Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake?

Sylamp

I finished DQ1 and now I'm going through DQ2, unlike DQ3 where my first exposure to it was the HD-2D remake I actually did play DQ 1 and 2 beforehand (via the Switch ports of the mobile versions) so I can better appreciate all the additions and QoL improvements these remakes add
DQ1 was fun and the new story beats are cool but I feel like the difficulty spike in the second half is a bit harsh and some spells should've been given to you a bit earlier than they are, still a good game though and it's my favorite version of the game by far
I'm pretty early into DQ2 but I'm enjoying it, I remember the later parts of the game (in the Switch port of the mobile version at least) being kinda annoying so hopefully the remake improves those parts

Re: Shujinkou Has Been Updated On Switch, Here Are The Patch Notes

@AmplifyMJ I remember reading something about how the situation is similar to the Switch 1 where indie devs also had trouble getting the dev kits for 6-7 months after launch, and that currently Nintendo is mainly giving Switch 2 dev kits to indie studios that need the extra power of Switch 2

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (25th October)

I finished Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake a few days ago (great game, loved my time with it) so now I'm playing Ninja Gaiden Ragebound and I'm having a blast, I think I'm pretty close to finishing it so after that I'll probably start SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance so I can knock out both of the ninja action platformers from this year off my backlog
I also been playing a bit of Powerwash Simulator 2 and it's just as fun and chill as the first game
I also want to try out Angry Video Game Nerd 8-bit, normally I wouldn't care about another AVGN game because I didn't really like AVGN Adventures 1 and 2 but this one was worked on by Programancer, the dev of Prison City, which is a fantastic game so anything he worked on immediately gets my attention

Re: Nintendo Direct Announced For Friday, 12th September 2025

Can't wait for them to not celebrate Mario's 40th anniversary in any major way and for people to be disappointed even though Nintendo historically don't care about anniversaries as much as people think they do
And before anyone says "BUT THE 35TH ANNIVERSARY IN 2020 THOUGH!!!!" that was more of a freak occurrence because they didn't have much else going on that year so they had to do something, and two of the major announcements there (Mario 35 and 3D All-Stars) were games that I'd be surprised if they took more than a couple of months to put together (especially 3D All-Stars with how half-baked it was), and 3D World + Bowser's Fury announcement just felt like it happened to line up with the anniversary rather than Nintendo planning for it
