Re: Poll: Are You Excited About Nintendo at E3 2017?

Rumncoke25

FIRst let me say I'm not excited about E3 as of yet. I almost forgotten it was time. As a teen I dreamed of being able to go. Now it's open and i didn't want to waste vacation time to go.

There is info I do look forward to, and I'll probably be get more into it when I start to see what there is. I'm more of a person to get hyped by what I see rather than start out hyped. For that reason, it's close between Sony and Nintendo for who I am looking forward to.

Sony always has exclusives that I know i will want to play. I love my Switch, but I have only been interested in about 1 in 3 or 4 titles I have seen so far. But I want to see what Nintendo has planned. I WANT to see Mario, xenoblade, fire emblem, and Dragon quest.

THe wild card is seeing what is on the horizon. I won't speculate, I've been told Big N has been known to disappoint those that come in with expectations. I'm new so i haven't played many franchises, but would love to try animal crossing , Metroid, and Smash Bros on Switch

Re: Pokémon GO Fest Chicago Takes Place This Summer, Solstice Event Also Revealed

Rumncoke25

This game needs to be more inclusive. People not in major cities have gotten screwed from jump. I find lots of Pokémon here in Miami, but lots of friends in smaller towns have not had such luck.

I guess the fire and ice is ok. I think what would be more appreciated would be a rotation like system. I have traveled and seen lots of places that only see 10-12 Pokémon. I guess this is because of the region? Why not do a monthly rotation of the types of Pokémon that appear in an area? They could keep it to being 10 but by having the common Pokémon in an area Switch, it keeps people from getting frustrated.

Re: Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Confirmed for 17th November Release on 3DS

Rumncoke25

I'll resist from copying and pasting my initial thoughts about the direct. Instead I'll go on about the 3ds. I feel like a lot of attention is being directed it's way instead of the Switch. The 3ds was the machine that got me into Nintendo, but I need the Switch to bwork the machine that keeps me there.

I'm being patient, but it would be nice to be seeing more of the love for the Switch.

Re: Pokkén Tournament DX Confirmed For Nintendo Switch

Rumncoke25

I didn't mind working an extra shift this morning because I knew there wouldn't be a major announcement at this direct with E3 on the doorstep. No if I don't get some news I want at E3, then you might see Rumncoke boil.😡

Where were we? Oh yes pokken.

Never had a Wii U, so not upset about a port.

Same fighter requirement applies for me. Better have a lot of fighters, with some strategy play. Content is important. I'm very meh on buying fighters due to lack of content. The only fighter I'm leaning toward buying this year is Marvel vs Capcom(memories) and if Smash gets announced( doubtful.)

Re: Get Ready for a Pokémon Direct on 6th June

Rumncoke25

@daveh30
We are riding the same wave. I waited to let my initial excitement waiver, and I have to say that the announcement of a main stream entry for the Switch is E3 worthy.

I think we could be seeing an announcement of a couple Iphone/Samsung mobile games, and an announment for a 3ds title. The only thing that keeps hope alive is I have been told Big N has been known to be a little....unorthodox at times lol.

Re: Zelda: Breath of the Wild Director Says the Game’s Design Could Become the New Standard

Rumncoke25

@Tarvaax
Pretty well said. I agree with that he fallout 4 comparison, I loved fallout 3 an so felt 4 was...shallow? The story didn't grab me much and I felt it was a shell of its predecessor.

I love BOTW. I wouldn't be fine with that being the standard, personal you I love having more weapons, armor and items to find. Definitely morning at the risk of losing story or gameplay, but if there is a team that can keep the balance right, I think this team can.

Re: Nintendo Reveals More Details About its Paid Online Service

Rumncoke25

I'm not going to gripe about the fact that it costs because thats like fussing about death. No I don't want it, but it's gonna happen. The question as I see it is
1. What do I get for the money? SO far, playing online, which I do infrequently when it's free. ANd access to games. This is where I'm interested, the potential to make me not even think about paying is to give me access to games, and Dr MARio and ballon fight ain't doing it. Give me indies, or GameS like advance wars and river city ransom.

2. Is the price prohibitive? They have done better here. Less than $2 a month I am less than what I spend on gum a month! They have a decent pricing but scheme, I just really want to have some better games listed.

Re: Zelda: Breath of the Wild Director Says the Game’s Design Could Become the New Standard

Rumncoke25

SPeaking as someone who did not like original Zelda games, this is good news. I Still have only beaten very little of the game, I played for a week before I actually got off the plateau and finish my first quest.

I like being able to explore and do what I please. Only thing I would love is more loot, exploring and looting is the key to my heart and the main reason I put in triple hours into borderlands and never came close to finishing lol.

Re: Square Enix Silent On Switch Dragon Quest XI Due To "Adult Circumstances"

Rumncoke25

Does this need to become a HBO series? I figure Sony is pushing for timed exclusivity, because even though I have loved my PS4 for years, that is what they would do. I would prefer it on the Swithx, I would prefer every rough on the switch because I feel the Switch is the best platform for a guy that works, goes to shxool, And has a girlfriend to attempt to put 60+ hours into a game.

We will see.

Re: Review: Disgaea 5 Complete (Switch)

Rumncoke25

I'm a strategy lover( oh how I pray for a advance wars on switch!) that had never played disgaea. I played the demo and it looks....weirdly fun? I have heard just as was stated in the review, difficulty ramps up a lot and the game throws a million stats to watch.

I do think I want to get it by with so much to play(I haven't finished Zelda, because persona and MK8 sessions with my girlfriend have taken over my life) so I don't feel the need to get this now. It is firmly on my give it a try list eventually though.

I just don't think this will replace my love for fire emblem or my dream for advance wars.

Re: Capcom Is Bringing Monster Hunter XX to the Switch

Rumncoke25

Two separate reactions-one for the Switch and one for me.

This is great news for the switch. They had better have an ample supply in Japan. When I went there, it was a huge phenomenon, and I doubt the fervor has went down much.

Which leads to me. I never tried the game. My friend there described it as being not exactly newcomer friendly. Extremely tedious is what I got from it, as well as needing to have a dedicated party to play with. That's bacd news for a single player gamer like me. I have been investing in games for the Switch, so I want to give it a try, but I'm hoping that it will be a bit more...interesting in the beginning, and I'm hoping for the ability to play some as a like wolf.

If. It perhaps I'll be slumming here looking for partners, lol.

Re: Niantic Drops Hint That Legendary Monsters Are Coming To Pokémon GO This Summer

Rumncoke25

You know what would be legendary? Being able to track Pokémon. Wait, or have more Pokémon appear than the same 11 over and over. Not doing it for you? How about being able to actually battle other trainers, instead of the janky gym battles. Perhaps being able to trade Pokémon?

Maybe it's just me, but all of those are more needed than a legendary that you would need to be in the right place at the right time to get, and that you can't do anything with once you got it.

Re: "No Plans" For Destiny 2 On Switch, Says Project Lead Who Loves Nintendo's Console

Rumncoke25

I never played destiny cuz you know, single player. I have coworkers that would plan days off to play the game together. I won't say the Switch can't use games like this. It's more that I never expected this as a Swirch option in the first place.

As an aside, I'm interested to see what third party games do come to the switch. I love mine, but 4 months ago I said I don't see any support and I still don't. I dint expect huge shooters, but if RPGs and 3rd person action games skip out..

I'm hoping E3 gives answers, but I feel it's going to be Nintendocentric.

Re: Nintendo Reveals ARMS' Single Player Mode, Grand Prix

Rumncoke25

@XenoShaun
If you missed it I did too. That's the reason still on the fence with Arms. This looks bare bones to me, and I'm not sure about the roster yet either. I need a large roster and a deep arcade experience.

Arms looks like it might be fun, but neither of my questions were really answered to my satisfaction.

Re: Video: Here’s the First Look at Splatoon 2’s Single Player Mode

Rumncoke25

This is what I was waiting for. The fact that there A is a single player and more importantly B looks polished and not just a throw in put this in the day one buy.

My girlfriend is addicted to Mario Kart and she has been looking at YouTube of Splatoon and Arms. I'm still not sure about Arms, at least not at full price, but I think I saw enough to trust in Splatoon.

Re: Poll: How Do You Play the Nintendo Switch - As A Portable, Home Console or Hybrid?

Rumncoke25

In the beginning, it was easily portable 65%- tv -35% . I was not home much due to class and work . With school winding down, and overtime no longer mandatory at work(knock on wood), I have more time in the house, and it is about an even split now.

I say even because I still play hand held mostly, so my girlfriends can watch tv. But she is SUPER into Mario Kart, so the dock has been getting a lot of love.

Re: Poll: Do You Think Call Of Duty: WWII Will Come To Switch, And Would You Want It If It Did?

Rumncoke25

Let me start by saying no chance it's in the Switch.

If it somehow did, I figure it would be gimped and wouldn't swell well. Leading to the inevitable "Nintendo gamers won't buy our products so no need in making them" statement.

I have no interest in any COD, I prefer single player or couch coop like borderlands to any multiplayer shooter. The Switch needs games but I'm not sure this one is the best game to port.

Re: GameStop Confirms Nintendo Switch Stock Now In US Stores With Trade-In Credit Deal

Rumncoke25

I don't generally love GameStop but this is de why. I got my launch day preorder by trading in my Xbox one(which was a Christmas gift then to be fair I played only with titanfall2) and my original 3ds phat, and ensued yo getting the Switch a carrying case and Zelda for only $63.

GameStop might prey on those who can't help themselves, but if you play the system right you can get a deal

Re: Fire Emblem Heroes Adds Characters from Path of Radiance

Rumncoke25

@DarthFoxMcCloud

Good point. I got extremely lucky in that I got a 4 Marth a 4 Roy a 5 takumi and a 5 Nowi. Most of what I got besides that is a lot of the same 3 stars over and over. I wish you could sell characters for maybe like 10 and orb? Just as a way to make it seem like you could recycle enough to get another chance.

As far as Pokémon Go, I saw one snorlax. One. In the MIA airport while trying to catch a flight to Houston. I nearly missed my flight to catch it.

Worth it.

Re: Fire Emblem Heroes Adds Characters from Path of Radiance

Rumncoke25

@SLIGEACH_EIRE

Nailed it in one. I log in when I get off work to get rewards in case I decide to summon. But it is a boring game. Most free to play are. There isn't really a story to get into and the gameplay is old fast.

I think the quest to get monies made advancing the characters too impossible. And without that driving you, there isn't a point to keep playing.

Re: NPD Results Highlight Record-Breaking Nintendo Switch Launch

Rumncoke25

I think it's difficult to compare the Switch to the Wii U simply because the Switch's high is already higher than the Wii U highest point. With that said, this isn't to say the Switch can't lose the plot-that remains to be seen. I just don't expect it to fall like the Wii U. The portability factor combined with the marketing says this won't be left to die.

It is important Nintendo keeps stock up. I'm interested to see how Mario Kart fares. Many here have already purchasedd he Wii is version and have no interest in buying, but many of a cause that I know is more interested in MK than Zelda. No I don't expect it to sell like Zelda, but I'm interested to see what kind of bump the Switch gets from its release.

Re: Video: Here's Exactly What's New And Different In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Rumncoke25

The driving assist is fine. I won't use it, but how could letting people that aren't necessarily skilled at games play a bad thing? My girlfriend would love to play without frustration and so would my niece.

I get the Wii U crowd not feeling like this is an upgrade. I don't have a Wii U, so it's a new game to me. And millions of others. I haven't played Mario Kart since being a child on GameCube, and it's a day one but, more because a lot of family and loved ones will play this game with me. Im hardly a Nintendo fan. As much as I love the Switch, I wouldn't give up my PS4 for it( P5 has kept me from visiting Hyrule since it came out), but kudos to Nintendo for giving a platform for the hardcore and non gamers to have a console and games to enjoy together.

Now let's get that GameCube VC going so I can find out what I missed out on in Mario Sunshine please.

Re: Namco Museum Cover Art Hints At Physical Release On Switch

Rumncoke25

I think this is a tad bit overpriced for what I can see. This is more of a $20 release point, considering that half these games won't have aged well at all.

But if I decide to get it, then physical. I hate not being able to have a physicals copy. In my entire life I can count on one hand what games I got digitally and they were all indie gems that I could not pass on.

This is not the gems I'm loookg for.

Re: Nintendo Has Discontinued The NES Classic Edition in North America

Rumncoke25

I never saw one on a store shelf. Not never. To me this makes no difference since they didn't exist for purchase anyway. I will say that this frees up production for other products. The optimist in me says ramping up Switch production after an epic (I hope) E3 showing.

The realist in me says this starts production of the Snes classic.

Re: ARMS Punches Its Way Onto Switch On 16th June

Rumncoke25

This game officially jumped from absolutely no interest to something I would pick up on sale. Which is a huge jump on my scale of interest. The main issue is I don't see how it can jump higher.

I'm not a huge fighter fan. Most get boring to me rather quickly. The only fighting games I actually got very into were marvel vs Calvin, smash bros, and injustice. All three had in common that there was an insane roster of characters. I'm not sure if arms will have enough variety of characters for me to invest a lot of time into it.

It still at least looks like an actually game rather than a mini game that I felt should be a pack in. Let's hope that there is even more to the game.

Re: Splatoon 2 Splats on Switch on 21st July

Rumncoke25

I have been curious about Splatoon, but I'm officially looks forward to this title. I still hope for a robust single player mode as I am not a fan of multiplayer shooters, but I WANT to really like this game. The colors and style are appealing, and I showed my girlfriend, a staunch non gamer, and she thought the game looked fun. Like a wild game of paintball where her words. Any game that might get her into playing with me is a game I'm excited about.

If they allow bots to play offline this game sounds perfect for us. If not I guess I'll have to try to find a few friends here that might be interested in a match or two...

Re: Fresh Data Shows That Four Out Of Five Pokémon GO Players Have Given Up Hunting

Rumncoke25

I was one of the rabid fans in the begining. I would play all the time to see what I found. I even would have it out when we went out of town to see what new stuff I found.

Drop off one occurred 2 months in when I realized I was only seeing the same 5 Pokémon. Even having played for hours a day in that 2 month time, I saw 2 Charmander, 1 dratini, and pretty much Tatyana , evee, and pidgy.

Drop off 2 was a week after that. I never got into gyms(still don't see why their can't be gym leaders to fight, rather than playing hold the fort). I maybe captured 6 before I realized that's not really fun to me. I really wanted the battle against others aspect. It seemed that most gyms were filled with bots that had somehow gotten 2700+ poke that never even spawn. And they were always stacked 4-5 poke deep. Why slog through that to get coins to use that I didn't want anyway? I just wanted to find Pokémon and have battles with people.

The last straw was the speed limit. I used to bike ride as a good way to hit a lot of stops and see what Pokémon were out in other places. Without that I was really just walking in a mile radius seeing what I always see. I walk my dog daily, and I open it to hit a couple stops and maybe capture a Pokémon that happens to come out, but not active anymore. They clearly have lots of users, I just wish the game actually was more of a game and had some features to it.

You get what you pay for I guess

Re: Talking Point: One Month of Nintendo Switch - Early Momentum Brings Optimism

Rumncoke25

@NEStalgia

Idk how you don't have 10 likes but you go mine. You nailed nearly every thought I have on the head. Nintendo isn't trying to win the console war, so they never will. Internet gamers see this diff than John Q. Public does. The Switch isn't made to be looked at in videos. You play it and then you get it. It's the experience and the experience is pretty good .

As for the third parties... I agree that Ninty won't be dripping 3rd party hits monthly. I do think they need to be getting a few big names though. I agree that if you want number of. If titles, a PS4 is the way to go( for gems like persona, how can you NOT HAVE ONE?) but there are a lot of gamers who won't/can't buy multiple systems. Having the ability to have FIFA, madden, and a call of duty on the Switch eases some pain. I'm not saying specifically those titles, but a few big name games that the public loves.

I've found most of the people here that consistently fuss have 2 things in common. They have never played the Switch and they are angry. They are angry about being "duped" with the Wii U. They are angry at the price. They are angry about lack of pack ins. I'll never tell anyone if their angry is justified or not, it's not for me to say. My only point is if you take off the red glasses of rage, and viewthe Switch for what it is, I think it might look a little different.

Re: Nintendo's Harshest Critic Thinks Switch Will Outsell Microsoft's Scorpio

Rumncoke25

I think general concensus is this guy talks out of his nethers. Let me play devils advocate. I am the guy he is talking about. Been a Sony guy since the ps2. I have never looked at a Xbox, very few titles that Microsoft puts out that I even thought about wanting to play.

Also not a Nintendo guy, but I can remember some franchises as a kid playing with friends and family. So when the code names NX was rumored to be portable, I started watching out for it. When Switch was announced, I was completely geeked. In no way was this going to take away my want to play Persona or mass effect, my PS4 was going nowhere, but what a supplemental console to have.

I think there is a possibility that some PS and XBone owners see a Switch as a viable alternative. Not nearly a majority of them, but millions nonetheless. I don't think Ninty is attempting to "win" the console wars, just carve out a comfortable(and profitable) chuck of space, and supplemental owners would help there.

Re: Poll: A Month of Nintendo Switch - Do You Think It's Heading for Success?

Rumncoke25

I have a Switch and I have since day one. I love the machine itself. As a device I give it a B+. Personally I would say a solid A, but I know some have issue with the headphone jack, and some feel it's not as comfortable in handheld mode.

The library is a concern. Again not for me. The Switch is a supplementary console to my PS4(though as often happens, the new baby takes all the attention from the older sibling), so having a game a month doesn't really phase me in the slightest. I'm not close to finishing Zelda( took me a week to actually stop exploring and go to hateno lol), and Mass Effect is taking some time as well. Just as far as getting the masses, there needs to be several options.

That's where my concern comes in. I hear people talking about the lack of support the Wii U got. I read all these developers. At claim to love the Switch but I see no game announcements. Logic tells me to wait until E3, and wait I shall. It does feel like the Switchs success hinges on Ninty coming out guns blazing at E3.

So yes I think it's done well, and I feel like the future is good, but so much can swing either way in June.

Re: Poll: A Month of Nintendo Switch - Do You Think It's Heading for Success?

Rumncoke25

@SLIGEACH_EIRE

Really? I'm not among those that rip your comments, even when I feel they are contrarian just for arguments sake, because it's your right to say as you please, and the onus is on others to ignore as they will.

Just genuinely curious as to the factors that make you feel it will fail. I love the Switch, as a concept, it's what I THOUGHt the vita would evolve into , and I have some concerns myself. Just wanted to see if we had any of the same concerns.
