Shame there is no Hudson Soft rep but oh well, I still have a bunch of other Picross games I need to get through so I'm gonna skip this for now but I'll get to it at some point I also wonder if they'll patch the previous games with mouse mode, probably not but it would be nice
@Fereal @lovesushi it's only available in the US right now for some reason, and it doesn't work like Switch 2 editions do where you download an upgrade pack, in this case you just get a 100% discount for the Switch 2 version
Are there any Switch 1 games that run at 60 FPS docked but 30 FPS handheld? I think there are some but I forget which ones Anyway, I only tried DKC Tropical Freeze and Metroid Dread and they look much better in handheld now, Dread is capped at 900p sadly but that's still better than it used to be
I only have one dungeon left and honestly I'm probably gonna jump right into another playthrough on harder difficulty level after I finish my first one, this game is so fun
That's awesome to hear, I really loved the demo and I can't wait to play the full game, this is the most I've been excited for a new Capcom game that isn't Mega Man in a loooooong time
I still don't get how X & Y got such high ratings, those games are so incredibly boring to me
@UltimateOtaku91 they liked that version's legendary mon more
but being serious it's some weirdness with how Metacritic assigns reviews to a given game, they probably assigned one review to only Y or only X and that made a difference in score
the original version of Mario Vs DK is a nice novelty but honestly if you want to play that game just play the remake, the only thing the original does better are the funny voice lines, otherwise the remake does everything else better, ESPECIALLY the controls
I saw a few people say that it runs at 120 FPS in handheld mode but I don't know how to verify that so I'm just gonna assume it's not true Does it even run at 120 FPS on PS5 or Xbox Series w/e?
UGH, I hate that the Switch 1 save data is not compatible, I JUST completed all decks on gold stake difficulty so now I have to do it all over again, which means playing black deck again, and I HATE black deck on gold stake difficulty
I will not stand for the Darkwing Duck slander, that game slaps and personally I enjoy it a lot more than Mega Man 2 or 3 (but I'm also a person who thinks Mega Man 2 is kinda bad and 3 is a mixed bag but that's a whole different discussion)
@N64-ROX there is no typing commands in this game, and on PC it has full controller support and from what I've heard it plays pretty well that way so the controls on Switch should be completely fine
@roy130390 It wasn't outright said that this is the last update but when the previous update dropped the developer said that they have 4 more characters coming, so it was kinda implied that they're done with the updates after these characters drop But I'm with you, I hope they add more stages, heck I'd be willing to pay for them given how much they added to the game for free
yeah I knew that if Pokemon Company wanted to rerelease these games this is how they would do it, anyone that expected them to just drop these on NSO is a fool
How hard it is to learn the mechanics in these games? I've always been curious about this series but whenever I see gameplay of them they just seem so overwhelming, but I still want to at least try one of them out so I want to know if the games just throw most of the mechanics at you at once and you just have to figure it out yourself and read tutorials online? Or are there some in-game tutorials that teach you all that stuff?
9/10 for me, probably my favorite Mario Tennis game
Gameplay-wise it feels a lot better than Aces to me, that game just felt overbearing with it's mechanics and it felt like I had to spent a lot of time before I could get comfortable with them
Fever is a lot easier to pick up and play but still has a lot of depth and strategy with the Fever Rackets
And content-wise I think it's easily the best home console entry, yeah the Adventure mode is not great but all of the side modes are really fun
Trial Towers deserve a special mention because there are two things that I haven't seen any review mention, one is that they pick from a list of 100 missions and arrange them in different order each time (aside from the last missions in each tower, those are always the same), which adds replayability
And the second thing is that after you beat all 3 towers you unlock the All Trials mode, which lets you play all of the 100 missions individually, and they all have a 3-star ranking system
That's a pretty sizeable chunk of single-player content, especially for a arcade sports game, so I don't know why no review has mentioned it
I think my only complaint is the court variety, I wish there were a few more wackier ones like Waluigi's Pinball Arcade or Wonder Court
But that's my overall thoughts, great game
I personally don't mind that this version has new music, I get why this is a dealbreaker for some but if the choice is between having the game without the original soundtrack or not having the game at all I would always pick the former (it's the same reason why I don't hate Sonic Origins), my problem is the shoddy implementation
In many cases if you listen closely you can still hear the original music playing underneath the new music, and in the case of the Atari Jaguar version you don't have to listen closely at all, the original music is very clearly audible under the new music and it predictably sounds like a mess, so I want them to at least fix that
I wonder how they reduced the file size from 5.8 GB to just 1.4, I know that cutting down on file redundancy does make a difference but cutting it down to nearly a third has to be something more than that
@Max_the_German if they do a physical version now before all the planned content updates are out then you'll be complaining how it's not complete on the cart
WOKE IS BACK ON THE MENU BAYBEEEE!!! But fr, given the current state of things I thought Nintendo would chicken out and not include gay romance options but not only they did include them but also added nonbinary gender option, which is great to see
@Johnny_Arthur I don't know where you heard that this game was cancelled but that's not true Final Formation is a different game and it's a part of a "Final" trilogy of Jaleco sci-fi revivals, it's a second game in that trilogy, the first one was Final Exerion which released in 2023 Now you may be asking "Why did City Connection commission Happymeal to make another Formation game when they had this one in development?", and I don't have an answer, City Connection does odd things sometimes
So does this one feel more "arcadey"? I'm asking because I tried GRID Autosport and while that was also a simcade it leaned more towards a sim-style (to me at least) and I didn't like that at all, I much prefer racing games that lean more towards the arcade-style

Re: Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream 'Welcome Version' Bug Causes Demo To Crash
it's not a bug but one weird thing I noticed in the demo is that the bungee jump dream is capped at 20 FPS, it's very weird
Re: Surprise! Tomodachi Life 'Welcome Version' Demo Is Live Now On The Switch eShop
@squiddu-real how is that strange? the game doesn't require touch controls so why should it not work with handheld boost?

@Ryoma no, Hyrule Warriors DE was also targeting 60 in handheld, it just never came close and always hovered around 30 FPS
