Has this legit even been pitched to Sega? As far as companies that are open to collaborative projects this seems like something Sega should seriously consider with the artist. Surely there is a studio out there that would collab on this.
I have no idea what they are, but I’m thinking that I might tackle the other two stories first. After 25 years, I’m a little burned out from the gyms and league motif to the point that I just caught Pokémon in the wild areas for 45 hours after opening it up all the way in Sw/Sh.
While I’ve only voluntarily left games, I’d prefer not know if I was kicked. Since the game doesn’t have any communication method on Switch, I’d rather be led to believe that it was due to a bad network connection than be left trying to figure out how I offended the host.
@Vyacheslav333 I don’t believe that was implemented when the game first released. Though I do believe it’d be worth it for me to go back to play both again to compare them.
@lighteningbolt79 While it is possible to do well without using real money, it is discouraging to see where I’m missing out in my performance by not paying. I try not to think about it, but I do notice from time to time - especially when nearing the end of the weekly challenges and trying to max stars earned.
@Snatcher My comment is an homage to Advanced Wars being a finished game and delayed because of real world events affecting about 0.5% of the population while water scarcity affects 40% of the world’s population.
Are we sure it hasn’t been indefinitely delayed? It shares striking similarities to the ongoing climate crisis. Perhaps now isn’t the right time for a game about water creatures surviving in a drought struck region.
@Snatcher I actually enjoyed WT for about 6 months and occasionally go back to it for a quick fix. It’s just too much of a money grab though… The meta is too artificial and dependent on investing real money.
As nice as a new entry would be, the formula established in Mario Kart 8 is practically flawless. I’d rather they find a way to make it a live service like Overwatch and just release new content regularly going forward.
I enjoy open world games, but I don’t think bragging about how large the world is in Xenoblade Chronicles is the right approach. I remember getting from place to place in XC2 was a bit of a slog for some areas - in fact that’s the only reason I stopped playing. It felt like an MMO without other players to interact with.
I have a lot of respect for this approach as opposed to Atlus restricting and copyright claiming spoilers. This game wasn’t on my radar, but the good will from Bandai has me reconsidering.
@Tempestryke I don’t know why, but I always felt Tides of Time was easier than the original Echo. Now might be a good time for me to go back and play them again since my memory is foggy - I just remember the pixel art being gorgeous.
I was expecting this to be F2P. Any word on crossplay? While Bandai has a good track record of supporting their games long term, this looks like it may not have a large community.
I can’t wait. I love Warframe and still login frequently for my dailies. It’ll be nice to jump in from day one on this instead of joining late in the cycle.
Nintendo Directs are definitely one of my favorite gaming dates. I wish we had a bit more advanced notice on them though. They’re such an amazing experience that I love sharing with friends - popcorn parties!
@UltimateOtaku91 Bandai has a surprisingly good history in supporting their online games long after launch. I’d trust Bandai to keep the game running at least 4 years, which by that point most people will have moved on anyways.
@Muddy_4_Ever The new TMNT is such an amazing experience. Played through 6-player randoms online a few days ago and was thoroughly impressed at how it replicated the classic arcade game feel. Absolute chaos ensued. Even though no one could hear, I was still yelling at the screen like an arcade in the 90’s.
I’m pleasantly surprised. I anticipated this to be a self-gifted birthday present like the last two, it I will take a September release instead of December.
Kind of digging Launch Pad Zone, but Ice Cap… I guess I’m just bias toward the original. Never liked Carnival and don’t like the replacement. I guess all in all it’s break even for me.
@quinnyboy58 He’s a likable guy who was vocal during his time at Nintendo. My guess is he’s pushing to remain relevant so that he can re-enter the industry easily if he chooses to do so.
@Sam_TSM Soundrop is a music licensing company that will coordinate the entire process of licensing covers for online marketplaces and streaming. They have experience working with Nintendo.
Nintendo is 100% in the right. Licenses may be purchased through companies that specialize in licensing covers. Everyone should go the legitimate way when covering music.
Edit: There’s a company called Soundrop that specializes in licensing music from publishers, including Nintendo, for covers and remixes - and they’re not the only company that does this.
@mr12calvin I agree. Historically Nintendo has had their summer direct in the first half of the month. I anticipated a direct for June 15 based on previous leaks and the launch date to TMNT and a few other games.
@samuelvictor The DLC situation is exploitive and a test to see how much they can get away with for future games. $4 today turns a $60 game into $100 tomorrow.
Some of these look appealing, but there were way too many Stardew Valley clones. Most of them feature original elements like monster battling, but the core gameplay loop is the same. The real outliers here are those that avoided the farming and/or taming loop, and focused on being something different. I like the look of the witch delivery game. Another stand out for me was the Bread and Fred - it reminded me of a conversation I had with a friend about how to go about rebooting Ice Climbers for the modern generation.
Sonic Origins while it is a complete train wreck in terms of monetization is the first compilation and re-release of Sonic that I’m actually excited for.

This doesn’t look like a simple remaster… looks more like a complete rebuild.

Maybe this would work in China, but internet connections in the US are so spotty that this is a hard sell.

Saying good bye to the previous generation has been difficult. There are so many great titles on the 3DS and Wii U that haven’t been ported.

I’d forgive the social media team. They’re so focused on trying to pump out good quality content that they’re bound to flub once in a while.

Didn’t they just release the next hit NBA game?
