Re: You Still Can't Pre-Order The Super NES Classic In The US, And This Could Be Why

Rumncoke25

At this point, I'm not sure Nintendo can do anything to make the Snes preorder process smooth.

I have read and heard horror stories in the UK. The silence about when we( America) can order, the silence about where we can order, the skin each on amount of consoles that are available.... if you made a checklist of ways to frustrate and confound, I'm positive Big N is batting 1.000

I am already certain that I can't preorder, because between work, school, and life, I can't sit on a site refreshing. I'm certain I won't see one in the wild. I'm certain I'm not paying a scalper a dime over retail. I'm 27 going on 50 I guess, because I don't understand why we can't just line up outside a store and get one. One physical body to get one physical console.

I'm not smart enough to understand how making potential consumers annoyed equals profit, but I am dumb enough to hope that MAYBE the wait is Nintendo actually getting stock together and rolling out a comprehensive, aka informing us of the date in advance and providing availability numbers.

Re: First Impressions: Kicking Off With FIFA 18 on the Nintendo Switch

Rumncoke25

@MaSSiVeRiCaN

That's the place I find myself. Huge FIFA fan, always been a PS4 guy, I wanted to get this for the Switch due to needing to play on the go. But it worries me to think I might not be getting the best play modes.

I don't care about graphics as long as it is reasonable, but if the story mode is actually good this time, then it worries me to not get the PS4 version.

I appreciate Nlife getting a demo, but the question is what is kick off mode? I need to know what it is and how good it is, because I am reading story for kick off

Re: Editorial: The Frustrating Quest for a SNES Mini is Bad Business for Nintendo

Rumncoke25

I read about 100 comments and I counted over 40 saying this is people being salty and 1st world problems. Yes it is, but why have any site to talk at all if all you can mention is when you lack runnning water, food or shelter? If you have internet access and some type of device to access it, 90% of what you can mention is a 1st world problem.

I read people saying you shouldn't be concerned about games that you should have already. I'm 28. I did not have access to money as a small child to buy video games. I never had a Nintendo console until the 3ds literally 2 years ago. Every game on this is new to me. Is it something I need? Not in any way.

Point is, a company is doing either a poor job of slugging potential customers a system to know how and when they can preorder, or they are deliberately annoying potential customers as if it was some weird prank.

I knew when to preorder a Switch. I did. I now am interested in buying more Nintendo products, when I had very little interest before. All of that was due to knowing how to get the Switch. Sales leading to more sales, its business 101. My experiences led to 7 other people buying a Switch after playing with me, and multiple others who are interested and looking.

What the "whiners" and "entitled" are asking is not to have a toy placed in their household. It's to have a system in place to attempt to buy a product. You know, which is the cornerstone of capitalism. If that is entitled and spoiled, then maybe you should all turn in your cars, televisions, computer and phones, and we can make the world a more productive place all together.

Re: Poll: Are You Excited About the Super NES Classic Edition?

Rumncoke25

I voted very excited but I can't say hyped. Mainly I think this will be impossible to get. I'm not sure when I can preorder and he fact that it could literally happen when I'm working and won't know... well doesn't look promising.

Most excited for earthbound and ff3, but being new to Nintendo(Switch is my first Big N console) almost all the games will be new to me. I worry about most being anything better than something I play for a few minutes, but I think my girlfriend and her friends will love it.

Assuming that I ever can order one

Re: Guide: Pokémon Go Raids, Raid Bosses, Raid Rewards And Much More Besides

Rumncoke25

@Slaz
Totally agree. Just this morning I beat a quilavw and Bayleef on my own and they are worse than the equivalent that I have.

My problem is the only raids I can solo are useless and the ones I want to beat I run out of time. I know raid means coop, but I know not one person that plays and wandering around hoping to be at a raid when other players are isn't really practical

Re: Pokémon GO's Raid Battles Are Live, But They're Reserved For Master Trainers

Rumncoke25

Just as I thought. I did not love the update and here we know that it isn't for most Pokémon players at all. I have played since day 1, and I'm level 30. I thought the new "features" were supposed to be inclusive.

Oh well, back to waiting for them to actually make anything useful, like change the balance of how often you see new Pokémon, trading, or individual battles. I won't hold my breath.

Re: Pokémon GO Cheaters Get A Nasty Surprise In The Latest Update

Rumncoke25

@DarthFoxMcCloud
I have mentioned this before, I see gyms that have 2 snorlax both over 3000, onvuiosly a cheat. I would say 80% of the Pokémon in gyms are cheaters, but that's subjective.

I have been playing since day one, and I have 2 snorlax, a 2354 that I caught in Miami where I live, and a 1891 that I got from a 10k egg. It's possible to find but again I have only SEEN one in the wild and that was in a major metropolitan area.

It's a shame that Niantic is worried about gyms, rather than making the Pokémon catching experience more varied and accessible for those that don't live in a major metropolitan area

Re: The Big Pokémon GO Update is Being Rolled Out Now

Rumncoke25

@tanookisuit
Reason 1 and 2 I never did the games this fixes absolutely nothing about gyms. I have several mon in the 2400-2700 range, just from playing when I walk my dog several times a day. But the few times I looked at a gym, there are 5 Pokémon all over 3000. Now I have 4 rows of Pokémon maxed out, and the highest is a 2761 gyrados. You want me to believe there are several snorlax above 3000 at one gym when I have played everyday since the day the game came out and I've seen 2 snorlax period, one from an egg?

The gym is 80% scammers in my area. I would assume in most areas, and there is. I incentive to fix it. Why should they becuse if you care to try to beat them you willl spend coin right? lol it's a joke. Either make gyms have trainers with Pokémon that you have to beat, rewarding you with badges to make catching certain types easier, stardust and experience, or make gyms intergral to catching rare Pokémon that have NEVER appeared in your area(Blissey, I'm looking at you).

Re: EA is Focused on Nintendo Switch Portability and "Exploring Other Products"

Rumncoke25

@JaxonH
I was a bit worried about getting a gimped version, but as long as it isn't gimped and release she simultaneously, I'll be buying this for my Switch instead of my PS4.

Seriously, people have to buy more than Nintendo products if you want more 3rd party support. Companies also have a responsibility to bring a quality product, but companies won't REALLY move IPs to the Switch unless they are certain to make money.

Here's to hoping EA and others finally bring the support for 2018.

Re: Pokémon GO's Biggest Update Yet Brings Gym Badges, New Items And Raid Battles

Rumncoke25

Uhh, again I think I'm playing wrong. I don't do gyms, because I play when I walk. And generally I see a gun with 5 2500+cp and say what's the point. I don't need coins to get items that I get by playing the game.

The improvements? I guess. But again I play when I walk. I don't walk in groups of 20. So I'll never really be able to raid, just like I'm not really fighting gyms now because it's me against groups of spoofers. I don't really do multiplayer, it's cool that poker have time to coordinate but I don't. I just play when I'm out walking.

I'm sure the people that "gym" probably also are the people that buy from the shop, so I understand them catering to them. It would be more fun for those of us that play alone to, idk be able to play alone? Why not have gyms that you fight a gym master to get badges that help in catching Pokémon? Or make it a one v one gym. I don't recall Ash calling all his rowdy friends to take down a gym lol

Re: Dragon Ball FighterZ Could Come To Switch If The Demand Is There, Says Producer

Rumncoke25

Do I need to get Shenron to wish this on the Switch?

I have never played a Dragonball game becixee I thought they were mediocre games with a dragonball skin. But this looks like Marvel vs capcom which is the only fighting game I ever loved. I would be cool with a MVC game with dragonball levels of insanity, and as I always say, any game I play is always better to be played on the go.

The knock? Getting it much later than the other systems. With so much quality backlog that I have, I don't mind the wait, but if there is a wait then i don't see it selling well. I really hope third party support comes around soon rather than so much positive talk with no real backing.

Re: Nintendo Infographic Outlines Switch and 3DS Games for 2017

Rumncoke25

As a non Nintendo gamer, I bought the Switch on a hope and a prayer. It looked like the vita had been revived and would get a second chance at life! I have been a Sony diehard, and I can count on literally 2 hands all the Nintendo IP I have enjoyed in my life prior to the Switch, and half have been on the 3ds.

With that said, this is a really good 1st year window for a console. I got my PS4 as a gift when it was released and I actually played 3 games at launch, sold on( Killzone) and one was a indie download. That left Black Sails as the game I liked, and that because I'm a sucker for pirates.

I already have 3 games on Switch. All of which I play regularly, and intend on buying a definite 5 more before the end of the year. If anyone feels 8 games in 7 months isn't enough, then I'll show you a person that doesn't work, have a relationship, or any obligations.

The one thing I will say is I'm looking forward to more 3rd party. I know a lot of those games are 3rd party, but I'm looking forward to the type of diversity that the 3ds got. If what you want is AAA 3rd party support, get a PS4, I think they have top notch games there as well, I have a back log that I won't get through this year, thanks to both the Switch and P5.

The Switch fills both a decent role as a main console, and an EXCEPTIONAL role as a supplemental one.

Re: Something Big Is About To Happen To Pokémon GO's Gyms

Rumncoke25

@DarkKirby
Bingo.

I know there are people heard that will preach to me about how guns are blah blah blah, I played since day one, often times hours a day. Traveled with work to several diff states and made sure to take out the phone on down time to see what diff pokemon were in the new areas. It was huge fun.

The gyms? No. I played a gym once, had 4 monsters that I had to just keep playing to beat. No real strategy, no fun, and no point. And no I don't care about getting coins, I always said anything you can buy you can get by playing. I played a hour or so a day while walking and had plenty of balls from stops. Lucky eggs? To do what? Experience doesn't make anything better, the higher you get the harder to actually catch low level stuff.

As it is, the guns are an ego trip that leads to bots and cheating galore. Give me more stops, more Pokémon to catch, and actual player to player interaction over a gym improves or otherwise.

What the game needs is a way to battle other trainers that you pass, no silly coins, both players can gain experience, more for the winner, and winner gets stardust. Much better than whatever they intend to do with the gyms.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Nintendo's Big Switch and 3DS Reveals at E3 on Day One?

Rumncoke25

I voted solid not blown away. To be blown away one of three things needed to happen. VC reveal, firm date on the Pokémon release meaning it's been in the works for a while, of drop the mic third party support. I expected the news that Pokémon will be on Switch, why wouldn't it be?

What hey did right? Man hearing metroid is coming is a plus, even if there is no date or idea of what kind of game it will be. I was completely surprised that Mario is coming so soon, and it looks better than I expected. Xenoblade for 2017 also unexpected, I was certain that would get pushed back.

On the strength of Mario and xenoblade for the holidays alone, I'm happy. Plus there is some awesome games for the 3ds announced(not that I'm jealous or bitter that there is such firm suport there when it COULD be getting played on my Switch 😒)

All in all a very good not great E3 for Big N, solid B +

Re: Monster Hunter: World Confirmed for Rival Platforms, is Skipping Nintendo Switch

Rumncoke25

I never played MH so I can't say if the game is a departure. As a noob who never played I tougher it looked enticing. Of course i need to see the gameplay, and I'm also not a fan of online games. So even with all that is going for it, I might not get it.

Looks like if they were aiming to "westernize" and get a new audience, it might work since I am intrigued. I'm sorry that it's. It on the Switch, as it is my preferred system of choice for convenience, but the PS4 is a nice system that millions have. And let's face it, numbers are always what a company sees, not loyalty.

I hope there is a valid entry on the Switch as well, but there's room for more than one console to get what is a global game.

Re: Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Unveiled by Ubisoft at E3 2017

Rumncoke25

Wow. I still don't know what to make of Rabbids, they kind of look...annoying. But the game looks fun and I am a huge tactical strategy guy, fell in lb e with final fantasy tactics, and advance wars, fire emblem and xcom have my heart now but this looks fun.

I won't say having Rabbids brought anything to the table for me, but this game moved from Why to firmly on my watch list.

Re: Talking Point: Five Key Areas Nintendo Must Get Right at E3 2017

Rumncoke25

Pretty good article. In particular Nintendo needs to show solid third party support, focus on the Switch a lot more then the 3ds, and bring a couple surprises.

Sony love or hate it, always has 2 surprise trailers. They are usually over a year away yes, but the hype that they cause is real for the base. Look at the buzz the new god of war trailer causes, and everyone knew that was 2 years away.

I would love to see Big N represent for some of the back burner IPs. Metro is seems to fit the bill to me. It's known but a lot lesser known, and a fresh take, as they injected into BOTW could put Metroid on the map. I also would like to see some type of acknowledgment of VC in some form, again it could be for 2018 but the i of tease would go a long way for hype and assuring those on the fence.

Re: FIFA 18 Producer Explains Why You Should Care About The Game On Switch

Rumncoke25

@Other-Brother

Completely agree. Its not the graphisc it's the game modes that rankle. I would rather have all modes with vita graphics. I'm leaning towards getting it, but as a PS4 owner, you'll have a hard time getting most PS4 owners to pay the same price for less modes and say" but it's the best version ever on portable".

You're making it for the best portable system, so I would figure so. I see a trend of companies not making games for Switch or making a game that won't sell due to being lesser versions.

I just wanted E3 to show me a reason to be confident in the support the Switch would garner and right now I'm a little nervous.

Re: FIFA 18 Producer Explains Why You Should Care About The Game On Switch

Rumncoke25

Kudos for the interview but it's pointless. THE game is a lesser version. I Didn't love the journey but if i find out it's been improved for PS4 and I pay the same price as the PS4 version and am missing something I could have for the same price... see the difficulty.

So let someone cut the corporate talk, the shaky reasons for the different versions, talking up how we are getting the full features(though literally we are not). End of the day, it comes to playing FIFA on the go. And most things equal I want FIFA in the go. It sucks, because I know I have to buy this to continue support for what has become my favorite platform. It just rankles me that the choice is to pay the same price for less or else get no Switch support.

Re: FIFA 18 on Switch to Include Ultimate Team, EA Boasts of Most 'Advanced' Portable Version

Rumncoke25

I have to say I have been nervous about this since I heard it was coming. But this has put to bed 80% of my worries. I didn't care much about Alex hunter, perhaps the next journey will be better( because the last one pales in comparison to what 2K has in their franchise), but if not, I would rather play on the go than have the story mode.

I play 70% career, 30% FUT, so hearing they are including both in the Switch has me very happy. I won't preorder though. I need to see the game in action. Graphics aren't the most important thing to me, but if it plays poorly( missed tackles, ice skating on the pitch, etc) then I'll give up my dreams of FIFA in class and stick with my PS4.

PS even though I view my Switch as a portable more ofthen than not, the most advanced portable version is a bit disconcerting. It's almost like they are setting the stage to put out a much more inferior version, but say it's so much better than the App Store FIFA though lol!😂

Re: FIFA 18 on Switch to Include Ultimate Team, EA Boasts of Most 'Advanced' Portable Version

Rumncoke25

@Malcrash
Short answer? No

In depth answer? It felt like a gimped version. I play NBA 2k, the story mode there is very good. Make your character, position, training, decisions that affect the growth of your character, even down to which advertising opportunities and shoes. It's basically a sports RPG( inuzuma 11 please come to Switch!).

The journey was you playing a premade character, you didn't make as many decisions, it felt like a lesser career mode. Personally I also scouted for players and found a fave that sort of became my pet project as I took them from 15 year old starlet to 22 year old next best thing.

In conclusion, not having the mode is a loss that is WELL compensated by the ability to play FIFA anywhere IMO.

Re: Editorial: The Nintendo Switch, E3 and Its Opportunities for Quick Wins

Rumncoke25

There are so many quick wins Big N could nab, and i don't expect any to happen. Instead I'll say the two things that would make sense to me.

1 Nintendo shows some upcoming third party support. We have all seen the pledge lost of companies that are working on games. We read articles about how everyone but the Avengers loves the machine. So let someone announce a couple titles in the works with a little trailer, or sizzle reel. I love Switch for its possibilities, but you got to show some support to get the public on board fully.

2 lets see some games on the horizon. I'm taking early 2018. We all know what's yhe holiday focus will be, and rightfully so, but all my fighting afficianados know you don't throw one punch, you lay out a combo. Show the public we got Mario to buy with your Switch for Christmas, and boom 💥 this game for February, pow 💥 this game in March.

With a little foresight, Nintendo can really make strides even without a Pokémon, Metroid, or Smash announcement, none of which I feel will be mentioned at E3.
