I just can't do another Starfox/64/Zero remake. I love StarFox but unless we are getting g a drastically different experience I can't do another Andross has invaded the lylat system and fox must battle from Cornera to... yadayada. I've done that three times now, in games that play pretty similarly to the NES original.
I really enjoyed this when it launched on gamepass. Loved the story, loved the world, loved the music but man the combat is the most okayiest thing to ever okay, in the history of OK and the legends of K.
Not bad, not good, the combat simply is.
In the grand scheme of "this could have been a movie" I think I prefer okay platforming and combat over the quick time fests of the ps3 era.
I hope if there is a DK film it's a him and pauline adventure, I really enjoyed them in DKB, and they made a point of introducing her in the first film.
Not going to add it but so far every ____ warriors game I've thrown at it has been great. The extra S2 power already smoothed performance issues and with this on they look better and you get the full enemy counts
Don't get me wrong, LOVE this. This is litteraly the one thing I've been asking for since the S2 was formally annouced.
But I do wish we could also set it on a per game basis. Because there will be games that I want the touchscreen for (though I did see someone say one game still had touch controls apprently the dev still had it enabled in docked mode.) And some I want the better performance
@Arkham24601 See thats what's held me back from getting it on Switch 2. Its the exact sort of game that lends itself to the handheld but the demo UI was... small.
I think a hybrid approach, do the Gen V thing of locking most of the Dex away but not all the classic mon, use the lock to not only give the new monsters room but also give some more overlooked mon a chance. Not that they'd ever lock Pikachu away, again, but players would be far more likely to give the other electric mice a try without "the chu" being an option.
I am suprised they haven't included portable ops as a bonus. I know it's canon status at it's best is shakey (ie isn't) but it dose set up Peacewalker and in turn MGS5.
I might get it for Switch 2, but not if they don't have online creations again. I don't want to spend hundreds of hours making crap versions of much better-made versions of characters I'm not going to personally play as.
@molkom I was just thinking, it's interesting that they are just hard-locking their existing censorship setting and haven't made any adjustments to the game itself like they did with the artbook.
Surely if it was a Japan thing, they could have just hardlock the option for the JPN version and leave it a toggle for RoW.
This is the right call, the only reason they've been able to keep their annual release it because it wasn't actually one game releasing every year its was 4 different games taking turns.
MW3 should have already killed this idea of back to back releases.
@MojoMonkey98 From what someone else said the Switch 2 version is a separate thing from the anniversary edition, which was an add-on to the original release. So in theory... MAYBE, buying the Anniversary DLC should give us access to the digital Switch 2 version, but it very much needs testing to confirm. It might be like Hogwarts, where you had to access the store via the physical game to see the offer.
How much can it be disassembled? I wonder how hard it would be to redo the artwork yourself.
EDIT: The Amazon page seems to show the separate parts, wouldn't be difficult to replace the top and side artwork, but it looks like the fight stick is fully integrated with the front, so you'd have to work around that.
hmmm.. I purposely avoiding buying this on Xbox because of Switch 2 mouse mode... so now I'm not sure. Being portable is certainly a big win but so is the better performance.
I guess its a race between the devs confirming mouse mode and an Xbox sale
Like many I really like the gameplay, both the battling and the "cozy stuff" but the city isn't grabbing me. Most of the "Wild Zones" are just bits of the city that has more pokemon and not interesting places to explore/visit. (I do like it is acknowledged in game that its not a great idea)
Seems to be what I was expecting. The city setting is weak, but the combat is strong.
I still don't understand why they made this subseries that made its name being A) in the past and B) about exploration, and shoved it in a city in the modern day.
I was annoyed because this is the sort of thing I prefer to play on Switch, but it wasn't, so I bought it (on sale) on Xbox, and then it got announced for Switch.
I'm glad we're starting to see some more experimental Trek games (bbeen way too many mobile nonsense). We have that Voyager rouge-like, a VR survival horror
@Shepdawg1 same sort of thing here. given a straigth choice between a GK and Digital game I will probably pick the digital unless its a game that my kids will want to play too (woo lending) or one I'm not too sold on (woo resale), but I will not turn my nose up at saving money (GKs go on sale with some frequency, and stuff like Street Fighter you save money picking up the GK even at full RRP)
What I don't understand is the folks who want Code in a Box instead. Like, I get the argument it's pure digital, so they don't have to carry the card around just to access the digital version... but the pure digital copies haven't gone anywhere, they can still pick that up.
Art wise that looks fantastic but a lot of these AC "inspired" games fail at emulating how AC deals out its content over time and you end up seeing all they have to offer you on a week or so.
@Whirlwound "A second Kirby Air Riders Direct? That’s just greedy, Sakurai-kun."
That was my thought. That first direct sure felt... extensive. Just what is there left to talk about? It's... just going to be Sakurai making jokes isn't it?

Re: Splatoon Raiders' Switch 2 Price And Box Art Have Been Revealed
Honestly I've been dying for a meatier Splatoon campaign (the previous ones was decent but clearly playing 2nd fiddle to multiplayer.)
I guess we're not getting a direct for a while

Re: Review: South Of Midnight (Switch 2) - A Port That Compromises What This Enjoyable Game Did Best
Shame the Switch port is shaky.

Good fun once you get into the groove.

That Geko is too shifty, I do appreciate the owl is very much done with us already
Re: PSA: Metal Gear Solid 4 Is The Headliner, But Master Collection Vol. 2's "Bonus" Is One Of GBC's Best
I am suprised they included this (still have the cart laying around here somewhere) but not Portable Ops which Peace Walker builds off.

Man I loved Peace Walker.

I don't quite expect Alan Wake 2 but man if they do release it I will have to buy it again. Hopefully they have Crosssaves

Well, that saves me some cash.
As others noted, super weird Cyberpunk and Witcher are uncensored, and this isn't.
Re: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment Surpasses 1 Million Copies Sold
I just fi ished it last night. Loved it. Though that ominous missing character slot haunts me.
I do wish we explored the relationships between these characters more but it is a "warriors" game so gets a tentative pass.
Re: The Fable Reboot Is Reportedly "Under Consideration" For Switch 2
@datamonkey I suspect its just money, they know it's possible but they don't want to spend the money making it happen.
Re: The Fable Reboot Is Reportedly "Under Consideration" For Switch 2
Microsoft really loves to talk about Switch 2 support but never seems to actually do much of anything.
Re: PSA: Dynasty Warriors: Origins On Switch 2 Includes A Variable Frame Rate Option
Sounds like it should have a 40fps for 120hz displays like the s2 screen (and coincidently my monitor).
Re: Review: Dynasty Warriors: Origins (Switch 2) - A Super-Solid Port Of A Fantastic Reboot
I wonder if this is going to get an Empires expansion because that'll be intetesting or is that why we regetting the classic remake.
Re: CRKD Announces The 'Nitro Deck 2', Compatible With Switch And Switch 2
Cool but I'll least for there to be more colours. I liked the gamecube one for S1.

I like that they are doing stacking discounts.
buy on launch, 10%off
have the 1-3 Remaster, another 10% off
have the 4-6 remaster, another 10% off.
Re: Pokémon Pokopia Is Seemingly Nintendo's First Game-Key Card Release

Re: Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition Brings The Apocalypse To Switch 2 In 2026
@Daimando With how far out 5 is, I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't being saved for later. Either dropping the originals or remasters
Re: Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition Brings The Apocalypse To Switch 2 In 2026
Will likely pick this up, wonder if it has mod support since it evidently based on the latest version of it.
I really enjoyed playing Skyrim Anniversary Edition with all the creation content integrated in, would love to do the same with Fallout on Switch 2.
Though I think that "150" number might be misleading, as the dog breeds and weapon/armour paints are available separately and together.

I wonder what SE has against the upgrade path?
I'm guessing it's so we don't buy the S1 version for our collections and then get the upgrade leaving the S2 version on the store shelf.

Re: Dragon Quest VII Gets Reimagined For Switch And Switch 2 In Early 2026
II don't know why, but I kinda hate that it looks like that.
I get it's honouring the original artsyle, but we already had a remake doing that on the 3DS.
I also hate that I'm still going to be playing it again.
