I wonder how they reduced the file size from 5.8 GB to just 1.4, I know that cutting down on file redundancy does make a difference but cutting it down to nearly a third has to be something more than that

Final Formation is a different game and it's a part of a "Final" trilogy of Jaleco sci-fi revivals, it's a second game in that trilogy, the first one was Final Exerion which released in 2023
Now you may be asking "Why did City Connection commission Happymeal to make another Formation game when they had this one in development?", and I don't have an answer, City Connection does odd things sometimes

Switch 1 and 2 listings popped up on the JP eshop so it's pretty much confirmed, 2 extra games are included, Goof Troop and Bonkers

So does this one feel more "arcadey"? I'm asking because I tried GRID Autosport and while that was also a simcade it leaned more towards a sim-style (to me at least) and I didn't like that at all, I much prefer racing games that lean more towards the arcade-style

@ParrakerriRush The music for Faces of Evil and Wand of Gamelon doesn't really fit a Zelda game (but tbf those games don't feel like Zelda so it's probably fitting that the music doesn't either) but for what they are they're pretty solid soundtracks
Also I just remembered that Zelda's Adventure exists, that's probably the most forgettable of the Cd-i trio of Zelda games, that one has music that I would say is worse than Phantom Hourglass so maybe ignore that one

@ParrakerriRush Link's Crossbow Training is mostly just slight rearrangements of songs from Twilight Princess so that wouldn't be too bad
And the CD-i Zelda games have good music, it's like the only good thing about those games

why did it take almost 9 years for a collection of games that were originally made for a Nintendo console to release on Switch?

@waluigilives I didn't say all of her stuff sounds the same, just the stuff that she made in the last 10 years, and even if I didn't think that there also another problem I have and that's she just hasn't made a soundtrack I really liked since Mario & Luigi Dream Team (and I mean an original soundtrack, new arrangements for remakes don't count) and I don't have faith that would change if she worked on this game

Both the game and the soundtrack are very underrated and overhated imo so I'm happy with this
And honestly I'm ok with this game having a new composer, I love Yoko Shimomura's stuff but a lot of her soundtracks have become very samey over the last 10 years, most of what she does just sounds like Kingdom Hearts music and/or overuses violins, and you can even hear it in Paper Jam
So I'd rather them get a new composer than have Shimomura make a Kingdom Hearts soundtrack with a slight Mario & Luigi sheen, and imo Brothership's soundtrack is far from the weakest in this series, I would give that dubious honor to either Partners In Time or Paper Jam

the PEGI rating was not for a Switch 2 Edition, it was just PEGI catching up and rating that free Switch 2 update that was released in June, just like how Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening got rated for Switch 2 when they got the free updates

I started The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, I didn't care much about Oracle of Seasons but I'm hoping I'll like this one more, I've beaten 2 dungeons and so far it's alright

PEGI has Switch 2 ratings for every Switch 1 game that got a free Switch 2 upgrade, Splatoon 3 got one earlier this year
They forgot to set a date beyond the year so it defaulted to the last day of the year

One of my favorite games from this year that I think qualifies as a hidden gem is Windswept
It's a 2D platformer heavily inspired by the SNES DKC games (DKC 2 in particular) but with a lot of it's own flair, the movement especially is way beyond anything in those game
It gets pretty challenging, especially if you want to go for 100%, but it's never unfair
Highly recommend it if you like the DKC games

@topher6490 Patapon 3 is very different from 1 and 2 as it's heavily based around multiplayer, it's fine solo but far from ideal, and given how they didn't add online multiplayer for the Paragates in Patapon 2 (even though it would make total sense) I can't imagine they would be able to implement it for a game that heavily relies on it to be fully enjoyable

@Sirko Switch 2 currently doesn't have VRR in docked mode

@FantasiaWHT this isn't an upgraded port of the 1994 version, it's rebuilt from scratch and shares none of the code or assets with the 1994 version

@CurryPowderKeg79 that wasn't a Switch 2 Edition, you just got a discount for the Switch 2 version and that's why it only worked for the digital version, but in this case you can just download the upgrade pack and it will work with the physical version, every game that has Switch 2 Edition branding works like that

I really didn't like the game when I first tried it but I decided to give it another shot with this Switch 2 Edition and it grew on me quite a bit, I still like it the least out of the 3 cartoon-y racing games that came out this year (yes I like Mario Kart World much more, sue me) but it's a solid game and it may grow on me more as I play it, All-Stars Racing Transformed is still way better, that's a high bar that Sega will probably never clear unfortunately
60 FPS does help a lot, I'm not super picky when it comes to frame rate (with some exceptions) but this game didn't feel good at 30 FPS even when it was stable

@JaxonH only System Shock 2 remaster is on Switch, and System Shock 2 remake is just a rumor at the moment, nothing has been confirmed or even hinted at

this already runs at 60 FPS on Switch 2 so the only upgrade is the visuals, which is still great because the game is kinda blurry, even on Switch 1 in handheld it was kinda blurry

@Nep-Nep-Freak that's not really a good comparison because if Mario Kart World was never moved to Switch 2 then we would never get DLC for 8 Deluxe, better comparison would be the Wii U version of 8, which got DLC about 6 months after it released
Not saying that DLC for World is happening soon but it's not as unlikely as you say it is

I bought the upgrade pack and I didn't get the Werehog DLC, is it only available for people who buy the whole Switch 2 Edition and not just the upgrade pack? If so then that's really stupid

I'm reading all these cons and thinking "yup, it's a follow up to TMNT Shredder's Revenge alright", these are all issues I had with Shredder's Revenge, none of them stopped me from really enjoying it (although I still would play SoR4, Fight'N Rage and Double Dragon Gaiden over it any day) but it is disappointing that this game didn't address any of that
But I still really liked that game and I'm sure I like this one as well, I just don't expect it to beat out Absolum for me

Probably my least favorite game in the series tbh, even more so than Paper Jam, I just find it so boring

I want to finish DQ2 in the Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake, and I also want to play Neon Inferno and finally play the full version of Absolum (I played the Steam demo and loved it, plus Streets of Rage 4 is my favorite beat'em up of all time so a new beat'em up from Guard Crush is a no-brainer for me) but realistically what's probably gonna happen is I'll just keep playing more of Kirby Air Riders

I got it pre-loaded as soon as I could, I had a blast with the Global Test and can't wait for the full game

the official twitter account for the game posted that this weekend will have different riders and machines available

For the record, this isn't me saying that you can't dislike the fact that a bunch of the upgrades they released are paid but saying that they didn't do any upgrades for free is just plainly wrong

Well, turns out I was wrong, I was fully expecting Rockstar to make people pay the full price again like they did with GTA V on PS5 and Xbox Series w/e but I'm glad that's not the case

I would say that I hope for an upgrade path if you already own the Switch 1 version but given how Rockstar didn't offer an upgrade path for GTA V on PS5 I don't think they'll do that for RDR

I played this game when it was in Early Access on Steam and it was really fun, I prefer playing roguelikes on a handheld though so I'm happy it''s finally coming to Switch 2 (that's the version I'll be playing) and Switch

I don't get why people are saying that this should be included in the Switch 2 release, the game will be barely a year old when it launches on Switch 2 and if people on other platforms have to pay for this DLC then I don't see why Nintendo players should get it for free
