Re: Shin chan: Me And The Professor On Summer Vacation Bags Physical Release

fox_mattcloud

This was my biggest surprise of last year. I've wanted to play the Summer Vacation games for years. When Attack of the Friday Monsters released, I thought there might be a higher chance of them getting localised, but no. Nothing. Then all of a sudden, Shin Chan got a release outside of Japan and what a pleasant surprise it was. It's just so chill. If ever you fancy a break from your usual loud, crazy, in your face games, I seriously recommend trying this one. Its such a lovely game

Re: Random: Here's A Closer Look At Every Mario Movie McDonald's Toy

fox_mattcloud

As a 34 year old who wants these as a Nintendo and Mario collector, I'd not get much out of the actual plastic toys, though I'd have loved them as a kid. The cardboard ones are much more sturdy than the usual cardboard stuff and they look great for display purposes. Arguably, I'd say the plastic toys are more for younger kids and the cardboard ones are more for grown up Mario fan, even if both are actually aimed at kids

Re: PSA: You Can Download A Free Sonic Frontiers Demo From Japan's eShop

I went for the Xbox version after wondering whether the Switch version would be a good version to go for or not. It looked really nice on the more powerful systems that I didn't feel confident that the Switch could handle it. I've now finished the game and unlocked every achievement. I might check it out just to see how it runs on Switch, but it seems pointless to double dip

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Sonic Prime

I binged it all yesterday with my son. I had an absolute blast with it. Silly enough for kids, whilst also keeping it mature enough for the older Sonic fan. There's also a few nice easter eggs to keep an eye out for too. If I had to pick a fault with it, I didn't like the abrupt ending. I just hope that means we won't have to wait too long for more episodes

Re: Arcade Archives Nintendo Collection Goes On Sale For The First Time Ever, 30% Off

Sky Skipper is one die hard Nintendo fans should pick up. It serves as a really interesting piece of history as the game was so poorly recieved that Nintendo turned all the machines into Popeye cabinets. There is now only one Sky Skipper machine left in the world which sits in the Nintendo of America headquarters. The fact that this game got a release at all on the Switch is really quite something. The game itself isn't gonna blow anybody away, but it's just a nice little curio that has some rather cool history behind it! πŸ˜πŸ‘

Re: Sega Reveals Sonic Frontiers 'Ares Island' Theme Song

Stunning piece of music. The soundtracks never fail to disappoint, regardless of the game itself. Whilst I admit, this is somewhat a different approach to Sonic music, it's one I welcome with open arms. I actually feel a bit more confident about my preorder on the games soundtrack on vinyl now

Re: Video: Here's What Alan Wake Remastered Looks Like On Switch

fox_mattcloud

Bought it on 360 back in 2010, it very quickly became one of my favourite games of all time. Bought the remaster on Series X last year and enjoyed it once more. For the price, I couldn't say no to getting it again on Switch. That's just the fan in me I guess, but I will say that the downgrade in graphics far from make this unplayable

Re: Poll: Do You Actually Want Switch Ports Wind Waker And Twilight Princess?

fox_mattcloud

It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't keep charging 50 quid each time. Twilight Princess and Wind Waker are now on 3 different consoles. Why don't they remake other Zelda titles? Link's Awakening proved just how fresh they could make an older game feel. Remake Minish Cap or the Oracle games. Those would be worth dropping the cash on.

Of course, that is just my opinion and everyone is entitled to one before I get abuse in the comments πŸ˜…

Re: Sonic Frontiers Story Trailer Officially Confirms November Release

fox_mattcloud

I have been very skeptical regarding Frontiers. The announcement trailer had me thinking it looked pretty, but it was one big empty open world. This trailer fills me some confidence, but I think if Sega released a demo, it would help make other peoples minds up. Saying that, my 4 year old is OBSESSED with Sonic at the moment, so I don't think I'll have a choice in picking this one up 🀣

Re: Review: Shin chan: Me And The Professor On Summer Vacation - The Endless Seven-Day Journey - An Irresistible Adventure

fox_mattcloud

Bought this based on your video from the other week. I know a little about Shin Chan and watched the odd episode here and there as a kid, but I loved Attack of the Friday Monsters and I would love to play the My Summer Vacation games, if they were available in English. Glad I bought this though. It's just so chill and sometimes, it's great to have a game like this

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 6th)

fox_mattcloud

Well yesterday I discovered that Fall Guys is currently doing a Fatal Fury collaboration, meaning I can have a jelly bean dressed as Terry Bogard or Mei Shiranui! That is way too cute and awesome to pass up on, so I'm gonna spend some time with that on Switch and of course, spend some more time with the Mario Kart 8 DLC. It's so great to have Waluigi Pinball back again. I also recently got a Japanese copy of Shinobi X/Legions, aka Shin Shinobi Den on the Sega Saturn, so I'm looking forward to some 2D hack and slash platformer action. πŸ˜πŸ‘Œ

Re: Sonic Origins Shows Off Animated Cutscenes, Mirror Mode, And More

fox_mattcloud

Sega really could have gone half assed with this if they really wanted to and it would have still sold a ton. I'm so happy that they didn't have that mindset when announcing it. This looks a perfect compilation for both old and new Sonic fans. I've already preordered it and with my 4 year old massively into Sonic right now, this looks like the perfect release for any 90s Sega kid who is now at the point of having children themselves
