@wiiware I kind of agree… while I love the Mystery Dungeon I feel like this game would’ve been perfect for a 2D hand drawn art style or pixel art. 3D models kind of cheapen the experience since so much of the game is grounded in the aesthetic beauty.

If this had been in the September Direct in the West then that Direct would have been a certified banger for me. I’m thoroughly excited about this release and cannot wait… it’s been far too long since the last Mystery Dungeon game released.

I’m just happy to make it to the end. This game is nuts.

It wasn’t the most exciting, but great to see an update on Super Mario RPG and new life into F-Zero though.

Usually I’m all for wild speculation, but this year we may not have a traditional September direct. While my perception of time may be skewed I feel like the summer direct occurred later than usual. Perhaps the only thing that stood out to me during that direct was that this Fall seems very light leading into the holiday season.

I’m calling it now… game is on life support and servers go offline next year.

@Tipehtfomottob We appreciate Rayman Legends because it truly is a masterwork. The last thing I’d want is for Rayman to follow the path of Sonic the Hedgehog and have 10 mediocre titles for every 1 quality title. Nintendo rarely releases more than one Mario game on a system, and it reflects in how they rewrite the rules of how a Mario game should play. When there is more than one, it’s either a generational jump (I.e: SMB > SMB3), essentially an expansion/DLC (I.e.: Galaxy 1 > Galaxy 2), or a port from another console. Games like Assassins Creed and Far Cry are not necessarily a fair comparison though because they’re released so frequently there isn’t sufficient time to iterate on them.

Legends wasn’t so much of a step up from Origins though… it was more like Origins+. As much as I loved Rayman Legends, I think the key is walking a fine line of new content without feeling like they’re retreading old ground. Perhaps Ubisoft needs to take a message from how they handle Rayman and follow suit with their other franchises to allow room for them to breath.

@JokerCK Warframe has surprisingly been one of the best F2P games for the past 10 years. Some people just want to complain about F2P.

@SalvorHardin He enjoys engaging with his followers and caters directly to them, but he is perfectly confident in his own shoes without needing anyone else’s approval.

I’m not opposed to trainers getting disqualified, but I think that they need to rollout stricter trade protocols to prevent illicit trades in the first place. Trainers shouldn’t need to worry that a random Pokémon in their lineup was hacked simply because it was a trade.

@Tempestryke It’s been in open beta the past couple years on Steam. The predecessor, 20XX, is currently available.

@EVIL-C That makes zero sense unless they’re recreating Undead in RDR2 and porting RDR2 to the Switch. I’d chalk it up to server costs. If anything it’s potential buyers like me that they took into account when setting the MSRP because I’m already a lost market segment.

@Batfan2425 Wait… what? They removed the multiplayer? Ong… I don’t mind dropping $50 for Undead, but removing the only reason I played it initially makes this an immediate no.

@anoyonmus From my experience, the FPS doesn’t make that much of a difference except in high tier gameplay, which most casual players likely wouldn’t notice any difference in the first place.

@anoyonmus A difference in FPS doesn’t justify removing a feature on an otherwise one-for-one port.

It’s really awesome that the Switch is getting a port, but I feel like the Switch is still the least appealing version of the game since it’s excluded from crossplay.

I wish he were… I can only imagine what a director’s cut of this game would be like… post game content, additional side activities and quests, etc. Oh well, I’m still excited.

I don’t mind brawlers, but I’d really like a revival of the Clash of the Ninja series. The fighting in that game was so enjoyable.

During the last week I tried ordering a couple of the Pokémon shirts, but due to overwhelming demand their website was basically offline all the time. Saved me some money, but still kind of disappointing.

It’s funny… while reading the reviews for AEW’s game I was thinking about NFL Blitz and the awesome arcade action. What a wonderful time we live in to basically relive the N64 era.

I have mixed feelings about this. While I agree that the Switch will isn’t the target audience for CoD, I think there is an audience who would still appreciate and purchase the game.

@Fizza The judge seems to be highly skeptical of anything the FTC is putting forth. So far the judge has shut their FTC’s attorneys down multiple times for excessive probing.

I dunno… I just assumed that Splatlings have a different culture than our own. I never really looked at them ask making masculine or feminine poses.

This reminds me of Transformers Prime. That was such a good series. While I’ve enjoyed Earthspark, I liked the personality of characters in Prime more. Hopefully the game is good.

@Serpenterror Seems like everything can be summed up that the main issue is that it trying to stick too much in the past while not keeping up with changing formulas in platform games.

I don’t understand the hate towards Sonic 4. Episode I and II felt like perfectly serviceable old school Sonic games to me.

I’m so torn on this game. On the one hand I backed it on Kickstarter because it fits all my desires in a good farming sim, on the other the devs have been back and forth on online crossplay. Since I mainly play co-op and rarely dive into single player games anymore it puts me at odds on what console I wanted this on since if crossplay is available I generally get the Switch version. I think for this I ended up getting two copies just to participate in the beta and a Switch copy.

Awe… these are so cute. I’d totally pickup all of them if I had some guarantee that a Switch 2 were real and they’d be future proof.

Considering that Sony can’t be honest of the time between when the Switch launched and the PS5 launched I don’t believe anything on this chart.

I generally don’t tinker with key remapping because all I can do is make the game feel more complicated. However, with how many times I’ve thrown away a perfectly good sword trying to run because I’m used to the Souls control scheme I could probably go with remapping this time around.

Lego 2K Drive would’ve been a day one buy on Switch for me if it had crossplay. Switch is excluded from crossplay though so I’ll likely pick it up on another console.

I’m not sure why they felt the need to further clarify this. It’d divide the community even if they ended up releasing an inferior product. There was no winning in this situation.

@shoeses Except there’s no value in a dead game. The player population is already dwindling to the point that the lobbies are mostly AI. Switch Online is the most economical option for the options available… it may not provide free games like Sony or Microsoft, but as someone who’s subbed to all three I get the most value just out of the Switch for how much I play online.

Sega looks set to remain in the 6 month bargain bin.

Can we get Mario 40 yet? I’d prefer that… only played Pac-Man 99 a few times and didn’t really enjoy it. Same with Tetris, but at least there I understood the core gameplay.

They’re still adding story missions so I’m good with it. I wasn’t very excited about hero mode because I remember the Battleborn level up system and it wasn’t much fun for me.

As a die-hard video game fanatic, I can't help but feel a profound sense of disappointment and sadness after learning that Nintendo Power will no longer be produced. Growing up with the magazine was like having a constant companion, guiding me through the ever-evolving world of gaming. It not only fueled my passion for video games, but also shaped my understanding of this incredible form of art and entertainment. It’s disappointing to now lose it once more. Its legacy will forever be etched in my mind, reminding me of the profound impact it had on my life and the world of gaming as a whole. Hopefully one day I can get around to framing my copy of the first and final issues.

I hope this means we can get more Dragon Marked For Death. That was such a solid platform action RPG.

It’s just optional content, doesn’t affect core gameplay, and isn’t temporarily available like most passes. It’s frustrating that I have Disney Speedstormers and probably won’t get to the final tier despite playing 3x per week, so I can get behind this. The real question then will be am I playing this or Diablo 4?

Well… that was unexpected… I guess UK is ready to kill console gaming. Who’s ready for the Switch Cloud? Be prepared for that latency when playing on Cloud 9. I might go back to board games if that’s where gaming goes so I f Hookshot Media needs someone to start a board game media empire let me know. I’ll be happy to be a guinea pig for this experiment, first review will be Pandemic Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
