Not sure if it's just a thing that happens at the beginning, but the combo system seems clunky. I wasn't digging it. The dodge mechanic was fantastic though!
I typically stay away from most games that have “roguelite,” but since there’s a demo, I’m open to trying to it. I’m actually kind of digging the pixel anime style.
This is the one game I wanted to play with cousins over Christmas after dinner. Uuuuugh! Double dippin’ on this for the physical and digital release for sure.
Got too many games during the past several weeks due to sales. Continuing to play Sakuna; got Dusk Diver to play which the combat is something I wanted on the Switch, but could do without the story; maybe play some hammerwatch; and trying not to play Odyssey that I got with a controller, since I still have one of the 3D all-stars games to beat before I start another Mario game.
Why would you leave that stuff at your parents? Get your own storage facility. This seems like something someone would know their parent(s) to have a habit of doing beforehand. At the same time, the parents should've either asked about the stuff, or told the kid to get his stuff out their house.
Also, I understand the total panic attack about this, but to tweet, "I'm going to kill someone..." Dude, really?!
I’ve almost beaten Tales of Vesperia! The path toward the ending is amazing! And helps connect dots between this game and others I’ve played in the series. I’m figuring out if I want to finish it today and go to playing more Sakuna, or just pop in Sakuna and veg out on it all day.
The game is nice for what it is... But at the end of the day, it’s still a musou game. And the other Hyrule Warriors game tired me out. I got Hyrule Warriors Definitive as one of my first Switch games, and then proceeded to try to get all the maps done after the story - there’s a bunch of gameplay among the maps - which I didn’t just because I was exhausted of the genre before I could finish them. I’ll wait to get this. Besides, I think I should get Warriors Orochi 4 when I’m ready to buy in this genre. I haven’t played an actual Warriors game with original skin since the one on 3DS.
I’m not surprised. The “cover art” showed promise, but I at least knew it wasn’t going to be a game for me. This solidified the general consensus for me. Maybe on a seriously steep sale some months from now.
I played the demo... There's more flow in making combos in Wizard of Legend than this game, but not to compare this to another game. In general it felt real difficult trying to do combos, and there's this god awful sound effect that's not like a sword when using the necromancer sword. I also found it disappointing that I had to get rid of an item in an inventory slot for potion I was going to immediately use anyway. I feel I'm being a bit nitpicky, but all in all, I think I'll pass on this. Great concept though!
I’ve played D3 to death, and I want to try this, but I feel like I’d be better off breaking from D3, and playing it next season instead of buying this.
I always see these trailers, and even almost bought Torchlight 2, but then I think about Diablo 3, and I always would rather pick that up again for a season than get TL for Switch.
Been trying to finish God Eater 3 so I can go back to Mario Sunshine. I started playing Genshin Impact on PC, and tried it on Smartphone as well. I don’t care what people say, but I like the “anime Breath of the Wild” clone.
@LatsaSpege lies! When I was still kicking under 16 I loved the heck out of any type of trandsformers (Transformers, Beast Wars, Beast Machines , Power Ranger megazords, figures with armor you could put on/take off,
@Ratking we obviously all don’t, but some of us do.
I went to school for computer science with a minor in Japanese language. Sure I don’t remember kanji, but that’s why we have furigana.
This doesn’t discount the fact that this article is still some sort of not useful though.
3D All-Stars of course! Doing a Sunshine run - since I never played it - and trying not to play 2 of them at the same time, because I’m kind of anxious to play Galaxy again. Then, sprinkle some Aragami hunting in from God Eater 3. I’m digging it so much more than when I played the first GE on PSP!
As an LGBT+ member, one word I absolutely abhor (written, of course) is ‘gaymer’. I was a gamer before I came out, I’m still a gamer. I don’t need an extra effing letter. No judgement on the people that use it, but makes me cringe when I see it.
@AxeltheBuizel yes! If you don’t know the material, play it still. Even better, if you have a way to watch the movie (It’s on Netflix) watch it. Tons of video game references. (And even a Seinfeld reference in there.) I almost died when I saw this! Getting physical and digital if physical comes out later.
Dang! Had this on my wishlist as well. At this moment with 2 playthroughs of Superliminal under my belt, if Manifold can’t hold up to Superliminal’s standard in terms of puzzle tricks and profoundness, I’ll wait for a sale.
I got a new physical copy of God Eater 3 from GameStop (shiver) 50% off, so I’ll be playing Tales of Vespiria until that comes in the mail. And I’ll probably be trying to beat Tales and hunting In GE3 until 3D All Stars comes in (which I got for ~$16 USD).
I’ve had money burning in my pocket to buy games that aren’t Cross Code. Immediately bought Raji. If I don’t like it, oh well, but the soundscapes and Indian inspired setting excites me.
Hades was somewhat interesting, but... “roguelike” ugh. I’ll wait for a sale. I was mad at myself for buying Dead Cells when I first got my Switch, so I’ll wait for the low-low on Hades.
I beat Carrion, which was a helluva lot more entertaining than I expected. I got Strikey Sisters on sale and have been playing that since off work. I need to beat Tales of Vesperia as a valid reason to finally buy Cross Code. Looks like Damon’s Tilt is on sale, and I’m considering getting Hammerwatch/Heroes.
Gotta finish Carrion. I wanted Iconoclast since it’s on sale, but I may play Noitu Love 2 since it was recommended and made by the same developer as Iconoclast. I also still want to buy CrossCode, but that’s a lot of game time.
This was giving me Phantom Breaker Battle Grounds vibes... then I saw Mages. I will say Phantom Breaker BG didn’t do anything spectacular or new to the genre, but the music was pretty great. I sunk in so many hours, and double-dipped for a cheap price. It was a great beat ‘em up quick pick-up game.
I wish I could unbuy the remaster just so they don’t make a sequel. The game wasn’t utterly horrible, but it definitely didn’t live up to the hype everyone gave it.
I’m trying to decide if I want Crosscode physical and digital, or just buy the physical and wait to play. Maybe play Tales of Vesperia so I can beat that before playing Crosscode. I beat Superliminal already: that game was so profound! And throw in a little Streets of Rage 4 since my physical edition came in this week.
@RainbowGazelle I don’t want to say it’s awful exactly. It has everything else going for it personally: the graphics/visuals, the animation, the music, it has a comedy factor, etc. I just got my physical of SoR4 though, and love love LOVE it. I’ve been very picky about what I buy lately. I have plenty disposable income, but don’t feel like wasting it on games (eg. I bought Wonderful 101 and ended up being disappointed). RCG and SoR4 are the only beat ‘em ups I’ve bought on Switch so far.
I wish I liked RCG like everyone else did, but the controls just killed it for me. SoR4 is more to my liking as far as controls. I’m curious to see what WayForward has though.
