Re: Capcom Explains (Again) Why Monster Hunter World Isn't Coming To Switch

Rumncoke25

I’m always poo pooing when games don’t come to the Switch. In this case, I can actually understand. They couldn’t have developed the game and if we are honest this would have to be so scaled down to run it would be a different game.

I have never played Monster Hunter, I am CONSIDERING getting this for my PS4, though I am so anti online games it’s jot funny. But as far as the Switch goes, they should just make a new MH for
Switch rather than trying to make World work badly on it.

Re: Feature: Killer Apps We Really Want To See On Nintendo Switch

Rumncoke25

While I don’t need it, I can understand the want for streaming services. I can understand the browser, even though I use the phone for gaming help . But Facebook is not needed at all. As if people are addicted to social media already, do we need to be able to check in from whatever game you are playing?

Re: Nintendo's French Boss Says We Should Expect More Switch Announcements From EA

Rumncoke25

Idk, I mean financially it makes sense to get aboard the Switch train, but it seems An EA official would be saying this. I love FIFA, but that Switch version was....lackluster. If they want to bring over a better version, ok, but this was the first FIFA in years I stopped playing FIFA before the season was over.

Anyway, what games would I like see? Honestly I have little faith in EA giving me an actually GOOD sports game, or I would say FIFA and Madden. So dead space, mass effect, or Star Wars would be something I’m interested in.

Re: Nintendo Direct Mini Is Happening Right Now

Rumncoke25

I’m surprised reading the comments how many people are down on this mini. Until I realized hers are probably people that were aboard the Wii U train. I can understand the disappointment, but I haven’t had a Ninty console in a decade, not counting a DS. These are all new to me.

Based on the sales of the Wii U, lots of people missed out on these games. I do think new games are needed, but I would think any huge 1st party games are being polished and would be more of an E3 announcement for the last quarter of the year.

Re: Pokémon GO Swaps Locations of Region Exclusives, Faithfully Following Mainline Games

Rumncoke25

@Aurumonado

I respect your opinion but also respectfully disagree. Having a Pokémon be locked to a real life location isn’t the same as say only being available by getting badges in a game.

I have always been a proponent of a cyclical exclusivity. Locked Pokémon should rotate say a week of the month, in which that is your chance to catch them. It’s still limited, but at least everyone gets the opportunity.

Re: Soapbox: What The Upcoming Pokémon Switch RPG Can Learn From Recent Pokémon Games

Rumncoke25

I am sure I am in the minority, but I always wanted a game like the anime. Before purists go insane, what I mean is I watched the anime before ever having a game. To me, the wonder was exploring the regions, finding and battling Pokémon. Then I play he game and it is a picture of 2 Pokémon facing each other with text saying what move was done.

I always dreamed of roaming an open world, searching far and wide, seeing Pokémon that I could go after, rather than random battles. I imagined Pokémon moving in battle, Charizard flying overhead, Sandshrew burrowing underneath it’s opponent.

I know this is changing he formula that has millions of fans, but to me, being able to move and actually fight would change the dynamics of a stake battle system. And being able to the region In search of Pokémon rather than rustling leaves is a much more immersive experience.

Just my two cents.

Re: Switch Has Beaten The PlayStation 2's Year-One Sales In Japan

Rumncoke25

The PS2 is the machine of my youth, that firmly won me to the side of Sony. To beat that first year....well it’s a big deal. Of course it was the following years the cemented the PS2 success.

Year 2 and 3 for the Switch will say a lot as far as it’s long term success and how far the hybrid marvel can go. Just as the PS2 captures my youth, the Switch has really carved a place in my late 20s. It’s the perfect system for the way my life is now.

Re: Nintendo Switch Reaches 10 Million Global Sales In Its First Nine Months

Rumncoke25

I haven’t posted much in the last month, actually have been too busy playing the Switch( as well as Christmas shopping, I spent way too long in a makeup shop begging for help while shopping for my girlfriend) but these are great numbers.

I’m interested in seeing how the holidays bumped sales, and more excited to see how momentum carries into 2018. If Ninty can release games at a decent clip, I think sales will flow. Also I have seen a few comments stating Pokemon, had that actually been confirmed as a 2018 release?

Re: Nintendo Switch Reaches 10 Million Global Sales In Its First Nine Months

Rumncoke25

@SLIGEACH_EIRE
Congrats on assimilating lol.

Jokes aside, I didn’t understand why everyone was fussed about your comments. I think there is a section of the gaming community that has the same concerns/complaints that you do. I read your post as like a weathervane to gauge how they regarded the Switch.

Happy Holidays, and good gaming.

Re: We Can't Ignore The Switch, Says Sony's Head Of Corporate Planning

Rumncoke25

The Vita was my dream, which quickly turned into my nightmare. Seriously the Switch so far has done what Sony has no interest in doing with the Vita. I love my PS4, and I love my Switch, I would love to be able to play all games on the go, but I don’t see it.

Sony has no real idea how to support the Vita, or no interest in doing so. Why do I think that changed now? I’m sure they would love to get some of the Switch revenue, but I have doubts they would put in the work so to speak.

Re: Review: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (Switch)

Rumncoke25

I never played the first, but I am excited to try this. Two concerns I have. First I been wanting sweeping rpgs to play at work and school, and this probably can’t be it. I know I could sleep mode in a big battle but I would forget the flow of battle. No big, I can play Skyrim out.

I am a bit concerned about the mounds and mounds of menu choices and things to track. It sounds really daunting. Of course I thought the same when I was told about disgaea, and it wasn’t too bad when I played. I’m hoping XC2 is like that and it makes sense when you play.

Re: Square Enix on What to Expect on the Switch in the Future

Rumncoke25

As much as I love old squaresoft, I would rather they continue old franchises rather than remake them.
A new tactics game? Yes please. TWEWY 2? Make it so. But if they gave me both of those remade, I would consider if it was at bargain rates, $20.

Let’s just get those DQ games localized here on Switch too.

Re: Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Launches This Week

Rumncoke25

I’ll download this and give it a try. If nothing else it will get some run on thanksgiving/Black Friday. I don’t really like most mobile free to play games. Having never played Animal Crossing at least this will give me an idea of how the game mechanics work.

Re: Preview: Returning to a Strange Universe in Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Rumncoke25

Jumping into my first Xeno-experience. The Switch was initially the big hope for me to have huge RPGs. It is a bit worrisome that things get choppy in portable, seeing as a seeeping rpg is going to okayed 65% in portable mode.

Also hoping the story is above average. I played the latest final fantasy, and liked it for a lot of things, but both the story and the wandering band of Bros didn’t really grab me.

Re: Fire Emblem Heroes Gets Massive Update

Rumncoke25

I stopped playing a long time ago, but I do my daily check in to get the log in bonus. So I am sure I have quite a bit of in game currency. Maybe I’ll sunmo a few of theee new heroes and se if this makes it fun to play.

Re: Review: DOOM (Switch)

Rumncoke25

There are so many good games to get, I never expected this in year one!

Doom will get picked up, but with odyssey being the game of play, I’ve decided to wait until Black Friday/cyber Monday to see if there are deals to pick up games.

If not, at least I will have time to play something by then.

Re: Hulu Video Streaming App Out Today For Switch In North America

Rumncoke25

I didn’t expect this but it’s grwat news. Not for me, who is rarely somewhere out that has WiFi with my Switch for long enoug to watch a show that I wouldn’t choose to play a game instead...

No this news is great for sales. As well as the Switch is moving units now, imagine the people that would be into buying “the cheap tablet to watch Netflix AND play quality Mario games”.

Re: Investment Banking Firm Predicts Switch Will Sell 115.8 Million Units By 2023

Rumncoke25

That’s really optimistic. It’s hard to predict what will happen 6 years in the future with so many variables. I will say that there was a time 60 mill would have been a great success. And it’s intersting that everyone is accepting that as a foregone conclusion.

If someone made me gamble, aka invest in future stock, I would say 85-95 is where I think the Switch hits. And that is nothing to be ashamed of.

Re: Don't Hold Your Breath For Monster Hunter: World On Switch

Rumncoke25

I have no emotional horse in the race, but from what I have seen of Worlds, I couldn’t see how it would work on the Switch. I’m all getting as many big titles to play on the go, but I have a lot to look forward to, so it’s all good.

Other question is do I get this for PS4? I never played Monster Hunter, loooked artificially hard(slow tank like controls), and I don’t like games that “require” me to play with others to progress. Worlds looks a bit different, so I’ll keep a look out.

Re: Nintendo Gamers Prefer Using Switch As A Handheld Rather Than Docked

Rumncoke25

I would say it’s 60/40 handheld, but I’m not sure that’s preferred. I have college classes and work, so I’m out of the house a lot. That was the initial reason I wanted a Switch. When I’m home I opt for tv, unless my girlfriend is watching something I don’t like(which is most of the time, I don’t like most tv on the big networks).

As an aside, I’m loving Mario, but it was obviously not intended for handheld use optimally. I’ll have to find a new game to play at school, Doom hurry up!

Re: EA Won't Entirely Rule Out Star Wars Battlefront II Coming To Switch

Rumncoke25

I love Star Wars, but can't say I have ever been a battlefront fan. I always prefer a meaty single player to online, which I hardly ever play on my PS4, and play less on the Switch.

I would like to have Star Wars on the Swith, but would take story driven action or rpg take. Or give me an all ship battle, I would prefer all of that to a fps

Re: Review: Fire Emblem Warriors (Switch)

Rumncoke25

I had relegated this to probably won't be bothered pile. Mainly because there are too many super quality games coming out, and I lack the time and finds for them all. I love FE but find Musou games to be tedious. I really wanted the bonds and strategy and evolving from FE.

This review shows that there actually is some of that, and it doesn't sound like a boring game at all. Still no way to really push it ahead of the 5 must haves I am aiming for by the end of the year, but I will definitely pick this up later(or hopefully just add it to my holiday list and get it as a gift lol)

Re: Nintendo is Reportedly Eager to See More Mature Games on the Switch

Rumncoke25

I'm gladness that Nintendo is accepting this. There are a wide variety of gamers that play a wide variety of games. Switch can expand its user base wit he ability to play some big name Fps.

This doesn't mean that Nintendo has to change the games they make, just be more willing to allow third parties to bring more diverse titles.

Re: Review: NBA 2K18 (Switch)

Rumncoke25

It sounds like it's a good game. And with that said, I won't buy it at full price, as a personal protest against the game being release in such a state. I picked up FIFA day one, and while I regret that the presentation is lacking, the game is fully playable and fun. I can't say the day with what I have heard and seen of 2k day one.

The sad part? I have bought the current 2k for my PS4 the last 2 Black Fridays at a considerable doscount($30 each time). I was going to indulge for the switch, but if the Switch version is full price, as I fully expect it to be, and the PS4 version is at half off for Black Friday, as I expect it to be....

Well maths is maths.

Re: DOOM Provides a 'Good Reference Point' to What Wolfenstein II Will Offer on Switch

Rumncoke25

These are the games I was envisioning when I preordered the Switch. Skyrim, Doom, Fifa on the go, not just out of the house, but on the couch while my girlfriend watches the voice. I was blindsided with how good BOTW is, since I don't even like Zelda games. I'm prepared to be astounded at odyssey as well.

All I need is to have those meaty RPGs (Persona which wound happen) to make the Switch and this console is everything a young me wanted the Vita to be.

Re: The Big NBA 2K18 Patch For Switch Is Finally Here

Rumncoke25

I am interested in having sports on the go. Bought FIFA, and am waiting to see how this patch fixes 2K18 before I cosonder this. Really madden on the go is what I'm looking for.

I do think the review specifically said that this game is a no go as is. Anyone that needs a number to understand that should realize that's a failing in themself. I think the arbitrary number system is useless anyway, how many times does a game receive a 7 or 8? It's almost pointless. A good review gives you the info and you make the decision based on this information.

I will say the fact that this was even released was disagcaceful. But the "punishment" people want to be levied by giving the game a low number isn't going to happen. If the game doesn't sell, there just isn't a release in the Switxh next year. I won't buy a bad game just to get a sequel, no one should be satisfied with this digital release. I just ask that commenters think before making accusations of a pass being given.
