Re: Fantasy Life i's Success Due To Changes Made Just A Year Before Launch

Sylamp

ok so it seems the key to your game's success is this:

  • buy Keiji Inafune's company
  • turn it into a subsidiary
  • put them to work on a game
  • dissolve the subsidiary because in 8 years you had them they haven't produced anything aside from a mobile game that was around for only 5 months
  • remake the game they were working on because it wasn't good enough
  • release the game

seems simple enough

Re: Fans Reckon Nintendo Has "Killed" Mario Kart World With Its Latest Update

@BlaizeV "There are rumours that internally Nintendo don't consider this game Mario Kart 9" that's dumb as hell and quickly disproven if you bother to read the Ask the Developer article about the game, there they said that if the game was just a standard Mario Kart game with no open world aspect then they would've just called it Mario Kart 9, nowhere do they say that the open world aspect turned it into a spinoff

apparently the stutters might be an issue with the video capture, their Mario Kart World gameplay video also has some stutters and I haven't heard anyone complain about stuttering in that game when they played it at preview events, not saying that it's 100% an issue with the video itself but I'm reserving full judgment until I try these out on Switch 2 myself
and even if these stutters in the video are also in the game they don't look like that big of a deal to me, I can live with just these stutters

Finishing off Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo, super fun game, I highly recommend it
After that I'll go back and finish Dark Souls 2 on my PC, I started it a week ago and then took a break from it not just to play Pipistrello but also because it started to really annoy me but I want to get it done just so I don't have to play it again

Cheep Cheep Lagoon and Bone Dry Dunes in standout tracks 💀
7 is a weird one, it's a good game but it doesn't have anything that makes it stand out compared to other games in the series, 8 took everything that 7 introduced and improved upon all of it so aside from some tracks that haven't been remade yet there is not much of a reason to play it anymore (unless you like the first person mode with gyro controls for some reason)
8 Deluxe is my favorite Mario Kart, I know it's a boring pick but I really do think it's best of the series, I think it controls the best and has a lot of fantastic tracks, Mount Wario and Big Blue being particular standouts

@mariomaster96 the most exciting thing about the soundtrack for free roam mode is that they aren't limiting themselves to just other Mario Kart songs or mainline Mario games, there are several remixes from Yoshi games, there is a Wario Land 1 remix and some people say they've heard a WarioWare remix, this soundtrack is gonna be crazy

Re: Shigeru Miyamoto Explains Why Donkey Kong Has Been Redesigned

Personally I never liked the old DK design and I think my issue with it is that while I don't think he wasn't expressive I always felt that it looked odd whenever they were trying to give him a different expression other than angry because his eyebrows were just different degrees of furrowed, rarely (if ever) changing that much, I like the new one way more
Also I've yet to hear an argument (good or bad) about why this new design is bad that doesn't just translate to "I hate change", it's fine if you prefer the old one but acting like this new one is objectively bad is pretty stupid

I definitely agree that Double Dash is the most unique game in the series and it's a lot of fun in multiplayer but trying to unlock everything in single-player is really frustrating and I'm not looking forward to having to do that again when the game comes to NSO sometime in the future, plus the track selection could be better, there are some great ones but most of them are just kind of ok and not much more
DS introduced a lot to the series, having online for the first time was huge and retro tracks were a great addition (even though the selection in this game really sucks for the most part), probably my second favorite game in the series
Wii has some of the best tracks in the series but the item balance is a bit much at times and that physics engine feels like it's being held together by spit and hope, plus it's pretty ugly tbh even by Wii's standards, still a good game though
