oh yeah I found that vehicle when I was driving around in Free Roam mode, I followed it for a bit to get the coins but I got bored quickly, I'd rather just get the coins through Grand Prix cups or finding those coin stacks in Free Roam even if it might take a bit longer to unlock every kart
@Zeebor15 it's 100% a separate thing, in the video they announced a free update for Splatoon 3 on Switch 2 that improves visuals and frame rate so that pretty much deconfirms Switch 2 Edition
I've mainly been just testing a bunch of Switch 1 games on Switch 2 but I did play about 3 hours of Mario Kart World and it's really fun, also played a little bit of Fast Fusion but I need to put more time into it to have an opinion on it
apparently the stutters might be an issue with the video capture, their Mario Kart World gameplay video also has some stutters and I haven't heard anyone complain about stuttering in that game when they played it at preview events, not saying that it's 100% an issue with the video itself but I'm reserving full judgment until I try these out on Switch 2 myself
and even if these stutters in the video are also in the game they don't look like that big of a deal to me, I can live with just these stutters
Finishing off Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo, super fun game, I highly recommend it After that I'll go back and finish Dark Souls 2 on my PC, I started it a week ago and then took a break from it not just to play Pipistrello but also because it started to really annoy me but I want to get it done just so I don't have to play it again
oh cool, I won't have to wait long until I can continue my playthrough, but that also means it'll be even tougher to decide what I want to play on launch of Switch 2
it would be pretty weird (but also very Nintendo) to have a direct only a few days before the launch of Switch 2, a direct after the launch makes more sense to me
I played a few hours of the Switch version and it ran fine enough but I'll wait for the Switch 2 upgrade before putting more time into it, what I did play was really fun so I'm looking forward to playing more of it
Cheep Cheep Lagoon and Bone Dry Dunes in standout tracks 💀 7 is a weird one, it's a good game but it doesn't have anything that makes it stand out compared to other games in the series, 8 took everything that 7 introduced and improved upon all of it so aside from some tracks that haven't been remade yet there is not much of a reason to play it anymore (unless you like the first person mode with gyro controls for some reason) 8 Deluxe is my favorite Mario Kart, I know it's a boring pick but I really do think it's best of the series, I think it controls the best and has a lot of fantastic tracks, Mount Wario and Big Blue being particular standouts
@mariomaster96 the most exciting thing about the soundtrack for free roam mode is that they aren't limiting themselves to just other Mario Kart songs or mainline Mario games, there are several remixes from Yoshi games, there is a Wario Land 1 remix and some people say they've heard a WarioWare remix, this soundtrack is gonna be crazy
It's nice to get a title screen that isn't just a static image That Sherbet Land arrangement that plays during the ring mission sounds really nice, I can't wait to hear all the other arrangements that are in the free roam mode
@Rukasumi we don't know if it's locked 1440p in that mode, the developer didn't provide any description of each mode and why would you choose one over the other so I'm just trying to guess here
@Rukasumi it most likely means dynamic resolution that will be hanging in between 1080p and 4K, if the tracks visuals are a bit simpler it will be closer to 4K but they are more complex and/or if there are a lot of effects on screen then it will be closer to 1080p
Personally I never liked the old DK design and I think my issue with it is that while I don't think he wasn't expressive I always felt that it looked odd whenever they were trying to give him a different expression other than angry because his eyebrows were just different degrees of furrowed, rarely (if ever) changing that much, I like the new one way more Also I've yet to hear an argument (good or bad) about why this new design is bad that doesn't just translate to "I hate change", it's fine if you prefer the old one but acting like this new one is objectively bad is pretty stupid
I'm not really surprised, they said the development started last year so they only had so much time to get the game ready for launch, I'm still excited and definitely picking it up day 1
I definitely agree that Double Dash is the most unique game in the series and it's a lot of fun in multiplayer but trying to unlock everything in single-player is really frustrating and I'm not looking forward to having to do that again when the game comes to NSO sometime in the future, plus the track selection could be better, there are some great ones but most of them are just kind of ok and not much more DS introduced a lot to the series, having online for the first time was huge and retro tracks were a great addition (even though the selection in this game really sucks for the most part), probably my second favorite game in the series Wii has some of the best tracks in the series but the item balance is a bit much at times and that physics engine feels like it's being held together by spit and hope, plus it's pretty ugly tbh even by Wii's standards, still a good game though
@Koda1000 in a developer interview when they were talking about backwards compatibility with Switch 1 games they said that certain games ran better on Switch 2 and by "certain" I'm sure they're talking about games that had frame rate issues and/or used dynamic resolution so those will most likely just hit their caps consistently, and in the direct they showed Yoshi's Crafted World loading twice as fast on Switch 2 vs Switch 1 and that game isn't getting any sort of upgrade so that just confirms that all Switch 1 games will load faster on Switch 2 These updates just seem like they're boosting resolution and frame rate beyond the caps these games had, they're saying that ARMS will run smoother "even when playing with 3 or more players" so that to me says that it won't drop to 30 FPS anymore no matter the number of players in split-screen multiplayer
dang it, I was hoping Captain Toad would get mouse controls, it would make playing in docked mode better because you wouldn't have to deal with gyro cursor drifting and having to reset it every 5 minutes
also it's weird that NSMBU is not getting GameShare support, I thought that's what this update was gonna add but it's just getting visual upgrade which it doesn't need nor does it help with how ugly NSMB artstyle is
it's my primary game system so I'm still playing it but I'm trying to avoid any big game purchases and just sticking to the games I already have for it, the only game coming out soon that I want to pick up is Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo which I played the demo of and really liked so that will be my final game for Switch 1
@robotreptile it will load faster on Switch 2 regardless, in the direct they showed Yoshi's Crafted World loading twice as fast on Switch 2 compared to Switch 1 and that game isn't getting a Switch 2 Edition or even a free update
I haven't played this game (or any Pikmin game for that matter) but some of my friends who did say that they were teasing some sort of snowy area in the marketing and then the game didn't have it so maybe that could be added for the Switch 2 Edition I do think there will be more Switch 2 Editions later on and Pikmin 4 is a good candidate for that, Mario Maker 2 I'm not sure, I think Mario Maker 3 is a lot more likely
I really, really hate Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart 64, yeah yeah "they're the first few games in the series, they were trying things out and deserve some respect" yada yada, I've heard many times before and quite frankly I don't care These games just do not hold up at all, they both control terribly, the collision and physics are jank as hell and most of the tracks are not good, the N64 Rainbow Road deserves a special mention for being quite possibly the most boring track in the series It is so long with only two Chain Chomps to keep you from falling asleep and the whole track has guardrails so there is no challenge in it which is pathetic for the last track of the game and for a track archetype that is known for being difficult, the only thing that are good about it are the visuals and the music but those can't save it, thank god for the Mario Kart 8 remake making something good out of it because the original is quite easily the worst Rainbow Road imo It might be a hot take but Super Circuit is the most bearable of these 3, while I don't like it all that much I think it controls better than SMK, they toned down the CPU cheating (another reason SMK and 64 are so miserable to play) and it has some fun and original track ideas
@Zeebor15 Jeff was a boss in the arcade version of the first Double Dragon in the second level, Abore was a boss in the arcade version of Double Dragon 2 in the second level, he also was a regular enemy in later levels of that game
@RudyC3 "...if it's not gonna cost you anything, why do you have to ask if you should do it, just do it!" That's assuming that they're not going to do just do it anyway and this is just a way to drum up attention, plus I'd like to think that they know that people wouldn't like it if they charged for something that was free for PlayStation and Xbox users "And by the way PS5 upgrades of PS4 games were not always free. " Yeah but I'm not talking about them in general, I'm talking about this game specifically
oh that's awesome, really liked what I've played of this one but it's been a bit since I've played it, I'm very interested in going back to play this some more once this update and DLC drop on Switch

Re: Splatoon 3 To Get Free Switch 2 Update Later This Week
@MoldyPasta no because then Switch 1 players would be at a disadvantage, since they're matched together with Switch 2 players
Re: Splatoon Raiders, A New Splatoon Spin-Off, Is Confirmed For Switch 2
@Zeebor15 Splatoon Raiders will definitely have a release on a cartridge, Nintendo already said all of their Switch 2 games will be on a cart

Cheep Cheep Lagoon and Bone Dry Dunes in standout tracks 💀
7 is a weird one, it's a good game but it doesn't have anything that makes it stand out compared to other games in the series, 8 took everything that 7 introduced and improved upon all of it so aside from some tracks that haven't been remade yet there is not much of a reason to play it anymore (unless you like the first person mode with gyro controls for some reason)
8 Deluxe is my favorite Mario Kart, I know it's a boring pick but I really do think it's best of the series, I think it controls the best and has a lot of fantastic tracks, Mount Wario and Big Blue being particular standouts
Re: Video: Here's A Sneak Peek Of Mario Kart World's Start Screen
@Suketoudara I hope so, no one at the preview events heard any but with over 200 songs there's gotta be at least a few
