Re: It Looks Like Splatoon 3 Will Be Using Nintendo's In-House Server System

Specters

@Rayquaza2510 It's because the chip despite being Nvidia does not support DLSS. The AMD is open source and the FidelityFX 1.0 supports older chips.

But hopefully it is a trend we can look forward to the Super Switch or Switch 2 or whatever that they should be utilizing upscaling technology and hopefully the new DLSS which is great.

Re: Everything Announced In The Latest Splatoon 3 Trailer - New Weapons, Photo Mode, And 3-Player Turf Wars

Specters

Looks like great additions. The new movement, weapons and specials look fantastic. Definitely they will mix up meta depending how powerful those rolls i frames are.

Also they didn't really say it but you can see in Rainmaker there is actually now a closer check point platform instead of just 1. I assume the Rainmaker will reset there instead of back in the middle. So there might be other changes to the ranked modes.

Re: Nintendo Direct For Splatoon 3 Confirmed For This Week

Specters

@invictus4000 don't know what to tell you other than you seem to have a warped expectation if a new single player campaign, new weapons, new stages, new specials is just not enough 'newness' for you. You should still be playing Splatoon 1 if you could do everything the same as before.
And the rest of us will be playing 3 having much more fun without you.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 - Chain Attacks Guide

@chocolate_supra Everything in the screenshots was also in the Nintendo Directs. Also if you're really worried about spoilers probably shouldn't read on articles explaining anything about something you don't want spoiled.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Is Already Switch eShop's Top Seller, Unsurprisingly

Specters

@Patendo would recommend it if you enjoyed any of the previous games. If you enjoy any JRPG or RPG in general it's already shaping out to be one of the best. I'm about 30 hours in and having a great time with it.
There are several connections already with the previous games but it could still be enjoyed without that knowledge.

If you have no interest in RPGs, expansive worlds, multilayered gameplay systems, or complex storylines then it probably won't be for you but you could always go to a retailer and get a physical copy and most with return them within a certain period of time.

Re: Witcher 3 Dev Admits He Overcrowded One Map With Too Many Points Of Interest

Specters

I found a lot of The Witcher 3 to be great with little stories all over the place. The filler icons and 'quests' where whatever. If you were going for completion then it would be annoying. But those icons really bother people because Elden Ring has hundreds of those useless filler bosses/dungeons that held little to no stories and the general consensus is that's brilliant design.

I think BoTW was much better because of the immersion, lack of UI clutter, and the interlocking systems. While on the board they didn't have a ton of side quests they were fun and had some good stories. I would just say they needed more multipart quests and a few legacy dungeons and it would have been damn near perfect.

Re: Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes Was Originally Fire Emblem Warriors 2

Specters

Thought the first one was sort of bland. Barely got through a couple chapters unlike Hyrule Warriors I must have put in like 200 hours. So this one I wasn't optimistic but after playing the demo they made a lot of great changes and the focus on Three Houses characters was the best decision they could have made. I've been playing through the Golden Deer path and loving it so far.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes

Specters

Played the demo and then went and bought the game. Definitely feels like their best effort yet for the more traditional Musou. Though I must say I absolutely loved Persona Strikers and I would hope they do more in the style of Persona Strikers for another series with a smaller cast. Maybe even a Tokyo Mirage Sessions sequel if they ever did I think would be perfect for that style.

Re: Sonic Movie Was "A Huge Inspiration" For Sonic Frontiers' Combat

Specters

Watched the new gameplay demos and doesn't look any better. He has some punches and kicks and what looks like a dodge counter. Puzzles still look boring. Pop in of platforms is still poor and too close to the player especially when going at speed...like Sonic does.
If we are giving Team Sonic the benefit of the doubt and their concept is just TOOOOO REVOLUTIONARY for our simple minds to understand then whoever is running their marketing and PR should be fired. Sega has really botched this up.

All and all how I see looks like it is trying to be elements of ripped right out of BoTW & Mario Odyssey + bog standard modern platforming + Sonic speed. Wish they could just give us a hint of something more creative. Sonic Forces at least promised something more exciting than Frontiers is now.

Re: The Sonic Frontiers Preview Footage Is From An "Early Build"

Specters

@Pandy-the-Panda yes all builds are early builds before release I'm glad you took what he said absolutely literally and not what he meant by saying he hoped they could fix issues in the early build before launch. For the Sonic Team to show this off as their first impressions doesn't give the greatest confidence to potential buyers and it is also true that this is the game if it is releasing soon.
They might polish it up, but their previous games would say that polish ain't their best attribute. They might get the draw distance better so playable platforms don't disappear 50 feet away from the player, I mean how would Sonic go fast if you can't even see the platforms. They might get the frame rate better through optimizations. But this is the game. The art is this, the combat is this, the puzzles are this. You cannot change the core fundamentals of the game within 6 months.

Re: EA Reportedly Pursuing Sale Or Merger

Specters

This is bad news just in general. Don't like 99% of their games but all these large mergers are only bad for the industry and over all society becoming more monologist.

If these ultra wealthy executives wanted to do something truly good they could allow the studios to run the company as a collective. They don't need any more money (which this is really about).

Re: No More Heroes 3 Is No Longer A Switch Exclusive

Specters

@Chocobo_Shepherd It would only improve the 'open world' that ran at 30 fps (and below) but most if not all the fights were at a fairly steady 60 fps. And taking it from a dynamic 1080p to maybe 4K, but the art style would scale fairly easily.

Doubt they'll put any amount of work to do any other optimizations or improvements for other platforms.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo And Mobile Is An Uneasy Alliance, But It's Still Vital

Specters

Been playing Dragalia Lost since day one. Best conversion of RPG to mobile and they kept adding more modes and events, it honestly deserved a real game to utilize these characters.

Since it is shutting down feel they missed an opportunity there to do something like GranBlue. Get Arc System Works to make a blazing hot fighting game with all these characters with roll back and they would be in the money. Platinum or Monolithsoft could make a great ARPG or RPG with all the materials they've already made.

But I feel this series will just go into the Nintendo vault for weird cameos.

Re: Round Up: The Rune Factory 5 Reviews Are In

Specters

@Moonsorrow999 They actually never mention any technical issues until they updated their review on March 3rd, 8 days after posting their review they did a separate article about the performance differences between platforms. Also in the review does not say which versions they played, but Digital Foundry showed that every version of the game cannot hold a stable frame rate usually in the 40s-50s. The most stable version is playing the PS4 version on PS5. I find it hard to believe you never had a noticeable frame rate issue when it has been so widely reported that has been the main focus of From's post launch patches and Valve went as far as to fixed the main issue for Steam Deck (shader compiling and creating thousands of instances without caching).
I 100%ed it on the PC at 140 hours and I was having frame rate and hitching issues right up to the end even after the 2 post release patches. My PC is higher specs than a PS5 and should run the game on paper with zero issue.
What platform did you play on?

Re: Round Up: The Rune Factory 5 Reviews Are In

Specters

This was were I thought the reviews would be. I bet I'll have a good time with it just I'll be waiting for a sale.

Also from what I seen online the technical issues are input lag, pop in, shuttering frame rate when multiple things on the screen. Surprised that seemed to be IGN's major problem with the game and it took it down to a 6 when they just gave Elden Ring a 10/10 which had far worse versions of those exact same problems. When I was reading the review their technical issues part was right next to an Elden Ring ad highlighting their 10/10. Oh well here is me thinking there should be some sort of consistency from publications.
