Their previous game Craftopia which they talk about expanding upon for Palworld they never actually completed yet you can still buy to this day and would you be surprised it's art style is trying to be BotW and whatever store bought assets they could get their hands on. Between their lack of original ideas, crypto cons, AI usage to hide their uninspired art, asset flip work, and just all around bad developer practices it only pin points how much hatred of Nintendo can fuel a fan boys to prop up these bad developers.
Kit and Krysta went from a fun duo that I was happy they could continue on after their time at NOA but since I've found their actual content and insights to be not very insightful. They are just podcast bros using click baiting titles as if they are still working at Nintendo to generate views and should really not be the source for multiple articles like they have been.
I've put about 50 hours into the early access on Steam and it is truly a great game already. With the last update I think it's just completing the story and tweaking abilities because everything else is fully featured. I hope they'll have the feature where you can cross save so I can take my Steam version to my Switch 2. That's how I was able to 100% the first game.
@rallydefault what you missed is the fanboys were still mad about the second and third being Nintendo exclusives, the third one taking too long from announcement with barely any communication from the usually chatty Kamiya, and then the final nail in the coffin of fanboy opinion was that just before release the original Bayo voice actress came out saying she was being 'pushed out' which turned out she was lying the whole time about what Platinum was offering her and she thought she should get paid like she was in a Marvel movie. I was surprised people didn't first question her when she made the absurd claim that the Bayo franchise has made over a billion dollars in profit. Then the hate had to go somewhere since the fanboys made up their mind that they hated it and the ending and 'passing of the torch' was perfect for fanboy outrage.
@Bluelink45 DLSS looks great in most cases and I would doubt most people could even tell the difference. As long as they're starting from a native 1080p then DLSS upscaling to 4K is perfectly fine. What you've probably seen is FSR and PSSR that have lots of issues such as ghosting, flickering, extremely blurry in motion, among other image instability issues.
If it is anything like the first game it's a bad game to start to revisit for Kamiya. Okami and Godhand are what sunk the first Clover studio. Making interesting games didn't translate to making games that sold well or even played well. Hopefully there is a producer that can rein him in this time, but that is also why he left Platinum.
I'm a few hours in and feeling a solid 8 or 9. Love the echo system but menus and some of the powers feel a little clunky. Nothing stopping me from enjoying the game, but it does take some getting used to.
For me personally no that wouldn't be too much. For the average consumer that might be too much. Think the $350-400 would be good for most people. $300 would guarantee high sells, but I know Nintendo never sells hardware at a loss.
This was a much better expansion from the first one. Expanded on everything in the base game and gave a reason to revisit all location for new aberrations. Already 100%ed it again but took about 5 hours or so compared to the first expansion that barely took an hour to do.
The Markus expansion sounds like the best of the lot. For the others will be nice to see if they build out more towns and areas around those areas since they were pretty limited in the base game.
The base game felt more Suikoden than Suikoden 2 in how basic the mechanics felt and politics played out, while trying to have the larger scope of 2's larger regional war. Hopefully if they make a sequel they can refine everything and get a little more in depth on the states that are in the game.
Almost finished with it on PC and if you were into Suikoden it definitely delivers. If they do a sequel I can see a few things to improve but otherwise it is a solid JPRG with the smaller scale political story.
$40-50 seems more responsible, but I also wasn't planning on getting it since I had it on Wii and personally think Tropical Freeze was just all around better. Still a great game but not worth the double dip for me.
As you have said it has been 5 years since Retro took over. We don't know if any of the pre-production or anything transferred over if not then it is on a totally normal game life cycle. I know people are waiting on the game but just let them make it if they're devoting the time and budget to it then that is for the better. Took use forever to get Dread and that was absolutely amazing. Best to just forget it and pick it back up when they actually announce something.
@TheBitBandit First I would have to say none of these sound major. Can confirm in my few hours of play (likely close to the end) it's been pretty bug free (just minor things like animation bugs or funky collusion. Have far more notes about the janky movement and camera. Secondly they're a small indie team of 6 people I think you have to give them a break that they don't have the resources to have a huge QA department and time. Third that is the nature of bugs. Sometimes you can experience them sometimes you don't. Sometimes they only happen under very specific conditions or on specific hardware configurations. Some are more cosmetic or minor that now they have time to fix them.
Honestly makes me miss Miiverse. One of the best parts of the Wii U. Truly one of the only Social Medias I liked and it was generally positive and supportive.
As it is just a turn based RPG there is no real reason to be upset about it. Yes it would be better at 60fps but I would rather it be a solid 30fps than an uneven, unstable 60fps. Hopefully on the Super Switch it will be updated to 60fps.
Really wish there was just added as DLC for the Nintendo release. Since it isn't and I can't take my 100% save over then I'll get it on PC eventually but will have to wait for like 50+% sale to justify buying the game again.
Fanboys are being radicalized and it is a bigger issue than people even realize. No one should be that devoted or zealous of any video game. I know a lot of people make light of 'toxic' internet communities, but that behavior expands beyond the internet and imbeds in people's thoughts.
Played the backer beta for a bit and was pretty good for the limited time I put into it. The story already had some good regional political intrigue. Looking forward to the full release.
Other than Nintendo games I don't think I've bought any other game at full price in the past decade. But with the success of some mid tier games with mid tier prices might show some companies that you can lower the price but make up for it with quantity. But Developers and Publishers need to stop thinking they're going to be GTA or Fortnite otherwise it is a failure.
In the header you have it as NeiR's developer when it should be producer. I thought maybe that meant Platinum was going to take over Dragon Quest and was pretty excited.
@Thomystic this isn't the gaming equivalent of shrinkflation. The real gaming equivalent of skrinflation is Persona 3 Reloaded, remastering but removing features and now selling back one of those features for an extra $35.
Just don't make money off of it or promote piracy directly and you're within the legal parameters. The current gen emulators are really a no go. We can also say that there is clearly a gap in the market and if developers of these old games can sort out the licensing issues and rerelease retro games on current systems or PC for easy access I think that would cut down hugely on piracy.
Warner Brothers management proving they're determined to destroy Warner Brothers while making their executives and shareholders a couple more dollars for a few years before it all goes bust.
Been having fun with it. Beat the first 30 level tower on my second try. Going through and going to 100% it, like I have everything Splatoon. All and all think it has been fun and worth the money and as a Splatoon 2 fan it was great to 'get the band back together'. Also for even the seasoned player there are some combinations of levels and danger modes can make even really 'broken' builds a decent challenge.
Could see Nintendo even expanding this into a stand alone game. Also would love to see if they could integrate some of these abilities into the base game.
Played on Gamepass and was just too slow and hand holding even for a city builder. It was a rare miss. Within an hour of playing I didn't feel compelled to play anymore and felt it was going to flop. How do these companies not understand when something just isn't fun?
If this isn't DLC that's a pretty petty move by Atlus. If it is a full purchase again I might as well get it on PC when it is like $5 a month after release.
RIP. The Suikoden series was always the best RPG out there and still to this day has some of the best writing in all of gaming. At least he got to see the huge fan reaction to Eiyuden Chronicle and know that we were all looking forward to his newest creation.
Who would have know that a merger wasn't going to be good for the developers and consumers???... Oh yeah anyone with the most basic business knowledge, but our courts allowed it to go through because in the end it's going to make the rich richer and screw everyone else.

@anoyonmus the Nioh series is not a playstation exclusive. Would run perfectly fine on the Switch 2 leaked specs.
