beaten.

Got the next 3 from PlayAsia

Ghost Trick: I hadn’t played it since the DS, and really wanted this one physical. Had so much fun again, but remembered a few too many of the tricky puzzles. Beaten.

Sanabi: This was a good one! Although it was a bit narrative heavy, I minded the narration less and less as it got closer to the end. Beaten last night.

Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights : I have high hopes for this one. Starting this one today.

Prince of Persia:The Lost Crown: I need to go back and beat this one, but I’m having so much fun with my other games.

Groove Coaster: Wai Wai Party: I always make time for a little Groove Coaster in between other games.

@deecas it depends on what kind of games calm your mind. I will play puzzle games to calm my mind and play them before bed. I played through a lot of my Ace Attorney library at night before bed; just a bunch of reading. Also Cloud Gardens puts me in auto pilot. The Shape Of Things also lulled me to sleep at nights I played before bed.
