@samuelvictor The DLC situation is exploitive and a test to see how much they can get away with for future games. $4 today turns a $60 game into $100 tomorrow.

Some of these look appealing, but there were way too many Stardew Valley clones. Most of them feature original elements like monster battling, but the core gameplay loop is the same. The real outliers here are those that avoided the farming and/or taming loop, and focused on being something different. I like the look of the witch delivery game. Another stand out for me was the Bread and Fred - it reminded me of a conversation I had with a friend about how to go about rebooting Ice Climbers for the modern generation.

Sonic Origins while it is a complete train wreck in terms of monetization is the first compilation and re-release of Sonic that I’m actually excited for.

I’d guess the Switch logo is missing until the Nintendo Direct. Nintendo is notably absent from the Summer Games Festival, and the game premiered during a Nintendo Direct and was later confirmed for other consoles. Probably a licensing and promotion thing.

I look forward to June 16th as a day that shall define this year’s gaming expectations.

@Anti-Matter I would love a reboot of My Sims on the Switch. Bring back the multiplayer.

I’m all for the 1v100 approach, but the mini games need to be more fun.

I’ve gotten the Steelbook for the past 3 entries and will do my best to ensure I get the Steelbook for this as well. So I plan on getting both wherever I get a Steelbook.

@Anti-Matter I think it’s important to recognize one’s preferences. I applaud your recognition in that. I’m not so different as I tend to gravitate toward co-op games, and while not necessarily the same genre, my commitment is generally pretty solid. Every time I stray, I find myself with a game I rarely play.

It felt like the loading times were longer than the actual gameplay. I appreciate that it had crossplay and wish more games would do include it at launch.

I love playing with PUGs in MH games. The organized chaos is so exciting.

I’m so confused by their announcement that service is ending. This game doesn’t have any online services and is purely single player.

When I read traditional and multiplayer, I immediately reflected on how Final Fantasy V had multiplayer during combat. Glad this is Mana style traditional and not FFV.

The only reason I favor the SteamDeck is because this lacks the haptic pads. The haptic pads make a huge difference in controlling FPS and are the reason why I still consider the Steam Controller to be an amazing controller.

Where’s Dynasty Warriors 8? That tops 9 Empires by a large margin.

Magic portal, chibi heroes, and a youthful, diabolical laugh… Could Klarion, god of chaos, be the villain?

I’d guess they were aiming for a cloud version since the announcement.

I want a game featuring most of these creations, not an NFT.

While I don’t know how much I’ll use the feature since I mostly play online co-op, I love that they’re working to move the franchise forward with different gameplay elements.

@KateGray Thanks. Totally understand, I’ve watched it twice and don’t understand why they’re defining it as a PS5 edition. My guess is it’s in reference to the exclusive PS5 skins.

You should consider revising your description on the Xbox version. The Xbox One version is 1080p (30fps on S, 60fps on X), Series S is 2K, and Series X is 4K. Only half the Xbox versions are targeting 1080p.

A Shin Chan release with the Funimation cast would be amazing.

I see where this is going… Switch Sports Battle Royale - two or more people flail around a tiny screen while playing sports to be the last one standing, no holds bar.

@MaxiPareja It has a budget price in the US and Canada too. Same price the Wii Sports Resort had if I remember correctly.

So they found a way to cram another monetization method into the game… wonderful.

I’m surprised that Raven Shield still had online play since the older Rainbox Six titles relied on Gamespy.

Seeing all the Wii U games not on Switch hurts… my Wii U died late last month and I never had a chance to finish Xenoblade Chronicles X.

That looks nice, but I’ve been of the mindset that most people don’t sit close enough to their TVs to actually recognize the difference between 1080p and 4K unless you’re viewing on a 65 inch TV or similar oversized display.

@Eel It was brought over under a licensing agreement. They no longer have the license to the Story of Seasons series. The question would be if they have a perpetual license to all games in the Harvest Moon franchise or just the name Harvest Moon. If they have the franchise then absolutely, but I’m not sure. Were the Harvest Moon games ported to Wii U for the VC? That’d be the best litmus test we have, unfortunately I can’t check since my Wii U died a few days ago.

Huh… I have mixed feelings, but it makes sense that we don’t get Harvest Moon. Wish they could just relabel it Story of Seasons and call it a day.

@SteamEngenius Sometimes these displays are setup by a third party, typically through a mystery shop company. May want to figure out what company they’re using and try to grab the local mystery shop. This type of gig typically pays about $12.

I’m with Krysta. My favorite is surprisingly Triforce Heroes. I’m really disappointed that it didn’t connect with fans, but I understand why it wouldn’t be for everyone.

It’s the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

@Yanina If rumors are accurate then the DLC is being developed by Namco, though fair complaint.

This is a massive update. They totally changed the balance of races by decreasing item box times. There are so many times that I’ve been trailing someone from a distance and felt cheated that the item box hadn’t respawned yet.

This wasn’t on my radar until now.

@Silly_G I agree… I jumped all in on Rise, but cannot justify getting Sunbreak CE for a code. I wish they splurged a bit and released Rise with Sunbreak on a larger cartridge for the CE release.

I got to the third paragraph then realized it’s an Onion piece. I’m surprised people took it serious.

I wish it had the Turtles in Time remaster. I missed out on that on the Xbox 360 and have been regretting not buying it ever since.

I can’t decide if I’m surprised this is getting a Switch release or not. Seeing it in the State of Play had me convinced it’d be a PlayStation exclusive.

Worst time to publish. Been watching videos of it and it looks like a fun game despite the negative press.

As a child I loved the Final Fantasy Tactics games. While this seems to scratch the itch, I’m wondering if I’ve moved on from strategy games because the demo, while gorgeous, doesn’t catch my attention. It’s one of those games that I want to enjoy, but have a hard time connecting with.

C’mon Steel Pack bonus… I need to keep the collection going.

The Switch and Switch 2 should be a cross-compatible iterative platform similar to an iPad rather than a whole new console. I feel like market fragmentation in software isn’t the best idea moving forward, especially with both MS and Sony trying to be as backwards compatible as possible.

@Silly_G Nintendo will probably get it next year too thanks to Switch Sports or Strikers.
