🥳🥳HAPPY BIRTHDAY NINTENDO LIFE! 🥳🥳

Been using on a daily basis for 12 of those years and had an account for 9 of them. Literally the one website I take great pleasure using on a daily basis. Please keep up the incredible work! 🙌

Re: Expect To See The Switch Logo Pop Up In Future Xbox Showcases

@jufonuk Companies make very little, if any profit on the actual hardware, so by letting their software appear on other systems, they can make profit from those sales. From a business perspective, it's great and will make Microsoft a ton of money, but from a fans perspective, kind of a slap in the face if you shelled 400 odd pounds on a console only to see the games appear elsewhere.

Re: Physical Game Sales Took A Nosedive In The UK Last Year

fox_mattcloud

@Jack_Goetz I know what you mean. I've had to import about 10 Capcom games, just so I can have the physically. It's really annoying. The Marvel vs Capcom collection was the most bizarre one. They released a physical disc copy for PS4 and then released a code in a box for Switch. What is even the point of that? 🤯

What I will say though is this, if physical gaming was to ever stop, or at least, the way it is today (I guess we'll always have things such as Limited Run, Pix and Love, Strictly Limited, etc), I will probably call it a day buying new games and just focus on playing all my older games. Buying something and not really owning it seems somewhat silly to me, but that's just my opinion. Each to their own. 🤷

Re: Book Review: An Unendorsed Anthology Of Club Nintendo - A Terrific Tribute Tome

fox_mattcloud

This looks a lovely book. May have to consider looking into getting it.

I still have some Club Nintendo items from back in the day. I have a SNES pro controller for the Wii, a Club Nintendo games rack shaped like the logo, a Mario Kart Wii lanyard, a Club Nintendo branded plushy question mark block that makes sounds, Mario Kart 8 CD, Animal Crossing CD, Kirby Triple Deluxe CD, Smash Bros CD, Zelda Ocarina of Time CD, Mario branded Hanafuda cards, StarFox Assault poster and I'm sure I have a couple of other items too, but can't remember from the top of my head. I did have a Club Nintendo branded hat, but I lost that one.

Re: Japanese Charts: Mario & Luigi Sail Past The Competition

@YunoboCo You're comparing an RPG to a party game there though. RPG's appeal to a certain audience only, where party games appeal to a much higher audience.

I wouldn't worry too much about those sales numbers. With Christmas coming up, people will be starting to reign in their spending now, so it's not as if people don't want to actually play the game

Re: Knuckles Physical Blu-ray And DVD Release Arrives Later This Year

fox_mattcloud

I enjoyed it, though it wasn't what it was portrayed to be. It was a Knuckles TV show that had very little to do with Knuckles. The bad guys had naff all character development, the show also just ended without really any closure, there were many faults. That being said, it was rather humorous in places and it gave Wade a bit more of a personality. I'd give it a 6.5 out of 10. Fun, but flawed. I'd grab a hard copy just to add to the Sonic blu rays on the shelf

Re: Nintendo Releases New EarthBound Beginnings Switch Online Icons

fox_mattcloud

This is just cruel! 😂

Seriously, for anyone actually wanting to play it, there is an incredible fan translation out there which had years of hard work out into it. I actually scored a GBA cartridge of it on ebay for around 10-15 pounds. Don't get me wrong, I would love nothing more than an official release, but if you REALLY want to play it, there are options

Re: Soapbox: Tricks Of The Trade-In - Chronicles Of An Ex-GAME Employee

Really enjoyed reading this. I'm sorry that you had to deal with the negative side of things, especially being attacked. Nobody should have to deal with that. I've been in retail myself since the age of 16. I'm now 35 and whilst I definitely share my frustrations with working in it, it genuinely makes me sad and breaks my heart to see what is happening to all the retailers out there. Downsizing, closing down, etc, it's just really sad. Going into a shop offers something that online shopping just doesn't quite offer and that is human interaction. The many times I've been into shops, in particular game shops, and have had conversations with complete strangers about things that my own friends aren't interested in has been such a fantastic experience or being complemented on wearing a gaming shirt that an employee might also happen to like always perks you up for the day. I pray that retailers find a way to survive and keep on going. The positives in your story that you shared with us are why we need these shops to keep going and we should support them.

Re: Bill & Ted's Excellent Retro Collection Is About To Be Delisted On The Switch eShop

fox_mattcloud

@CharlieFen I bought the Scott Pilgrim KO edition from them and waited nearly 2 years for it to arrive. I believe my Classic Editions of the Konami collections have each taken best part of a year. I've had the Contra and Castlevania ones, but still waiting on the Arcade and Castlevania Advance ones. Night Trap on the GBA as well has been a 9, nearly 10 month wait now. I think if you're just wanting a standard, regular copy, you're fine, but anything fancy, you're gonna be facing a long wait. I'm not saying I support this business model, because it isn't the best, but people need to consider production and manufacturing times and that isn't going to happen overnight.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Still Making Them, So What amiibo Do You Still Want To See?

fox_mattcloud

A line of the 8bit ones would be nice. The Mario and Link ones were great, but I'd love to see more. Kirby, Donkey Kong, Excite Bike, Pit (Kid Icarus), Ice Climbers, Takamaru (Mysterious Marasame Castle), amongst others. I'd buy those in a heartbeat. It just feels Nintendo have always played it safe with the characters they choose for the amiibo line, when there are so many possibilities

Re: Wario's New Voice Actor Confirms Role On Social Media

fox_mattcloud

I thought Afghani nailed Mario and Luigi wonderfully. Different enough to stand out, yet also similar enough to keep people happy.

Wario on the other hand.......I'm not so sure. I've been playing WarioWare Move It and I don't know, there's just something about it that bothers me. Hopefully it'll grow on me, but right now, I'm not sold on the Wario voice

I got so excited when this was announced on the Nintendo Direct, I preordered almost instantly. After playing the Dreamcast and Wii games, I knew I was going to like it. It was 26 pounds on Amazon to preorder and I had a 5 pound voucher. For a little over 20 quid, I was more than happy to take the gamble. After playing the demo, I couldn't wait to get my hands on the full version. The Amazon driver is currently on his rounds, so I should have it really soon! 🙌
