Project G:G may have been a reference to Astral China 2 with the G:G representing the linked aspects of the gameplay. There was a rumor floating last week on Reddit that its development was in complete disarray and may have been cancelled entirely.

It’s likely they expected a significant return on the most recent Dauntless update, but the community is in upheaval. It’s a real shame they didn’t do better as Monster Hunter could use some real competition in the hunting/crafting genre.

How does one differentiate between a leak, speculation, and investigative journalism?

@splinters Might I suggest looking at XR glasses. Most have a blackout cover or electrochromic dimming and use micro OLED displays to present the illusion of a large screen. Alex did a review of the Viture One a couple years ago, and they’ve come along way since then - those are significantly more affordable now, and there are newer versions with better tech as well.

I want Freedom Wars, but can’t decide between PS5 and Switch. I wish there was crossplay, I just don’t want to be in a situation where most of the player population is on one console or one console dies faster than the other.

Author seems biased against innovative technology. Gameplay speaks for itself… either you enjoy it or not. Clearly the game isn’t intended as a work of art.

I’m excited at the prospect of another manufacturer releasing a portable console, but I don’t think they can touch Nintendo. Nintendo’s exclusive titles are a key to their success. I’ll keep an eye out though and either will likely be a day one purchase if the game lineup looks good.

This is awesome. I wish we could get a Switch port of Palworld. It’s such a breath of fresh air in the monster catching genre.

I forgot this game was on Switch. Love a good co-op PvE game in the MonHun vein.

I love Monster Hunter, but involvement of TiMi is very concerning as they do not have a good history of supporting their games long term due to heavy focus on monetization.

Can someone just tell me the ending past ending? I’m spoiler friendly and Square Enix ruined the game for me by setting such high standards for streamers.

They really should’ve been more open with EOL plans for their mobile games from the get go. Dragalia Lost is the reason I stopped investing in any mobile Nintendo game, and while Pocket Camp is 7 years old their handling of other mobile games likely had an impact on their mobile sales.

Doesn’t bode well that they are withholding keys for the Switch version from reviewers.

That’s disappointing. I’ve gone in and out of phases with Pocket Camp and found it to be one of my favorite F2P mobile games over the years.

I might hop back on to see what’s new… I remember having fun with this and can’t remember why I stopped playing.

I enjoyed Engage more. The free roam area of Three Houses was nice, but it was far too large for my liking.

If this is true then it’s very exciting news. When I was younger Drift City was one of my favorite MMO games, which took a hybrid approach of drive and drop off quests and “ram the truck” challenges.

I don’t want to be a negative Ned, but I just do not like this trailer. The gameplay while shallow and kid friendly lacks imagination. “With over 10 customizable vehicles” is the least exciting description for a game backed by a company with 75 years of history in the die-cast car industry. As much as I believe Hot Wheels Unleashed deserves competition… this is not it. Unfortunately the $250k it cost to get this ad into the show will likely never justify the cost.

@rjejr By promoting it as a Summer Games Fest and spreading it out 4 months people are expecting huge announcements every week, but I don’t think most people hedge their expectations for each developer. I enjoyed how by knocking everything out in one week it just felt like a celebration of gaming. Like a non-gift giving highly commercialized Christmas for gamers.

@rjejr I’m pretty burned out of him in general. Summer Games Fest is an awful replacement for E3. Gaming news used to be consolidated to one week, now it’s spread across 4 months. I’d rather see all the news come out during a week that way I can prioritize what I care about instead of getting an hour presentation every couple weeks.

Wow! I’m surprised it took so long to receive an English translation. Though I suppose the target demographic likely had a role to play in that.

I loved this game and cannot wait for the sequel. Glad they decided to continue the franchise because it was everything I enjoy about classic Armored Core.

@Fizza Shows are only as good as their show writer and IP owners allow them to be. They also did the wildly acclaimed reboot of Carmen Sandiego, as well as handling the reboots of Johnny Test and Proud Family: Louder and Prouder (the latter of which are entirely dependent on the individual as to whether they were good or not).

I dunno, but this could surpass Midnight Suns in terms of quality… I wasn’t too excited at the initial announcement, but this is shaping up to look like an exciting addition to the turn based strategy genre.

Oh this is exciting! I wish it were for Java edition, I’d love to toss it on a server with Geyser to enable crossplay for the duration of the event, but that’s okay. Still love checking out these special event worlds.

This is such a missed opportunity for a PvE Monster Hunter clone.

I feel like gaming sites are not prepared to review games that are experiences first and games second, and the sweeping range of reviews here simply reinforces that.
