Re: Review: NES Remix (Wii U eShop)

Watched a couple Lets Plays and got too excited had to buy it. Definitely a great surprise on the Direct today (which was filled with an unusual amount of surprises). Already had a couple challenges that I was just about ready to throw the Gamepad at something cause I couldn't land that 'jump' quite right or couldn't get the rainbow stars. Also got to love those stamps. Wish they would allow them to be used in general chat as a semi-useful achievement.

Re: Rune Factory Developer Neverland Closes Its Doors

Been into Rune Factory since the original and gotten almost everyone of them for the DS and Wii. I was actually going to go get Rune Factory 4 today. Also I was really hoping for one on the Wii U eventually. Maybe Nintendo or some other studio could buy the IP and produce something equally as good.

Re: Talking Point: The GamePad and its Role Defining the Wii U

I think the Gamepad is what made me have to get the Wii U. I already have a PC more powerful than a PS4 so multi-platform games were never a concern of mine, but the Gamepad gave me a different experience that I couldn't get on my PC. I grew up on Nintendo games (and Sega too), but the different gaming experiences in what has brought me back to Nintendo consoles/handhelds in recent years.

Re: Happy Birthday, Wii U - You're One Today

I got my Zombi U Bundle and felt it was a really good investment. Have Super Mario U (+ Luigi U), Zombi U, Pikmin 3, Monster Hunter Ultimate, Lego City, NintendoLand (which is extremely underrated), Art Academy, Wind Waker HD, Just Dance 4, Resident Evil Revelations, Wii Sports Club, among a ton of VC and indie titles. I don't know why people say there aren't games I have so many I haven't even been halfway through one before the next one I want comes out. This tradition continues with SM3DW. Can't wait for Friday.

strange cause I've played several online matches and I've only come across maybe 2 laggy opponents at most with 1 disconnecting before the start of the match, but other than that I've had a great online experience. I'm also in North America so the restricted servers might be the case? Don't know but seems fine to me.

Re: If You Liked the Latest Super Mario 3D World Trailer, You'll Love the New Screens

Seriously can't wait for this game. Played the demo at the Best Buy E3 event over here in America and absolutely loved it, even my girlfriend was having fun and doing surprising well. We'll definitely buying this on launch.

EDIT: Also wanted to say Nintendo has handled the switch over to HD extremely well and it's only going to get better over the years. Everything that comes out looks better than most other games.

Re: Super Mario 3D World Brings New Power-Ups to the Mushroom Kingdom

Don't understand why people thought they would go with a Sunshine sequel. It was the lowest selling 3D Mario game (thought great) on they're least successful console...that's not a legacy they want to continue. Anyways was sold with the E3 demo, but this trailer just blew it out of the water. Don't normally do it, but definitely day one purchase.

Re: Talking Point: The Steam Gaming Machines Are An Unconventional Challenge to the Wii U

Specters

The problem with Steam Machines will be their price. Though it might be equal to a PS4 in price, we'll have to see how good the specs are and if the components are upgradeable (though they should be since it is a PC). If Valve and their manufactures want to take a hit in dollars per unit they could make an extremely competitive console.
However for those of us that can build PCs it will almost always be cheaper to buy the separate components and assemble it ourselves. I have a top of the line PC + Wii U, which I personally think is the best set up to get the best games out there.

Re: Satoru Iwata Cites Poor Basic Wii U Sales To Rule Out Price Cut Benefits

What I don't think people understand and I don't think Nintendo has done a very good job of declaring it, but why the internal drives are so small in the Wii U is because they're SSDs. The SSD is flash memory--can run at 300-500 mbps, compared to HHD which max at 50 or so mbps--thus makes so the OS and games run faster, smoother, take less power on the CPU, run cooler, use nearly no RAM, etc. That way almost all the RAM can be used toward the games and not on background processes. It was definitely a smart move and I thought, at least, Sony would have followed suit. Instead they opted to put 8 GB of RAM in the PS4, but at least 3.5 of that is going to be used by the OS and background processes making it much closer to the Wii U than people think. I guess consumers aren't ready to understand the benefits of SSDs and just see 32 GB verses 500 GB and think Nintendo are just cheap or not offering value.
